These are simplified aircraft the default Freebie Su-25T, Su-25A, A-10, F-15,Su-27, Su-33 and MiG-29.of this lot I would say the A-10Then there are fully clickable cockpits- I have the F-18, AV-8, UH-1, Gazelle, MI-8, Ka-50 F-86, MiG-21, Spitfire and MiG-15 .Here it gets a bit harder to say- I’d give the UH-1 the title for my favorite helicopter but I would go with the F-86 and MiG-15 for my favorite planes

Default or payware add-ons? I'm not a fan of default aircraft, but CRJ200 is my least hated.My most favourite aircraft is the PMDG 777. Except for the speed trim, PMDG absolutely nailed it in terms of realism, automation with most systems and switches functional.777 in itself is an amazing marvel. The FMC programming, checklists, takeoff setup, and the overpowered engines which have been simulated well, make it one of the best add-ons ever made for FSX.Airbus A320 would've been my favourite aircraft, if Aerosoft would've developed a realistic one since I'm more comfortable with Airbus philosophy. I haven't tried FSLabs yet so the undisputed king for now is the PMDG 777.
What is the use of Flight Simulator?
There is a Microsoft product called "Flight Simulator". Fun to play on your PC and may give some idea of what flying a plane is like but it is not a true training for flying. The simulators that the airlines use are very, very different. They come in two forms fixed and moving. The fixed ones are used to train people on the cockpit layout so they know which button and switch does what (I'm over simplifying to keep the answer short). The ones that move are known as Full Flight Simulators. Now, I say "move" but they are fixed in one place. They have a cabin which replicates the aircraft cockpit in every detail. That cabin sits on a series of legs which have fast acting jacks in them to move the cabin around. The cabin is fitted with video displays (very high fidelity) on to which is projected clouds, runways, other aircraft, weather depending on precisely what phase of flight you are in. The combination of the movement of the cabin on the jacks and the visual scene makes it feel like you are flying; if you stand outside and watch the cabin it's almost impossible to determine what manouvre is being simulated because the machine fools your senses rather than actually moving realistically. I know one pilot who transferred from flying the 747 to the 757 and the first time he actually flew the 757 he had paying passengers - ALL his training was done on simulators.

Unfortunately, your entire question negates itself and the proper answer. There really aren't any true simlike games. The Ace Combat games are the only ones that perfectly fit your bill. One could suggest the Air Force Delta games, but the Ace Combat games all look better, play better, and have better stories. Also, for you dismiss stories as girl stuff is a HUGE cover up. You and your brother probably listen to Lady Gaga, follow Perez Hilton, and share a bed. The stories, especially the Ace Combat stories, are what make the game. Your target threshold speed should be 130 knots in landing configuration ie full flaps and gear down. Touch down as near as you dare to the piano keys and as soon as the nosewheel down select full reverse and full brakes. Happy landing.
