This question is a memory-jolter for me.The name B. Speight comes to mind at once for me. This was the placeholder name often used in accounting examples in the UK back in the 1970s.Other than that, Fothergill is one of those English surnames that sounds unmistakably English, and that appeals to me for no special reason.Another favourite English surname (yes, they all seem to be English for some reason) is Fortescue (for-tez-kew), which was originally Old French introduced into England at the time of the Norman Conquest in 1066.Thanks to Sahal Asghar for the A2A.
