Vegan snack ideas?

So I eat a snack every 2 hours. The reason I eat like this is because I love eating so instead of eating 3 meals and tons of snacks, I'll just eat around 10 healthy vegan snacks. The problem is, I am starting to get bored of the same snacks everyday but I can't think of any new ones. Anyone out there who know healthy delicious snacks?

What are your favorite vegan snack recipes?

I like the Tofu Recipes for Weight LossProtein SmoothiesIf you plan on going for a smoothie diet, you may be worried about your protein source. However, if you are also not the type to rely on protein powders, you can use raw tofu for your smoothies. First, tofu doesn’t have a lot of flavors, which is why it wouldn’t interfere with the flavor of the smoothie. Moreover, the tofu can also enhance the consistency of the smoothie.Baked TofuWhen I am in the mood for fried tofu, I get the next best thing: Baked Tofu! I try to squeeze out all the water in the tofu to ensure that it is cooked better and it will become crispier. I also pre-heat the oven to 350◦ Fahrenheit. Once I have laid out the tofu on the baking sheet, I would sprinkle some oil on the tofu and season the tofu with seasonings before popping it in the oven.Grilled TofuI love tofu in whatever form even as barbeque or kebab. Similar to baked tofu, I begin by squeezing out water from the tofu. This allows me to make sure that the tofu will be grilled to a crisp. I marinate the tofu in some soy sauce and lemon before putting the tofu in a stick with some vegetables in between. Afterward, I pour in some oil on the tofu to make sure that this will result in some nice grilled marks.Steamed TofuSteamed tofu is similar to boiled tofu without using water. This is one of my favorite methods of cooking tofu since I love soft tofu. It keeps the tofu soft and silky and it virtually requires no preparation. I just drizzle a bit of sesame oil over the tofu along with a bit of salt.

Whats your favourite vegetarian snack?

I best like tangerines: natural packaging, easy to eat, have sugar with the right amount of fiber, juicy. They’re slightly “better” chilled, but they can hang around in a backpack or in a car for a few days and they’re still great!Avocados are a definite close second. The “trouble” with them is needing a knife, which I typically have one nearby, but the salt and lemon juice I really enjoy adding to avocado is not so handy….Dates are also one of my favorite snacks: easy energy, good micronutrients, minimal packaging, no need to take special care. Oh. And sweet, simple to eat.Spicy toasted seaweed and nooch seasoned dehydrated kale “chips” are also some of my go-to vegan snacks but they have bigger price tags, larger environmental footprints, and really require something extra to drink, too.If it’s an “at home” snack—as opposed to a hiking or running-around-town snack—and I can hit the refrigerator? Edamame, hummus and baby carrots, or chips and salsa.Tangerines top my list. =)

What is the best place to find gluten free & vegan desserts?

There are low in gluten dessert stores which also do vegan food. Know that manufacturers legally can’t claim gluten free but they can claim low in gluten. Unless there is an exception in the US, you will have to find low in Gluten food.India has some of the best vegan food and they naturally have created lots of low in gluten recipes. They make desserts and savoury with rice flour, potatoes, lentils and fruits. Some Middle Eastern desserts are also made of rice flour, nuts, dried fruits and semolina. Meritorious has desserts made of cassava and other plant products. Hence you could try Asian or certain African desserts. I have to warn you that some the desserts are extremely sweet and buttery however the choices are endless and if you keep trying, you may find something of your desire. My personal liking is the ice cold Rasmalai, milk whey balls in a milky sauce. The East Indian versions are the best. However as a vegan you could ask for the desserts based on coconut or almond milk.

What are some vegan Ukrainian snacks?

Not exactly snacks, but almost the entire Ukrainian Christmas Eve feast of twelve dishes is vegan. (Just avoid the fish dishes.)Christmas Eve is an important holiday, the main celebration of the season, but it also happens to be a religious fast day. That means no meat or meat products, no dairy, and no eggs (fish is not “meat,” by this reckoning). For this dinner, meat fats are replaced with oil; traditionally flax oil. Flavours are enhanced by browning onions and using flavourful ingredients like porcini mushroom (genus Boletus, or hryb in Ukrainian), red beets, and buckwheat honey.A typical menu might include:Kutia, a porridge of wheat berries, bruised poppy seeds, and honey, and possibly raisins and walnutsBeet borscht (borshch)Vushka (“little ears”), tortellini stuffed with mushrooms, served in the borschtCabbage rolls (holubtsi), made with fresh or pickled cabbage leaves, or even beet leaves, stuffed with buckwheat or rice with some onion or mushrooms, possibly roasted in tomato saucePerogies (varenyky, or pyrohy), stuffed with potatoes or sauerkrautMushroom gravyBeans baked with prunesPicklesMarinated mushroomsDried-fruit compote (uzvar, or sushinnya)Pastries, doughnuts (pampushky), honey bread (medivnyk), fritters (khrusty), torte—ask which ones are veganFish—not veganIf you ever get an invitation to Christmas Eve dinner, do not pass it up.
