Truth be told I have so many thoughts that could be answers to this question that n+1 might be more on target than anything else…That said—Limiting the comment to but one dish/drink….Chirashi and hot green teaLearned to enjoy sushi first and then fell in love with the nuanced tastes of the picene delicacies without the rice or wasabi mixed with soy sauce—sashimi. One day, looking at a menu at a place I went during my single days in SoCal (it catered to all the executives from all the Japanese companies in Irvine, Tustin and Lake Forest/El Toro) I noticed the Chirashi…16 pieces of sashimi on a bed of sushi rice for $15 (this was back in the day) and ordered it.Friggin’ thought I had died and gone to heaven…

If you're into Oriental flavored food, try some Indonesian Nasi Goreng! It is like the ultimate and origanl fried rice, which makes the ones we get form take away shops look bland. It can be made at home. If you like Italian flavours, try Gnocchi. It is a pasta made of potato and is great complimented with a Napolenta sauce. Can be made at home, from scratch with your own potatoes. If you like Middle Eastern flavours, try Bell peppers stuffed with Fetta. It is widely available and compliments crackers and cheese at a dinner party. If you like hearty Swiss flavours, try Bircher museli. It is a specail tpye of museli which is soaked overnight n water or apple juice. The mix contains plenty of dates, apples and sultanas, althoguh it varies from brand to brand. Can be made at home. goes great with a dollop of yoghurt and fresh mango at breakfast time. If you like a spicy Mongolian flavour, try Mongolian lamb. Generally served on a hot plate, it includes lamb (obviously), hoisin suace, oyster sauce, garlic and many other traditional condiments. If you like Australaian bush tucker, try Kangaroo meat. It is on the rise in availablity, with a unique taste, it is the worlds second leanest meat, making it extra good for you. ( The leanest meat is Emu meat, coincdently, aslo from Australia.) If you like the startling flavours of Iceland, try Hakarl, also known as rotten shark! Just joking! Try a shrimp pyramid, which is traditional to iceland. Kind of obvious what is in it lol
