What was your first impression of your best friend?

Honestly I didn't think of him as a good person. He is really very good looking and I had this issue that he will be rude in nature. But honestly he turned out being totally opposite of that. And when we started talking, we found out we have many things in common. Soon the meetings became often and phone calls were of longer duration. Today, I feel the best when I am around him and I just go to some other world when I am with him. We reads my mind and has the reason for why I have mentioned some statement. We can just talk about anything for hours. It feels as if when we are together, we don't need anyone around. We have alot difference. He is shy but I am expressive in natureHe is a boy I am a girl.He is fairer than me.I love reading novels but he hates them.He is an extrovert but i am less than him.But after all this at the end of the day, I know we love each other alot.

Use one word to describe your first impression on this guy (also what would you say to him if you could?)?

when introduced to someone, he does not even get out of his chair to shake someone's hand.

does not let people merge if they don't have their blinker on (he knows they want in... he can see them edging towards his lane, into the open space in front of him... he just doesn't want to let them in because they aren't using their signal)

speeds in the slow lane.

flakes out on a lot of friends... his word is not really worth much unless he stands to gain something from following through.

never cleans his room / car

How do you give off a tough impression?

I hang around with my bigger guy friends. People are afraid of them. Some people are afraid of me too, just make it clear and show that if they tick you off,it's gonna get messy.

What is the meaning of the metaphor 'First impression is the last impression'?

Okay so let me try to put it in an easily comprehensible way.You must have seen or heard the tale of Cinderella right? If you've seen the non animated version of the movie, you'll notice that the actress isn't quite as charming or appealing as a princess is expected to be BUT she has been shown as such an amiable and compassionate person that everyone adores her. If you were to meet such a person who is alway helpful and always has a smile on his/her face wouldn’t it leave a pleasing impression on you?Another person who may be very good at heart but is always frowning wouldn’t seem to be as charming as the girl above. So the first impression or the first thought that comes to your mind regarding a person will be an everlasting one and that would be the base of any friendship/relationship with the person.

What is your first impression after watching "The Accidental Prime Minister" trailer?

My first impression is that MMS is portrayed as victim rather than weak. Also first voice over tells you that he is like a Bhishma in Mahabharat who is a victim of a family drama, but there are two families in Mahabharat, while there is only one family now. Also there is sharp criticism on dynasty politics by commenting that over 100 crore people’s fate is decided by one family of two or three. Also he asks simple questions such as “whether NSC decides what is to be done by PM”.And also it is portrayed that he want to implement nuclear policy, solve Kashmir issue and many other problems but Sonia Gandhi objected to it to be solved by Rahul Gandhi when he becomes PM.And also it is portrayed that Sonia is waiting for right occasion for Rahul Gandhi to take the chair. It is also portrayed that there is fight between party and MMS and when he offered to resign, sonia rejected it saying that Rahul Gandhi can not cope up with the present corruption charges against so many UPA ministers. Thus it was portrayed as Sonia want Manmohan Singh as scapegoat. So how far it is true we do not know.I have read one question in quora why Anupam Kher has taken this role as MMS when he is against congress. Actually that is the main reason he has taken the role. In the movie, Sonia and congress party are villains.Anupam kher is excellent in his acting. As usual Akshaye Khanna as sanjay baru is a perfect fit.Suzanne Bernert as sonia Gandhi is 100% copy of original. I am very impressed with her imitation. But having said all that will it be commercially successful? Because common people are not so much interested in this type of politics and many do not understand them. It may be acclaimed by the critics, but commercial success is doubtful.I feel that the truth is bent towards MMS for glorifying him.

What are your opinions on these two pictures?

I think in both cases the hands look awkward and tense, not relaxed. The hand in the first picture looks tentative. The fist in the second shows a lack of commitment to the touching or even a sense of insecurity or jealousy on the part of the toucher. The presence of the other shoulder in the second picture shows the touching is going on in a group setting and that the fist may be because the toucher is trying to avoid making contact with the third person. So it seems the touchers are probably in a social setting with multiple people and there could be all kinds of complex dynamics going on motivating the posturing. The touch is a bit of intimacy that may be awkward with others present. It's impossible to know why the hands look uncomfortable. It could be that the hands are about to fall off the shoulder, or that the toucher isn't getting warm vibes from the touched. Or the hands are tired or the position puts a strain or cramps the unseen arm.Without seeing the faces of the touchers, it's impossible to correlate the hand posture with the emotions in the setting. But, I just made all that up and am probably projecting my own awkwardness into it. People love to speculate, and when doing so may reveal their own thoughts and not those of the people they are viewing.

What are some pictures of New Jersey that show why people call it the "armpit of America?"

The parts of New Jersey that most people know (before Jersey Shore, and don't even get me started on that) are right outside of NYC and right outside of Philly. Right outside of Philly are Trenton and Camden, two cities that have major urban issues with schools, crime and the like. (Not that Philadelphia's been so hot the last decade or so.) Right outside of NYC are Hoboken, Jersey City and Newark. And until the last 10-15 years, Hoboken & Jersey City were known mostly as Hobroken and Jersey Shitty (by those who didn't live there). The cost to live in Manhattan, combined with the exodus from Lower Manhattan after Sept. 11 caused a lot of yuppie-types to move to those two cities and changed them not inconsiderably.Add to that all the oil refineries in Linden, south of Port Newark and Port Elizabeth, which also are right off the Turnpike, and most people's first impression of Jersey is that it's a pit. It's also known as the Garden State and has lots of beautiful shoreline, huge vacant swaths of nature (such as the Pine Barrens, made famous in that one Sopranos episode), the Delaware Water Gap shared with Pennsylvania and is on the foothills of the Poconos, so lots of very hilly areas with lovely trails, waterfalls, lakes, and wooded areas. Most people who don't live in Jersey never see the really nice parts. Which is why I grew up very nearby, on Long Island, and always made fun of Dirty Jersey. Go figure.

Is the sentence that "I don't have a good image (or impression) in people" grammatical?

If you are thinking about others and the kind of impression they've made on you, you might say, "His poor self-image tends to spill over into the first impression he gives others."Ashwin Raghuraman's "I don't make a good impression on people" is a good sentence. But your own "People's impression of me is not good" isn't bad. The sentence could be a little better with a minor change: "People's impressions of me are not good." The slight change reflects many impressions in your opinion and not just one generalized impression. You can also say "People don't think very highly of me" or "People don't have a good impression of me." But you specifically asked how to use "image" and "impression" correctly.
