Annoying female leads in shoujo mangas?
my question is like why?! why do a lot of shoujo mangas have female leads that do nothing but cry and basically serve sometimes as a sex slave to the male characters. I mean I'd punch the guy who treated me that way, not cower in a corner and cry. and why are so many shoujo manga girls so helpless? who comes up with these plots and why? This is just a general trend I have come across when searching for shoujo mangas. I literally find a manga read its description, read the first few pages, and stop right there because the girl is already crying or weak or feels bad for herself etc. also some mangas with strong female leads greatly appreciated: ex: skip beat (kind of)
What are your top five worst cliches for shoujo manga?
I'm compiling a list of shoujo cliches for an original manga of mine which is supposed to blatantly try and do the opposite of the cliche. I'd like to know what are the most hated, the ones that occur the most, and the ones that just cause you to roll your eyes. You can give me a cliche that only occurs in shoujo or a cliche that applies also in other manga but occurs in shoujo manga too. An example for a shoujo cliche (which also applies in other manga): Being late and rushing for the first day of school. Another example: The main girl goes for the bad boy or the dysfunctional one that may treat her badly.
What is your ideal shoujo male character? and stereotypes and cliches?
I am rather curious to know what you like and dislike about shoujo male characters here is my list of likes and complaints I hate it: - they try to be forceful (usually invovles them to steal the main characters first kiss, etc) - when the male lead acts like an asshole - they try to take their virginity by force but usually stops halfway after seeing their tears.\ - having no other good qualities besides their looks - full of themselves - etc I like: - ok I do kinda like their forceful side but only when they have the girl's consent. - my perfect vision of a male lead is Usui Takumi (from Kaichou wa Maid-sama XD) he is perfect ................. too perfect :3 I like how he tries to keap his place as a perverted outer space alien Kyaaa! - I like that they want to treasure and cherish the girl. - I also like how its sometimes hard for them to control themselves. - tsunderish male characters also turn me on. - when the female lead is in trouble and they make that dont you dare touch my girl face XD stupid cliches: -they do something stupid in order to insure the girl's safety -no offence but I like strong male leads they seem to be weak at first but are actually the strongest person on earth. - looks like a delinqunt but is actually the kindest person ever so this what I could think of so tell me your type? what do you like? do you like em intersting like I do your do you actually enjoy the cliches?
Which anime should I watch (underrated but good story line)?
Well this is a tricky question. There are many anime which are underrated because of biased or versatile opinions and tastes. I will list down some underrated anime which I found to be good.Btooom! (Genres: Action, Sci-Fi, Psychological, Seinen, Mystery): Btooom is a story about Ryouta Sakamoto who is world’s one of the best BTOOOM, an online game, player. Suddenly when he opens his eyes one day, he finds himself in an unknown island and is forced to play the game BTOOOM in real life to continue living. He soon meets different people who competes him and tries to outsmart him in this real life survival game. Honestly speaking, I liked it more than Sword Art Online in terms of action, mystery and even romance.2. Charlotte (Genres: Drama, School, Super Power): Charlotte is an original story by Jun Maeda, writer of Angel Beats, Clannad, Kanon, Little Busters and Air. So you will know what to expect from this anime if you have seen any of his anime (since they are all sad-types). It narrates the sad story about a group of children who have superpowers till they are adults who rebel against the scientists and politics who tries to capture them for test experiments.3. Ao Haru Ride (Genres: Comedy, Drama, Romance, School, Shoujo, Slice of Life): If you are into romance, then I would suggest you to watch this anime. This anime has one of the best soundtracks.4. Orange (Genres: Sci-Fi, Drama, Romance, School, Shoujo): Another romance anime but with a different style. Naho Takamiya gets letters from her future self asking her to change the future and avoid doing things which she regrets later in her life.5. Pokemon XY (Genres: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, Kids): Well if you thought that the new Pokemon anime cannot be as good as the old school first season anime, then you were wrong. In Pokemon XY, the characters are finally shown to be mature. Ash observes other characters more and emotions are shown better. Infact there is even one implied kiss scene of Serena and Ash!! It’s not the old Pokemon that you knew. It can be said to be even better! The fights have also improved a great deal. Give it a try!
