What Is Your Most Nostalgic Soundtrack From Kingdom Hearts

What's your favourite nostalgic soundtrack?

The Little Mermaid's "Under the Sea"

What is the best soundtrack of a videogame?

Most RPGs have great soundtracks in a sense that they really set the fantasy mood of the game. When you play a lot of RPGs though, this becomes somewhat expected and normal that you wouldn't consider them outstanding from the other RPGs. As i play a lot of RPGs, there is not one that i would consider standing out of the other soundtracks of RPGs. Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, Witcher, etc., soundtracks to me are all great but not something i will elect as best since it's within my expectations. For me, i am quite surprised how good and appropriate the soundtracks of the first game of Life is Strange are. Most of the soundtracks have lyrics instead of the usual grand instrumetal you hear from RPGs. Life is Strange is an emotional game and the soundtracks remind you of every emotional point within the game. It is not as grand as you will hear in RPGs but everytime you hear one of the scores, you are brought back to the emotion of the game. It's very nostalgic and gripping. The soundtracks are too appropriate for the game genre and intent.

What video game track makes you feel nostalgic?

Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, and 3 & Knuckles’ soundtracks, plus Sonic 4’s soundtrack if it were done in 16-bit plus Socket (a.k.a. Time Dominator in Japan) which, of course, is sort of like a clone of Sonic the Hedgehog.0:00-2:38Socket… Ehh… The music is solid but the sound effects are ear gratingly bad. When your energy is low, you are treated to a pinging alarm from one of the PSG sound channels that is even much more worse than Zelda and only seems to get louder in intensity as your energy meter runs lower and lower until you die!Anyway, all’s I can say here is that classic Mega Man 1, 2, 3, 4 to X4 and Mega Man 9 are my personal favorites plus the 16-bit versions of Sonic 1 to 3 & Knuckles… Plus Sonic 4 if it were in 16-bit like what I did in OpenMPT the other day with Mad Gear Zone - Acts 1 to 3.Sonic 4 - Episode 1 - Mad Gear Zone - Act 10:00-1:18Sonic 4 - Episode 1 - Mad Gear Zone - Act 20:00-1:16Sonic 4 - Episode 1 - Mad Gear Zone - Act 30:00-1:17I have a few from Sonic 4 - Episode 2. All of them were in the MIDI format transformed into 16-bit goodness and for the original MIDIs (some of them are XGs), they belong to the original MIDI sequencers who made the MIDIs themselves but anyway, this is all I can really think of that is both the best and nostalgic I can think of.

What is your favourite movie or video game soundtrack?

GamesMy three favourite Game Soundtracks are-1. UndertaleMost folk on the web, even those who aren't particularly fond of this game, think the Soundtrack is amazing.2. Vampire-The MasqueradeI could listen to Lecher Bitch for hours. Every song fits the scenario quite well. Each nightclub has its own song for the soundtrack, whereas most games just reuse the songs from earlier.3. Most Pokémon Game Battle ThemesI love every song from Pokémon Red and Blue, Cynthia’s theme is beautiful, and Pokémon Sun/Moon has arguably the best set of themes in Pokémon history.Honourable Mention - World Of Goo.Am I the only one who remembers this game? I loved everything about it. The challenging puzzles, the Sign Writer, MOM, and especially the final level of Chapter 2. I can still hear the final level music in my head.Movies1. SerenityI is Firefly nerd. But that doesn't bias me AT ALL.Seriously though Serenity’s soundtrack is perfect and beautiful and now Ron Glass is dead so I cry even more watching this movie.Ron Glass - Wikipedia2. Star WarsNeed I say anything?3. How to Train Your Dragon (Both)Though I personally prefer the sequel, both movies and their soundtracks are perfect. I suggest Where No One Goes (Dragon 2) and Test Flight (Dragon 1)\U0001f409\U0001f4324. Moana/Hunchback of Notre DameMoana is my all time favourite Disney movie. And I adore every second of it, including the songs. But, to be perfectly fair, Hunchback has a better soundtrack. Hellfire gives me chills, and the whole thing just has the perfect songs matched to the perfect scenes. But those F’ing Gargoyles! NO.Honourable MentionAll the other Disney movies.Lion King especially.

What piece of video game music is the most meaningful to you?

Some games absolutely blow my mind when it comes to their musical compositions. Games like Nier Automata really push the boundaries of what music can do for the player in video games.I genuinely believe that when music is combined with something you enjoy or a story you love, its becomes far more meaningful to you. There have been many songs in my life time from video games that give me such a different feeling while listening to them. Some make me feel sad and alone while others make me feel happy and nostalgic. Here’s a list of my top favorite ones that when I listen to, envoke a range of different feelings in me.Final Fantasy XIII Lightning Returns - 03 Lightning’s theme Distant LightKingdom Hearts - PassionKingdom Hearts - Dearly Beloved (for me, this song and the song above are the most beautiful when played on the piano by Kyle Landry)Gravity Rush 2 - A red apple fell from the skyDragon Age Inquisition - Sera was never

Gamers, what are video game songs that have hit you so hard with nostalgia that you felt it?

The mass effect 3 score makes me want to fire the trilogy up straight away especially ‘leaving earth’ and ‘farewell and into the inevitable’ which plays at that introspective moment before boarding the Normandy after the citadel party (best DLC of all time if you played the trilogy from the start). Some tracks from Halo (‘Never forget’ and ‘ghosts of reach’) tug at the heart strings and the nostalgia strings. The opening theme from Arcanum (“Demise of the Zephyr”) really takes me back to the golden age of isometric RPG and so does inkspots ‘maybe’ for the same reason (fallout 1) but that was already a song and not written fro a game. And maybe the good old Tristram theme from Diablo.

What are the best video game boss themes?

They already mentioned good ones from FF7, and I'm biased to that game, anyway.Battle on the Big Bridge - FF5Dancing Mad - FF6 Premonition; Maybe I'm a Lion; The Extreme - FF8Challenge - FFX (particularly in context, watch the scene before fighting Yunalesca)Vim and Vigor - Kingdom Hearts IIFight and Away - Kingdom Hearts 358/2 DaysVector to the Heavens - KH 358/2 Days (The orchestral version on YT has over 1 million views. Consider that.)battleland; hepatica (KOS-MOS vs. Telos) - Xenosaga Episode III: Also Sprach ZarathustraDuel - Metal Gear SolidYell Dead Cell; Father and Son - Metal Gear Solid 2The Fear; The Fury; Takin' on the Shagohod - Metal Gear Solid 3Laughing Octopus - Metal Gear Solid 4 (the weakest of the series, and the BB Corps lacked imagination and characterization, but of the four, this chick creeped me out)Femmes Fatale; U.B. - Parasite EveSteel Giant; Knight of Fire; Awakening - Xenogears
