What Is Your Opinion On Planet Fitness

Do you agree with my opinion of planet fitness?

well planet fitness is pretty controversial for their hostile attitude towards bodybuilders and lunks. i think they pushed it way to far because they say its a judgement free zone and they humiliate people who grunt or drop weights loudly with a lunk alarm while i think strong muscular people who judge others or try to show off should be in a different gym than other people who aren't at their level yet they should not be humiliated publicly because its just not right if it were to happen the other way around and a fat person was humiliated with a fattty alarm they would get sued. i myself am overweight and i think planet fitness is an ok gym because well im 16 and dont have a job i will soon but i cant dish out 50 dollars a month for a gym membership to La fitness which i prefer for its wider range of machines and size. overall while planet fitness suits my needs the minute i get the money i need im going to la fitness. to make it a better gym planet fitness should remove the frikin lunk alarm and allso stop giving out free tootsie rolls and pizza and bagels once a month while its ok to have a cheat day once a month your gym should not tempt you with 500 boxes of pizza or hundreds of bagels they should give out like free raisins or dried fruits or something healthier

Planet Fitness..?

I have never been to a planet fitness or a golds gym. Finding a good gym is as important as finding a good hair stylist or a good doctor. If the one your at has everything that you need and you don't have to wait to use machines because the membership is a bit smaller then why change. I tend to support the smaller gyms because they're more personable. The more trendy gyms while they may have more machines( because they're expecting a bigger membership) and lots of glitz and glitter the membership dues are substantially greater. Most of the big chain gyms are a good place to pick up or get picked up....hit on and stuff. If that's what you like then spend the big money. The 10$ rate is a come on to get you in there...........I bet they even offer to deduct the membership fees from your debit or credit cards too. How convenient is that......lol..........only fools fall for that one. No grunting or dropping the weights............so if you have a mishap your done.or scolded, and you have to train in silence, not that you have to scream to train but there is times that someone may let out a yelp. How about dress code? Signing up to use machines? Support your local gym........your going to better off in the long run, heck the guy/woman at the front desk may even know you by name....lol Let others join the other gym listen to what they will say after a period of time. Wait for the 10$ a month come on pass and then see what the rate is. If it's cheaper then where your at now, then by all means join. If it's the same price as where you are now then by all means join. Lots of machines and lots of chrome and lots of light, lots of hot guys, lots of hot chicks, none of those constitute a good gym. 10$ a month for a year is very attractive but one thing I can guarantee THEY WILL GET THEIR MONEY OUT OF YOU LATER!

How old do you have to be to join planet fitness?

Yes your mom has to sign the waver just that once when you sign up cause your not 18. I'm only 15 and when I signed up I got the black card (which you have to be 16 for) and my dad just said I was 16 and they went with it. They want your money so they most likely wouldn't deny you anything. They also say that you have to be 18 to tan but I'm 15 and I tan all the time without problems.

I hope you like it there!! I love it! :)

How old do you have to be to tan at planet fitness?

Legally you have to be 18 to tan anywhere without parental permission. But if you are 14, you can pretty much go anywhere as a long as a parent signs you up for it.

Planet Fitness worth it?

I hate Planet Fitness. I go there on my lunch break - after work is too croweded. Honestly, you get what you pay for. I would join another gym that offers classes. I have 2 gym memberships - planet fitness for work and an independent gym near home. However, I've recently started Bikram Yoga..$120/mo unlimited and its helping me in ways I never thought possible.

I think your best bet would be YMCA. At my local PF, half the machines are broken and you have to wait in line to get a treadmill during peak hours.

Why is Planet Fitness a joke?

I wouldn’t say it’s a joke exactly. It’s perfect for a niche group of people.I personally could not use Planet Fitness. I can’t stand the “judgment free zone” hypocrisy. They do judge you, but for the opposite reason we should be judged. Rather than judging the overweight, out of shape, jello jiggler that is using every single machine wrong and eating pizza on the stationary bike, they judge the guy deadlifting 400lbs that grunts when he lifts. That’s insanity to me.But I also kinda like it. Why? It keeps (most) people who are completely ignorant to how working out should be done away from my gym and lets them sit in their little “judgment free zone” where they will remain doing the same exercises incorrectly for 10 years and never lose a pound. Meanwhile I’m surrounded (mostly) by people who are serious about lifting and intent on getting incredibly in shape. Some still do things wrong, but they might actually let you correct them and adapt.Planet Fitness has value to two groups:1: People intimidated by actual weight lifters.2: People who want to pretend they are getting a workout so they feel better about themselves. There is nothing wrong with being in group number 1. I know plenty of people who fit this and I support them every chance I get!But I personally could never stand the gym. Hypocrisy, lousy weights, and just not my scene.

What's so bad about Planet Fitness?

There are many reasons why other commercial gyms are better than this cheaper alternative. Stop falling for their tricks and by the end of this article you’ll definitely want to cancel your membership!1. No BarbellsWhat is a gym without barbells? Planet Fitness doesn’t own any free barbells because they are afraid that someone is going to end up getting hurt. Barbells are the main reason that a lot of people go to the gym in the first place. Smith machines are not as optimal, so why would someone want to settle for less? Bench pressing with the Planet Fitness smith machine doesn’t target your medial delt near as much as a free barbell does. Squatting with a smith machine might have a higher risk of injury than the normal barbell squat because of the unnatural plane movement. This gym is definitely not a great gym for heavy compound movements. The only free weights that Planet Fitness owns are the dumbbells. Atleast they have those!2. The "Lunk Alarm"The Lunk Alarm is also a great way for people to want to avoid your gym. Every time someone drops weights or wears the wrong gym attire, the gym employees at the Planet Fitness will sound the Lunk Alarm. Once they turn it on, it’ll blare loudly throughout the whole gym and a Planet Fitness employee will come escort you out. A great workout involves dropping some weights right? Who would want to workout anyways if you cant drop a heavy deadlift?3. No Bags on Gym FloorPlanet Fitness also thinks it’s a great idea to not allow gym bags in a gym. Are they afraid that if you take a gym bag inside, you’re going to take extra free pizza home to your family on Planet Fitness’s pizza days? How are you going to bring in your intra-workout gummy bears or hardgainer powder without a gym bag? Jokes aside, some gym equipment is essential for your training purposes. You would need chalk or straps for some heavy exercises or knee wraps for squats. Why would someone want to go to a gym that limits them on what they can bring inside?4. No Stringers or Crop TopsNo stringers or crop tops are allowed at a lot of Planet Fitness gyms worldwide. It seems like they don’t want you looking at your delts and arms or the side boob action during the workout. Would you want to go to a gym that tells you what to wear? It’s like a school that no one likes because of the specific dress code. Most of my best workouts have been with stringers just so I can see the massive pump I have.>>Click my bio for my free Physique eBook and more goodies!

Is what my trainer at planet fitness told me true?

She said that I had to 6 meals a day. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner with snacks with tons of protein after each main course. Then when I go to the gym I should warm up for 10 mins. on any cardio machine. Afterwards she said I should work to 2 muscle groups on some of the machines and or dumbells they provide at the gym. Once I do 3 sets of 12 reps during 4 exercises for each of the two muscle groups, she said I should end with 30 min. of cardio. I pondered whether or not she was giving me accurate information. Am I going to see results following what she said, or is she telling me lies. I don't want to end up sticking to this for 3 months and not see any results. If it isn't true, please give your suggestions on how her advice could be improved. Most people seem to know what they're doing in the gym, but I'm pretty clueless when it comes to fitness and getting ripped. Its also might be because I'm 16, so if there are any fitness models, trainers, or whoever that want to give me advice just leave your opinions on what she said below. I'm counting on you. The reviews on Planet Fitness are terrible :)

Is Planet Fitness mostly for women?

Planet Fitness is for anyone and everyone. I would say we had about equal numbers of both men and women at my club. I go 5 to 6 days a week and I have met some pretty amazing members over the last 5 years, some I now consider great friends. Some great benefits about Planet Fitness is you can be at any level of skill to go to PF, from novice to veteran. Nobody is going to judge you, under rare circumstances that you feel someone is making you uncomfortable make sure to notify the member services personnel and they will take care of it.You can be as competitive as you want, work out as hard as you want, and be whoever you want when your in a PF. Remember to be respectful and treat other members like you would a friend or family member, I can assure you if you do this, you will enjoy your membership.Members come up and ask me occasionally if I can show them how to do a certain machine, I try to assist them the best I can. At the end of the day, I try and point them in the direction of the fitness trainer so they can get a “Design Your Own" fitness skillsheet done; a trainer designs a program for you tailored to your skill level and goals. I definitely recommend this for all new members.
