What Job Can I Get When Im 16

My parents are making me get a job and im only 16?

Ehh... Getting a job sucks, but once you start making your own money and being able to buy whatever you want, it's all worth it. I was in the same position as you. Once I realized that I had over two thousand dollars in the bank, it gave me a sense of accomplishment. I know this sounds lame... but really It's not all that bad.

When i get my driver's permit, I'm gonna have to pay for everything on my own..... but i Don't have a job and I'm have a LOT of trouble finding one.

I have tried almost every business in this small town and everywhere i try, I'm told, "You have to be 18 to work here" or "We're not hiring right now" or "We're going out of business"....

So what do i do?? I've been looking for 2 years! I have to buy a car, and save up money before i graduate in 2 years. I'm freakin' out!

Help, please!

I'm 16 why can't I get a job?

This may sound like a strange answer but your resume is too good. Think of it this way, you are an employer at wal-mart, you don't want a computer programmer, or someone with allot of other skills as they are not likely to stick around for long.

You need to custom tweak each resume depending on the job. Your resume sounds like you are 25 years old with allot of business experience. Now don't get me wrong that is fantastic! But it is not what an employer might be looking for.

Just one extra tip, I don't like the:

"To obtain a position that will enable me to use my strong communication skills, customer-oriented background and ability to work well with people."

It is too impersonal you should say something like:

"I have strong communication skills and enjoy working with people. I feel I could be a asset to any company as I have experience in dealing with customers and get on well with others"

Hope that helps : )

I am 16 years old. Why is it so hard for me to get a job?

You’re a massive risk. You have little education, no unique skills, and no record of success. Anyone considering hiring you doesn’t have a way to evaluate important soft skills, including work ethic and perseverance. Also, since you’re not an adult, there are extra rules and restrictions on what sorts of tasks and hours you can do. For some employers, you’re an insurance liability, and your labor is not worth the additional insurance cost. Now, if you know someone (likely a friend or family member) who works at a place which hires part time, low skill workers, you might be able to use that to get in. Or, there’s often a surge of retail hiring in the fall prior to the Christmas season. You might not have said job come January, but it will give you some experience.

I'm 16, should I get a job or play sports?

This is a great question because many don't think about this decision; most just do what sounds fun. I'm going to assume that balancing both isn't an option for whatever reason, schedule conflict probably. Your teenage years are a great time to hold a job. Without any life-dependent bills you can save as much as you want. With a parent's help you can even start investing long-term. And of course, the benefit of having money to freely spend. The penalties to having a job vary from person to person. I myself struggle with keeping up on school and having a job, but you could be different. A job can also be mentally strenuous which could affect all aspects of life, keep this in mind when job hunting. Sports are a great thing to be involved in. They can increase your team-oriented skills, they are a good way to blow off steam, and they can even lead to scholarships. With the added exposure you also have the potential to make more friends, which is always a good thing. One downside to sports is the schedule. There aren't many ways to avoid a big game, so the schedule is often less flexible than a job. No one can give a definite answer on which you should do, especially without knowing your schedule. In my opinion, I think you should get a job. Be picky and get one you don't absolutely hate. After bills, save 50%, invest 25%, and use 25% for entertainment purposes.

Where can a 16 year old apply for a job?

I have been working at McDonalds for about a year now and am turning 16 next week. I would like a new job but am out of ideas, as everywhere else I've wanted to work is fully staffed.

Does anyone have any?
I'm looking north of Dallas if that makes a difference.

I'm 16 years old. Can I do an online job?

Hi there!Of course you can do an online job. There are some that I wouldn’t recommend for a 16 year old, such as match betting, stock trading, gambling etc. There are plenty of online opportunities for you to make extra cash that are age restricted.Opportunities include:Website ReviewingWebsite reviewing is just starting to take off - its extremely do as you supply your verbal feedback whilst completing a set of tasks for the site. You can get paid quite handsomely especially for the time it takes to complete the review - i.e. anywhere between 5 to 15 minutes of work and you can land yourself £8 ($10.5 USD). I recommend checking out UserTest.io. They’re recruiting people like you to review websites in your spare time. You can sign-up at : Become a website tester - you need to complete a sample website review first, before you can start reeving paid reviews to complete.Paid for searching the webSites like Qmee reward you for searching the web through Google, Bing or Yahoo. You jsut have to install a simple browser add-on and when you conduct a search, there may be a few sponsored results alongside your normal search results. Each Qmee search results has a cash reward attached. If you’re interested in the the link, just click it and you’ll collect the reward. There’s no minimum to cashout either!Review music for cashIf you love music, then Slicethepie is for you. It can take some time to build up a reputation but some users have reported that they earn £40 a month . It’s not a great deal, but for a 16 year old, you have to start somewhere.CompetitionsI recommend creating a dedicated Gmail account for this. Setup a gmail account an enter cash giveaway competitions. I know it’s not the best job in the world, but who knows, you may just get lucky!Hope this helps you out!

Should I quit my job - I am 16 years old?

You are 16. You have just started your commercial life and “Career” (if there is such a thing these days).Firstly a 10:00 to 19:00 hrs shift is a 9 hour working day (Particularly for a Sunday, when you should be preparing for school); secondly you are still at school, and in the UK there is actually a limit to the number of hours a child can work; whether for “pocket money” or as it seems in your case a fully operational, albeit part-time job. When I was sixteen, I had left school and working full time in a bank a 35 hour week, in the UK at that age you can work a 37.5 week maximum up to the age of 18. After that you are an adult and what you work and time wise is your own business. You clearly want to go in to the electronics/computer hardware sector, so the job that you are doing is going to support your work plans for what may be the rest of your life. I should mention it is easier to change career direction the younger you are, so if you feel that computing and software is going to be your future take advantage of the experience by all means, but do not let it run your life. You are sixteen and you should be out socialising and expanding your contact base. Indeed mixing with people in your age group, may mean that you find even more contacts (if you pardon the pun on electronics) to other areas of the business and companies that may give you a better set of options. Hey, on the way you even meet a girlfriend -:)You need a social life when you are younger, equally you need to save as well, but you don’t want work to take over your life (as it nearly did with me) and you want an income for a social life but how much would your parents help you to balance the books (so to speak).Enjoy your early working years, have a social life whilst you have a diposble income, before you get bogged down with really heavy issues such as mortgages and other responsibilities. It is all very fine and large to say :”start your family as soon as you can”, but children are a hell of a responsibility (ask you mum & dad -:) ) .
