What Job Would You Recommend Me To Get

What would you recommend, job wise?

Here's my situation. After being chaptered out of the military (honorable discharge), I moved back with my mother and I got a retail job a number of years ago, and figured to do that while getting a degree at Tech School. Move out on my own once my career got off on the right foot. When trying to decide what degree I should go for, I tried to be practical. My imagination has always been one of my biggest strengths and I had originally thought of maybe something akin to art, journalism, photography, etc etc.

The chances of making a decent living wage are harder. (The term 'starving artist' didn't just come from out of the blue.) So, I decided that maybe I could do something where I could make money (computer field), but still be somewhat allowed to use my creativity. I narrowed it to Web Design, or Internet Technologies (which later became Web Tech).

Long story short, I am NOT one of these 'tech geeks' who gets off on this stuff. A lot of it bores me to tears. I got an associates in Web Tech, but am not sure what to do with it. Number one, it seems like I must have learned 30 things during the course of getting the degree. I'm not even sure which ones are a priority to keep 'brushed up' on, or where to start.

A number of jobs also say they want someone to have a certain amount of experience in sayyyyy....PHP or some other language for example. One friend told me to apply anyway. See, this is where I guess some people can read between the lines better than I can. You can't just LIE about something like that, and I'm no good at just figuring out what parts of the job advertisement were 'priority' skills, as opposed to non-essential. I'm of the STRICT literal mindset. If people don't explain things in DETAIL, I often can get lost, and have to slow down.

Anyway, I'm really not sure if I want to compete with guys who are into programming as a hobby and lifestyle.

But, I really don't know what to do, right now. My two years associates was government paid, but if I went back to school now, it would be out of my own pockets. We are struggling just to keep a roof over our heads right now, so money is tight.

I'm short on time, so excuse me if I forgot to add details, as I'm typing this prior to headin to work, but.....
help?

btw: Y!A suggested 'Business and Finance' but I thought I may get more answers here.

What jobs would you recommend? ?

When I turn 16 I'm gonna be looking for a better job then McDonald's and I'm wondering what kind of jobs would you recommend that's not fast food? (and that are common and local in the U.S. like olive garden, the Y, best western, etc) oh and that pays a little more then 7.30 an hour(also when you tell me your recommendation can you tell me the starting rate too that would help a lot thx if you anwser)

What job would you recommend for me? 10 points!?

I used to want to be a veterinarian. But after further research, I honestly don’t know if they get paid enough for how much work they put into their job. There’s 8 years of college/training, but it seems like it doesn’t get paid off. So, I’m now looking for another option just in case this really isn’t right for me.
Here’s what I’m interested in:

Forensic science, such as CSI, or something of that sort.

Any type of doctoring, with animals or humans, EXCEPT surgical or anything like that. If it is something in the medical field, it cannot involve a lot of blood or gory things. Being a doctor interests me, but I couldn’t do surgery.

Or something with psychology, like how the brain works and stuff.

I’ve realized how many crime shows I watch, like real crime shows, not fiction stories
(on I.D Discovery, etc.) and it really astounds me. I think a job like that would really pump my adrenaline, keep me on my toes, and would be interesting. I don’t want to be a cop, just strictly with investigating crimes, like big crimes like murder and so on. Maybe work with fingerprints, DNA, etc.

If I ever DID decide to become something to do with crimes, what characteristics are needed? How would I know its right for me? How long does it take? What’s the annual salary? Is it worth it?

I’m almost 15, I know I’m young to be thinking about this kind of stuff, but I’m really curious.

Thank you in advance for any feedback. Please don’t be rude, I obviously don’t have a lot of information on this subject/career choice.

First figure out what types of people you want to me, why and in what context and then you can narrow down some possibilities. Consider what you like to do and do well because you probably don't want to meet people  when you are in a capacity you do not enjoy as you may not make the best impression on them. Here are some questions yourself:1) What types of people - that relates to many factors but can help you narrow down your options. Do you want to meet single people, older people, younger people, prisoners, athletes, celebrities, students, unemployed people, people from different countries - if all of the above then think about your priorities or just pick a couple groups to focus on as focus is always helpful2) Why - the why can be related to how you meet them, what you do for them or what the expected outcome is. Do you want to meet people for a brief time or build a long term relationship, do you want to meet people  who you are service, helping, collaborating with or just have the opportunity to casually interact with or more. 3) Context is often key - the context can refer to your relationship with them - are they colleagues, co-worker, strangers or the context of the setting and purpose of the meeting. It can also refer to the situational context - including length of time, location, type of interaction. In the end really knowing oneself is important as you navigate and re-invent yourself over time. Once you have somer personal insights go find out what that person likes to do for Fun.

Would you recommend me get a boob job? heeellp!?

I'm going to be one of those who say WHY should you add false objects to your body? Who would you be pleasing by subjecting yourself to the discomfort of surgery? Any one who would disrespect you by saying "Man chest" doesn't deserve your friendship. From your brief description it appears that you have a petite form which many girls wish for. At 17, you may not have finished developing yet and, trust me, your breasts will enlarge someday when you get pregnant and they don't always disappear following childbirth. Cutting yourself only causes pain for you and everyone who loves you. Be proud of what God and nature created and don't allow anyone to make you feel inferior, they're just jealous of your beauty. Good luck!

What Air Force job would you recommend for me?

Hello Thomas,

I don't think that aircraft mechanics in the Air Force spend any time, "drawing schematics."

You are fishing all over the place. It is hard to advice you.

Please contact me privately and give me your background education, age, and work experience.

Don't use abbreviations. Spell out job titles so I don't have to go research them. Thanks.

Security Forces are Air Force Military Police. Cops! Also you will probably end up in Afghanistan or the Middle East guarding convoys and returning fire. Nothing boring about the for a future detective!

What you did in Aviation High School probably has little relationship to what the Air Force will teach you in their schools.

Best Wishes,

Larry Smith
Senior Master Sergeant, USAF (Ret.)
First Sergeant

What Air Force job would you recommend for me?

Toilet Cleaner in a combat zone.
That is about the only thing you are qualified for.

I was a Weapons Systems Repairman and cross trained as a Explosive Ordnance Demolition

Thank you for asking for an answer to your question,"How good is a Udacity Nanodegree? Does it actually help you get a job at companies such as Google, Facebook, Apple, or AT&T?”Practically all general federal government positions that involve managing a program or people will require a 4 year college degree. That degree could be in business or public administration. Those degrees mean that y ou know a little about management. There is more flexibility to apply for many different jobs in the Federal Civil Service in the management areas.Best of luck in your career.

Do you recommend me to major in psychology? ?

I'm 21 years old guy. First year in college.
My current major is computer engineering.
Anyways, i realized that psychology is my thing in life. I just love it and would love to major in psychology
However, I have heard that it's one of the lowest in employments. In other words, I heard so many people say that it's very hard to get a decent job if you only get the bachelor degree.

And I dunno what to do, I like computer engineering, but like I said I just love psychology. One of my friends is a counselor, and he told me I would just shine in psychology.

I think that I have what it takes to be great in it. I might even continue to get the phd.

What would you do if you were in my situation.? Would you major in a field you like or a field that can give you a good job?
Thank you

I would recommend to start with basics of Python, then basics of Statistics and then again solving real live issues on Python. You can look out for some of the free tutorials available on YouTube by DataTrained or the EDx courses.
