How do I go about go about getting into a College University? Maybe starting at a community college? I really would prefer a HS diploma over a g.e.d. I want to got to UTSA and major in Communications / minor and business. This is my dream but it seems like I've Waited to late? Any help or suggestions? Please let me know something!!

Can you get away with lying about having a HS diploma on a job application?

If you're very smart, why haven't you gotten your GED? Make that a priority in your life. GED prep classes are free, or very low cost, and you can also prep for free via GED prep books from the library.

You may be able to get away with this, but a lot of the bigger employers - the chain stores - have HR departments which do check this info. So you may want to focus on smaller, mom and pop types of shops. They'll be less likely to check.

If you get hired, and they find out later you lied about this, they can fire you at that point.

Can you get a good job without a high school diploma?

Yes, but opportunities may be more limited. You can do better if you learn a trade after leaving or skipping high school. You can try getting a GED for good measure. Skilled trades can pay well and are often in demand, and without the burden of student loans for college you could even come out ahead. There is prejudice and discrimination against people who don't go to college and especially high school, but this is not an insurmountable barrier. As you move further beyond school years, your experience and natural ability will become more important, except with backward employers for whom college degrees are non-negotiable.

If you get hired at sprouts and lie about your HS diploma does that cost the job?

my friend recently got hired at Sprouts she had to do a drug test which she passed completely clean, and a final application to do a background check. Now on her application online she said she graduated but shea thought that was something that will not come up because also on her interview she wasnt asked if she graduated but on that application she was asked to confirm what date she graduated, i have a clean record i heard they also check your credit history which i only owe money to a public library. My question is does me lying about that could cost me the job???? the managers both of them seemed to like me so idk if me being clean and all could forgive the high school diploma lie

Ways to make money with no high school diploma?

Get your GED or go back to high school.

Look into the job corps. There is really no way to make money without having some sort of training. You'll probably make under 10 dollars for the rest of your life. I know some people who make 17 or 18 dollars as a cashier at a grocery store but they were hired in under old contracts and they now top out at 12 something an hour. Start applying everywhere and start studying at the library for your GED. Then look into getting into a tech school and getting loans. You're really in a tough situation without college.

Where can I get a high school diploma in houston?

There are several things you can do to avoid scams. The first is to avoid websites. Many of the "online schools" are scams, and unless you are an expert in accreditation and curriculum design, you have no way of recognizing a true diploma from a rip off. You will need to attend a "brick and mortar" school in person. Visit a community college and talk to the counselors there. They can suggest available high school diploma programs in your area. You might also find help at the central offices of the school district where you live. Some school districts offer "recovery" programs to help students who dropped out. You might also get information about diploma programs for adults at a public library. Finishing a real diploma and avoiding swindles and frauds won't be easy. You'll have to make some sacrifices. But it will be worth it in the long run.
