What Jobs Can I Get With A Ged

What kids of jobs can I get with a GED?

Many job applications will state that a diploma or equivalent is required for a job. Any job that asks for diploma or equivalent would be available to you. Many other jobs do not require even a diploma (look at the jobs that current HS students have). Many retail, manual labor, government service (Post office for example), restaurant service, and other jobs could be available for you, but these would tend to be lower wage jobs (at least to start). Most community or technical colleges will accept the GED as an entry point (although you may be asked to take a placement test and, depending on the results of that test, you may be required to take developmental courses). There are many other jobs that will be available to apply for once a degree as well as a GED are in your pocket.

What kind of jobs can i get with a GED?

Any kind of job that you can get with a high school degree. They're equal. If any job says it wants a high school degree, it will also accept a GED.

Particularly in this economy, though, this means that your offerings are somewhat limited and it's going to be hard to make a real living wage with only a GED. If you absolutely do not want to go to school anymore or get further training, I'd seriously look into joining one of the armed forces. You can join any of them except the Air Force with a GED. This is probably the best way to make an actual living.

If you're not interested in the military, I'd consider getting further training. Perhaps something like an electrician/plumbers apprenticeship, culinary school, or a program to be a medical biller. All of these professions make decent livings and don't require a college degree.

You aren't a failure until you decide you are. Any job that that requires a high school diploma you are qualified for.

You can take classes at a community college or enroll in trade school.

I make more money then most of my friends who have their college degree and I am still working on mine.

I know a lot of people who have higher education degrees who are morons. And I know some with only a high school diploma or even 1 that never graduated and they are extremely intelligent.

What 20$/hr job can you get with only a GED?

First of all, stop saying “only a GED”. A GED is equivalent to a High School Diploma. Don’t sell yourself short. Your can get any job that someone who graduated from high school can get.My son has a GED. He works in the IT field and makes much more the $20 an hour. He obtain a couple of IT certificates on his own time, which further enhanced his credentials. One of my best employees, making over $100K, had “only a high school diploma”. You can do the same with a GED if you wish. Also, consider joining the military for a few years. Great start in life and tremendous benefits both during and after your time of service.

What jobs can you get with a GED in the 21st century?

Plenty of jobs, but none of which are jobs which would require college degree. So, probably not the highest paid jobs.Except, perhaps, for commissioned sales. If you’re really good, and you choose the right products to sell, you can make lots of money there, while having only a GED certificate.Otherwise, a variety of office or clerical or supporting jobs. Or service work of some nature, or of course physical labor of some nature. You can work in stores, or dealerships, or service companies, or driving, or pretty much anything that doesn’t require a lot of education.Unfortunately, there are steadily fewer and fewer of such jobs. Banks used to be large employers of minimally educated people, as tellers and the like. No more. Entire branch offices are being emptied of people, and replaced by ATM machines. Similar steps are underway in lots of businesses. Amazon has automated warehouses, which are putting thousands of retailers out of business. Sears stores are being vacated all over the nation.Sad to say, but if you can attain no more than a GED, then in the 21st century and after you are increasingly likely to become a ward of the government, living on various kinds of handouts. Not a certainty, of course, but definitely higher and higher percentage of the minimally educated people. Sorry, but true.

Jobs for a 17 year old with GED?

Can I get my GED at 14?

Between now and when you actually take the GED I would go to the library and get all the learning tapes and books on the ACT, SAT and GED that they have. Study all the material that will be required of you and take all three as you know you are able to handle the information.

Keep reading as much as you can and educate yourself in all sorts of areas of history, politics, science and any other areas of interest you have. Keep learning something new everyday and learn to love the process of learning. Learning is a life-long task and doesn't end when a school grade or test is completed.

What job can i get with a GED diploma?

Anything involving your particular skills that does not take a degree. I'm thinking here of craftsmanship, sales, art, music, etc. Also, there are many areas of self-employment where nobody cares what your credentials are, only your ability to provide the product or service they need.

Anything that takes a degree is also open to you once you find a school that will accept you based on other things than an impressive high school record.

I got my GED in 1965, after having dropped out of high school in 10th grade. Later, I was admitted to the University of Michigan mostly on the basis of good SAT scores, and did well there. I learned word processing back when it was brand new, which helped in everything subsequent. I even got into law school, but the financial considerations made that blow up after a year. Then I learned that I could be an excellent legal secretary, and spent 16 years in the same firm, before being laid off. Now I'm learning a whole lot of new software and preparing to start yet another career, hopefully as an Administrative Secretary for a non-profit foundation.

A GED does not limit you nearly as much as you might imagine.
