What Jobs Involve Working With Dogs

Jobs working with dogs?

The vet technician job was what I was going to be. Usually its an associate of science degree...2 year. So just do well in your science/math courses. Vet assistant, I've heard from vets, that if you go to a program its a waste of money. Some vets will hire you on and train you to become a vet assistant, but you won't get a certificate as with the class you would.

Good luck on your endeavor to figure out what you want to be.

I'm almost 19 and in college and still trying to figure out what I want to do, nice to have a narrowed plan though.

Jobs that involve working with bats/owls?

Going to college for several years can land you a career in zoology, specializing in bats and owls.

Some nature centers and other wildlife places specialize in wildlife rehabilitation, which can lead to working with owls and bats. I know we found some starving bats in our attic during the wintertime and took them to a bat rehab place to fix them up.

You could try a zoo, but they usually don't have bats or owls. You may have to specialize in just one or the other as they are pretty different. Bats are nocturnal insectivores/herbivores which use echolocation to move about. Owls are carnivores that are active night and day using strong hearing and stealth to catch prey.

What are some jobs in the Marines that involve dogs and a woman is allowed to do it?

USMC Working Dog HandlerJob decription:What It Takes To Become A Marine Corps Working Dog HandlerI’m pretty sure women are allowed to do it..

What jobs involve caring for animals?

Vet, Vet Tech, Vet Nurse....
to be brutally honest, if you tell yourself blood is going to be a big problem and stop you doing a particular job then it will be. On the other hand, keep telling yourself its getting better and its bothering you less, and chances are you WILL get over it and it won't stop you doing the job you really want to do.

If it really is getting in the way though, have a look at some of these:
Kennel Maid
Dog Groomer
Dog handler/trainer/kennel staff with Police, Military or Customs
Farm Hand
Mounted Police/Armed Forces - rider, trainer, stable hand
Riding Instructor
Groom/stable hand at a Racing/Competition Yard, Riding School or trekking centre

What jobs can I get working with animals at 14/15 years old?

Pet stores usually only higher at 18, you can try working at a vets helping with cleaning, or at a grooming salon, helping sweeping, cleaning kennels and if your lucky and show to be mature they may teach you how to bath dogs, clip nails and you can make some nice tips.

I hired a 16 year old last summer part time at my salon to help answer phones, sweep, clean kennels etc. I eventually started to train her to do walk in services like brushing, and nail trims. She made some nice tips also.

What are jobs involving entymology?

I am a professional scout. I work in the greenhouse industry and my job is insect and disease identification and treatment.
I use biological control first and foremost and pesticides as a last resort in controlling the pest population in a greenhouse environment.
The woman who sell the biological control insects to me is an entomologist.
She owns her company and has been in business for 30 years, I have been a scout for 25 years.
There are jobs in chemical company's, and Universities. I find that Entomology is a fascinating field of study, and I do not mind my Nick Name one bit. Bugsie!

Does the Navy have a program or a job were you can work with animals?

Very small elements of the Navy work with animals-primarily, as mentioned, EOD (seals and dolphins) and MAs (dog handlers).

If you really want to go work with animals, join the Army. They still have a fair amount of veterinary technicians and related-fields in their world.

Note for anyone ever posting about the Navy-there are no MPs in the US Navy (except on your FITREP/EVAL). The job that Military Police (USA/USMC) and Security Forces (USAF) do is done by a field called Masters-at-Arms (MAs).

Are there any veternarian jobs/pet care jobs that doesn t involve euthanizing the animals?

Yes. But much as I'd imagine most vets don't 'like' putting a dog down, all too often when there is no cure, this is the one gift we can give our pets - to prevent lingering. I watch Noel Fitzpatrick (the bionic vet - UK) getting really upset when he has no treatment to offer, BUT at the same time, he has been able to help so the animal isn't in pain.

You could be a groomer, but most animal-related jobs might involve losing an animal - death is part of life.
