What Kimd Of Lip Piercing Is This

What do you think of a lip piercing?

I love piercings too and I want my lip done as well, but it depends on what kind of lip you have. Full lips look good with them, thin lips are alright, in-betweens not so much. In order to make it look preppy to match your clothes, instead of a ring you could wear a stud. That looks really adorable on girls, and then it doesn't matter what kind of lips you have.

Peace and best wishes =)

And to all of your on here, your insults are not warranted. Not everyone gets pierced for attention or to look "cool". Some people have a connection with piercings and tattoos and view them as art, which they are.

Is 13 too young for a lip piercing?

Like so many questions, the answer is: “It depends”. It depends on the maturity of the 13 year old. It depends on whether they will be able to take care of their piercing. It depends on whether this is a quickly passing fancy or not.Generally, piercings are mostly permanent. I got my ears pierced when I was 15, I’m 52 now and I still have a hole in my left earlobe. You might want to sit down with your teenager and ask why they want a lip piercing. Who knows? They might have surprised you and done their homework on what having a lip piercing entails and are willing to take care of it, knowing that some schools have rules against lip piercings and also having thought of what they will do if they get a job in which lip piercings are against company directives. On the other hand, if they feel like they want one to fit in with their friends or just think it is cool and haven’t really thought about the semi-permanence of the lip piercing, you could calmly explain and see what they think.Anyway, good communication can’t hurt and honestly, there are worse things for a 13 year old to want.

How much does a lip piercing hurt?

I hate to be that person, but I sure hope you’re talking about going to a professional with your parents signature and getting it done in a safe clean environment. If we’re talking about having a friend stab a kinda sharp object through your lip, stop right there. It’ll hurt more, take longer to heal, and get infected. Now that you’re done rolling your eyes at me, back to the answer. I had a Monroe piercing. It hurt but not as bad as I thought. It’s a little prick, then a sting, then some blood, and done. You have a lip piercing. You’ll first have to wear a swell bar before you can have any cool jewelry. A swell bar is an extra long labret bar. Your lip is going to swell up for a few weeks and normal sized jewelry can get lost and stuck inside a swollen lip. Don’t try eating anything right after your lip is pierced. Pro tip, be extra careful about biting down on your new piercing. It’ll take getting used to. And most importantly, keep it clean. Buy whatever cleaning fluid your piercer recommends and clean it often. Being in your mouth offers much more opportunity for infection. If I remember correctly, I think the pain and swelling totally stopped after a month and it scarred up around 6 months after that.I say my lip piercing hurt more than my nose piercing, my friend says the opposite. It’s really about your pain tolerance. I wouldn’t let the pain stop you. I’m so afraid of needles but I suffered through literally 60 seconds to have it done. Pain is temporary. Just please, I can’t stress enough, go to a tattoo shop and have a professional do it for you.

What can I eat while my lip piercing is healing?

A few hours after I had my lip pierced, I ate steak and chips, it just took a little bit longer to eat. So it just depends on what you can handle really. Though alcohol and spicy food isn't really recommended.

Labret bars are generally better than CBRs for healing and try not to play with the piercings too much.
Ibuprofen and ice will help swelling go down.

Aftercare -
Lip - Sea salt soaks. 1/4 teaspoon of non-iodized sea salt to a mug of boiling water. Wait for it to cool down enough (so it doesn't burn you) and then dip a cotton bud in the solution and wipe around the piercing to loosen the crusties, Once or twice a day.
Tongue - Alcohol free mouthwash. Once or twice a day.
Though for all my piercings, I generally just left them alone and soaked them whenever there was crusties around the bar.

What is the aftercare for lip piercing?

Having snake bites myself for four years now, I can give you some advice. If they are freshly done, don't irritate them in any way. Don't chew on the bars or play with it with your tongue. Gently touching them with it is okey.Very important: you shouldn't touch them with with your fingers unless you wash them first. You're fingers carry lots of bacteria!Something you're gonna notice is that during the healing process some white stuff will come out of the wound. This is completely normal, and you shouldn't panic. Only if it gets yellow, green or brown you should see you're piercer for advice.I cleaned mine with cotton swabs and saline solution. Normally you can get it at your piercing shop or your local pharmacy.Once they're healed and there's no swelling anymore, you should swap the longer piercing bar with a shorter one, so it won't get caught on your teeth or clothing anymore.I want to warn you for something. My piercing on the right healed in two weeks, but my left piercing is still not completely healed (hurts when changing the bar) although I cleaned and treated it the same. Normally it should be completely healed in about two months. If anything unusual happens, you're piercer will be glad to help you out!Good luck!

How do I take care of my snake bite lip piercing?

Snake bite piercing is alot like the Tongue. You need to use mouth wash for inside the lip (expecially if you smoke) and peroxide or salt water on the outside. I'm hoping your jewelry is long enough and you have room for swelling. This can lead to problems if you don't. You can sucks on a popsicle or Mr. Freeze for any swelling but stay away from dairy. The dairy can cause bacteria to grow if your not rinsing enough. I hope this helps, good luck.

Saline solution and lip piercing?

No, contact lens solution is not okay because of the added chemicals.

You just need to pick up all-natural, non-iodized sea salt at the grocery store.
You mix about a pinch of salt for every 8 ounces of hot water, and then you soak the facial part of your piercing with this solution for 10-15 minutes (you can rinse your mouth with this as well, but the mouthwash is fine).
Then you rinse well with cool, salt-free water.

EDIT:
Yeah, you'll be fine with just using it once. And I've never been called that before. haha Thanks. =)
