What Kind Of Dogs Would Apartments Usually Allow To Keep

Can I get away with keeping a dog in a 'no pets allowed' apartment?

I, personally, do not think hiding an animal is a good idea. What happens if you get caught? You could get kicked out or you'll have to get rid of her. It's just too risky. What if someone in the same apartment complex reports that you have pets?

I would recommend you talk to the landlord. Tell them that you have a small puppy that you'd like to bring with you. You're willing to pay a pet deposit to keep her, and she's pretty quiet. Tell them that you'll clean up after her, and make sure she doesn't mess up the apartment.

If you still can't, then you'll have to find her a new home since finding another place is not an option.

What kinds of pets do college dorms usually allow to keep?

most dorms only allow fish.

You would have to check with the college and find out what their policies are on pets. Some MAY allow a caged pet. I highly doubt you will be allowed to have a cat or dog. Very few dorms allow pets period, and cats and dogs are more likely to be destructive or cause problems with allergies.

You also need to consider your roommate as well.. for example if your roommate has allergies, even a caged pet may not be a good idea.

Should a bachelor (staying alone in an apartment) keep a dog? If yes, which breed should it be?

Hey!!Why don't you adopt an indie. Trust me untouched by inbreeding, the best genes have been passed in to them. They are extremely low maintenance, highly affectionate, very intelligent and come with a strong personality of their own. They give you the joy of a pet and you give him lifelong good shelter and love. Looks like a good deal to me!

Can I keep a dog in my flat (apartment) in India without any issues?

Its key to understand the breed that you decide to adopt. Apartment living is good for couch potato dogs like french bulldogs or other small dogs that can just run around and get their exercise in the apartment themselves especially if you dont have time to exercise your dog. Big dogs like german shepherds, labs etc require a lot of exercise. They love you so.much that big dogs will do their best to adjust. But if the breed that you choose your dog from is not studied and is not looked after as per requirement, the gog will become a depressed dog. Depressed dogs can be destructive. Also dont get a dog if you have to leave it alone for long spells. Its not fair to the dog especially a young dog. Older dogs tend to sleep more so can be left alone for a few hours. And please adopt from shelters not from breeders.

Can I keep my husky if I'm moving into an apartment?

My parents are moving to a smaller house in a different state and today they just mentioned to me that they will not be taking our family dog- which is a siberian husky. I cannot imagine her leaving us. My boyfriend and I will be moving into an apartment within the next 2 months (we just graduated college).

Please give me your advice if you think she could be ok living with us in an apartment. I love her so much I really do not think I could handle saying goodbye to her. Thank you.

How do you get a doctors note so your apartment will allow your pet?

In all honesty, I dont want to exploit the mental system. Im not mentally disturbed, but my son has ADHD and emotional problems, and anger issues and has been seeing CMH and is on medications. He cries when I talked to him about having to rehome our dog. I thought it was weird that someone told me I could get a doctors note for the dog. My dog is american bulldog and ppl are wanting to keep him, but I dont want my son crying for days like he did when his other dog ran away.

New apartment complex doesn't allow "viscous breeds." Help!?

well, here is are some tips on how to move your dogs to their new home:

and here is an article about finding a cat friendly apartment (has tips that might help with your dogs):
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/pic/article.cfm?dept_id=0&siteid=1&acatid=391&aid=671
after reading both these articles, I would suggest that you:
1-provide all medical records (vaccinations, spay/neuter documentation)
2-provide a letter from your current landlord regarding the dog's behavior
3-offer to pay extra each month
4-provide proof or documentation that the dogs are certified therapy dogs
5-provide a letter from the dog's most recent trainer/handler regarding their temperament
6-and most importantly: introduce your dogs to the apartment manager...make sure they are well groomed and on their best behavior for this event (maybe give them a bath so they smell good and walk them so they are tired before the introductions are made)
there are no guarantees that you'll be able to change your landlord's mind HOWEVER my father is a landlord and I've known plenty of people to change his mind regarding a dog or cat over the years (I've even known people who lived in apartment buildings which say "no pets at all" yet the landlord might allow a well mannered cat if they like a certain tenant)
good luck!
