What Kind Of Dress Should I Wear For Wedding Party

What kind of dress do you wear to a wedding?

We really need to know when and where the wedding is. (ie Time and Venue) Does the invite specify a dress code? (ie cocktail or black-tie?) There is a lot that determines how formal a wedding can get - but as a general rule you need to be more dressed up than a standard event.

If it is a daytime (morning/lunch) wedding and the invite specifies a casual affair (also a beach wedding, etc) then a nice sun dress like these would be appropriate...

If it is a cocktail wedding (which can be a formal day-time or less-formal night wedding) then something like these would be good... (most weddings are cocktail if no other information is supplied)

If it specifies black-tie or formal (most late, evening weddings) then these would be good...

What kind of dress to wear to a wedding?

Wear a maxi dress, rivers has found 2 that would do the afternoon wedding thing perfectly. One was silk, it was dark turquoise, and draped from the shoulders, there was no waist. Perfect with some minimal daytime jewelry.
The other was a muted purple and fuchsia on white, long dress, floral, nipped in a little at the waist.

Other wise, a simple straight sheath dress looks great on everyone.
And you would look good in a dress with a waist in it. Go with something with a little extra material at the bust, and flares out a bit at the hips to break up all that height.
I send everyone to Nordstroms, they are classy. And they are having a sale right now.
And the first one that caught my eye in the day dresses section was a Ted Baker London dress, it is printed silk with foxglove flowers on it. Background is grey. It is on sale.
Be careful, there are a few evening dresses mixed into the collection.

whatever you do though....dont wear a black dress

What kind of dress should i wear to a wedding that is in myrtle beach?

The city the wedding is in isn't important. The dress code is important. If the invitation stated formal or semi-formal attire, then that is what you wear. If the invitation didn't state anything, then a modest dress and heels will ALWAYS be apppropriate.

Go to a department store and look at the dresses. Something like this would work: http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/in...

I have noticed a regional difference in wedding attire. At Southern weddings, female guests will wear skirts or dresses and pants would not be considered appropriate. Northerners will sometimes wear pants. Since the wedding you are attending is in the South, you should really wear a dress.

Hi TashuI am not expert on it, but I think I can give you some suggestions. I have lived in north India for more than 20 years and I can understand how winter weddings could be. A groom and all men cover themselves in warm cloths like coat, jackets and groom in sherwani. But poor ladies just to show off wear saree, salwar kamees and lehenga choli without covering it with additional layers.I never understood how women could tolerate such cold temperatures just to be fashionable? As now I work in fashion industry I could possibly give some advice without compromising with fashion. But make sure you are comfortable at your own wedding otherwise in your wedding photos you might look shivering. lol.Get long sleeve choliTry to use velvet for your lehenga choli as it is warmer than silk and other fabricsKeep a nice shawl with you so that when you are cold you can wear it and take it off for photo shoot. These days very think layered skin color nylon body wears are available you can wear it underneath your lengha, and it could keep you few degrees warmer, how ever it will not protect you fully.Wear stockings that matches your skin tone, I have not seen many ladies using it in India during winter but it gives good protection. If you are not bride you might try a jacket to cover your self.Beside this try warmer food and drinks, like soup. You can hold a bowl of soup, mug of tea or coffee in your palms for long to keep yourself warm. Don’t be enticed with cold stuff. These are few practical suggestions from me as you asked for it. But I am sure a women answering to your question will have completely different perspective :)If you are looking for tailor made lehenga choli you can always visit our website gravity fashion that is customer oriented and works in best of your interest.Or drop me an email at hiren@gravity-fashion.com and I shall be glad to assist you.

Impossible to answer without knowing details like what you look like (the best choice depends greatly on your features and complexion), where (location, setting, indoors/outdoors, etc.) and when (season, time of day, etc.) the wedding is.  For these reasons, if you can't provide more information here, then you're probably better off asking people who know you personally.Edit:  Based your comment that it is a fall wedding taking place indoors (but not in a church) and that you have dark hair, tan skin and green eyes: I'd vote for the red one.  Assuming you want va-va-voom (hence your choosing this dress style), the red provides the most visual impact and contrast with your stated features.  If you feel you can't carry it off, then the turquoise is also a good choice; more elegant than va-va-voom, still a good contrast for dark complexion and complementary to green eyes. Definitely not the black because you're not at interchangeable cocktail event #19, where many others will probably default to black and why dress up to blend in?The oft-repeated notion of not outshining the bride is bollocks.  If one is dressing up to look one's best, why go halfway?  A wedding invitation is not an instruction to look less than your best and any insecurities harboured by the bride is not your business.  Besides, the only way you could be seen to be competing is if you also turned up in a bridal gown too!

What kind of dress should I wear to a daytime wedding?

I think you can wear anything you want as long as it's in good taste (not too revealing) and it isn't white and doesn't draw attention away from the bride. I think long dresses, unless it's a long dress that you would normally wear, are for evening weddings. I know a lot of young people do not wear stockings/panty hose, but in this case I think I would. If your dress is dark, you could wear dark stockings and dark shoes, but it is almost Easter/spring.

What type of dress should I wear to a wedding?

You shouldn't wear white to a wedding so as not to compete with the bride, also black tends to be a no no at weddings as well. Since it's spring, opt for a lovely pastel gown, something formal and flowing would do nicely.

When you are going shopping, tell the salesperson that you are looking for a dress to attend a wedding and they should point you to some good selections. A good rule of thumb is look for a formal dress in a good cut and color. Try not to get something too tight because you want to be able to enjoy the food at the reception and dance as well.

I hope this is helpful. Good luck and have fun!

You have bought great stuff and there are many interesting ways to put them together. These Bandhgalas are a great trend these days and I’ve found many celebs wearing them.As it is a wedding, you can buy a shirt which has some shine in it. I am not talking about glittery stuff, but something like the below image.Pair it with Denim trousers and you bring out a great outfit which is Grand yet not so grand :DIf Denim Pants are not you choice , you can also wear Trousers like these..Other option would be replacing the Shirt with Bright kurta like in the below image and teaming it with chudidhar pants. (Not sure about the name, but hope you get the idea from the image).Or you may also wear these kind of Trousers which look mostly like the Harem Pants in simple white or off-white.The same kurta look can also be paired with the famous Patiala pants or Dhoti style pants.Best Shoes for this kind of outfit would be Brogues or Oxfords. These give an Overall Sharp look to the outfit. They look Classy & Elegant and they go with all kinds of trousers mentioned above. If you want to buy something traditional for the wedding, you can also try Jodhpuri Juttis like these..or lil more dramatic like these ..but make sure , you buy comfortable footwear as being the Groom’s friend you will get to walk a lot and also dance :) So, buy something comfortable. If it’s too cold out there, I think wearing thermals inside would help. As you’re layering it up anyway, one more layer of thermal wear would keep you warm enough I suppose. You can also buy the Shirt or Kurta which is made of wool or something warm of that kind because I don’t think wearing anything on top of that Bandhgala would look nice. Finally you can add the Brooch just below/adjacent to the Pocket Square or just pick one of those. Complete your outfit and experiment with these two in the last and see which suits the outfit best.Hope this helps !! :)

What should i wear on an evening wedding party?

Hmm - complicated one.

If you know someone else who is going - ask what they are going to wear. Or even ask your friend who is getting married.

Traditionally, evening wedding would be formal - but Florida and Barbecue are definitely NOT.

Personally, I'm not to keen on LBD - but I'm old enough that my mother would KILL me for wearing black to a wedding. If you have something dressy and knee length that isn't black - I'd go for that.

And - as a matter of comfort - pantyhose tend to be a no-no in FL due to humidity.

Have fun & remember, it's more important that you are there for your friend than what you wear!
