What Kind Of Parts Applies For Jaguar X-type .

What is the difference between the S-type and X-type Jaguar cars?

If you want a more reliable Jaguar in general, then you should get a model no later than 1990 when Ford bought Jaguar and Land Rover.

The X-type is made to compete with the BMW 3-series, the Infinity G35, and the Mercedes C-class. You are better off getting a 3 series if you are looking at this model. The X-type is the entry level car for Jaguar...and $10k cheaper or so than the S-class

The S-type is Jaguar's oldest line and a very refined, middle to older class driver targeted car. Its competitors are the Audi A6, BMW 5 series, Mercedes E class, and Lexus GS sedans.

If you can afford more car, the S class is the way to go, but if you are leaning towards the X-type, I would recommend you look at competitors like the 3 series BMW. At the end of the day remember that you are buying a Ford vehicle along with ford maintenance and Jaguar costs : )

As far as what year to buy, I would recommend the car be at least 2 years old where it has lost most of its value, but won't depreciate too much more for the next couple of years. Don't get too much older than that especially with the X-type since it had a lot of issues when was first being rolled out.

JAGUAR Xtype 2003 rear of the ceiling hanging?

Doing this the right way will require removing the ceiling from the car. They make a great commercial fabric spray glue that will fix this problem. If it was not a Jaguar I would say try to order the commercial spray glue. The more it cost the better! Cover all seats, flooring, windows and anything the spray my get on. The best way to apply is spray lightly to the ceiling board and lightly to the liner. Wait 3 to 5 min then smooth the fabric toward the window. Using the palm of your hand to prevent wrinkles. This spray glue could be purchased at a car audio or fabric store. Don't go cheap with this kind of glue. They have alot on the market that just want hold up over time. Good Luck!

X Type non Jaguar tyres?

The question is valid. Any tyre fitted to this type of vehicle, just as the S type, needs to have a "J" in the designation, or it could invalidate warranty, and more importantly insurance. I have seen the results of a non-approved tyre fitted to a 2 year old S type. The occupants survived. The car ended up on it's roof due to a rear tyre blowout at 65 mph. (I was following the car in question in my Land Rover, and there was no speeding involved.) The tyre had at least 4mm of tread on it, but the sidewalls had given way. The other tyres were also Pirellis, but J designations were present on them. In conversation with the owner, whilst waiting for the Police, Ambulance and recovery trucks (isolated dual carriageway A-Road in the North East of England) it transpired that he had replaced the tyre at an independent tyre fitters after a puncture, and it was not a Jaguar specific tyre. He learnt a lesson that day.
Please don't fit the incorrect tyres to your car.

Are Jaguars reliable cars?

It is cheap for a reason don't be a sucker get it thoroughly checked out before thinking about purchasing Jaguar.Jaguar is getting better. Honestly, I live few miles away from its factory in England. JLR invested a lot to improve their reliability and quality is based on the J.D. Power and Associates Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) rating or, if unavailable, the J.D. Power Predicted Reliability rating.Jaguar suffers with reliability issues.1. They are expensive to buy and own.2. The running joke is that you need to buy 2 jags so you have something to drive while the other one is in the repair shop.3. They got this reputation many years ago when early cars had numerous and hard to diagnose electrical problems.4. They still only earn average to below average satisfaction ratings when it comes to mechanical reliability.5. They are very good cars when they are good, and very bad cars when they are bad.6. Unless you have deep pockets & a very good mechanic avoid these cars.7. One of the most beautiful cars ever is Jaguar E-Type w/ 12 CylinderSource : TechPro Car Tools

Which late 90s Jaguar is the least trouble - XJ, S-Type, or X-Type?

EVELYN the MAD DOG< is pretty informative, but a little bit CRANKY! When FORD took over the JAGUAR plant in COVENTRY ENGLAND< it was SO BAD and DIMLY LIT ttat NO ONE could see inside very well! Pre-90's JAGS used GOD AWFUL electronics from ENGLAND instead of realilbe ones from GERMANY! The FORD take-over did LOTS for JAGUAR and they improved EVERYTHING TOP TO BOTTOM for RUST< PAINTING quality, ELECTRICAL components, and even FUEL INJECTION! OLDER JAGS suffered from ALL SORTS of demons and GHOSTS! Once they dumped the BRITISH suppliers, that made LOUSY ALTERNATORS< INJECTORS< and all, THINGS GOT INFINITELY BETTER! NEWER jags are very much RELATED to other FORD products, BUT SO WHAT! Ford has done BETTER than any other USA based company and is NOW sending EUROPEAN FORD engineering and technology to the USA! I LIKE the later model Jags, and in the USA have worked on a few OLD ONES, like the XKE! A NIGHTMARE in many ways, but I loved the AVENGERS British TV show! ANY JAG made after 2000 can be a REAL JOY! They got nearly ALL the bugs plaguing SEAT MOTORS< window regulators, and other ANNOYANCES CURED! FORD did them a HUGE FAVOR by "HELPING THEM OUT!" THANK GOD it was NOT GM that took them over, like they RUINED SAAB! Even SUSPENSIONS were VASTLY improved, regardless of other peoples comments. They were able to MASS PRODUCE them with TIGHTEN precision and MORE detail over time! I have worked on SEVERAL of them SUPER CHARGED< and REG and find them to be FANTASTIC< but overpriced.. PART are just as pricey as ASTON MARTINS in many ways, which ALSO have FORD ties! They improved the TRANNIES as well as GM supplied many for OLDER cars along with GM AIR CONDITIONING systems! ZF now supplies MANY trannies to nearly ALL car makers, world wide, EVEN FORD and GM use them! ! FORD assistance did WONDERS for JAGUAR in SO MANY WAYS! The PLANT is now WELL LIT and easier to work in! And NOT GO BLIND!

Are Jaguars good cars?

They have improved substantially from historically being unreliable vehicles.

I'm providing a link to JDPower the authority in automotive research data. We see that in Vehicle Dependability Study, it rates higher than average in reliability. And for 2005, the brands were rated 2nd place, behind Lexus for initial quality.

They have improved.

Now on your X-type, what the vehicle really is, is a European Ford Mondeo (we knew the car in the U.S. as the Ford Contour which was killed), which Jaguar made AWD standard stateside. I do recommend the 3.0L V6 since the car can be a bit of a porker. The AWD system is automotive and non-obstrusive. It has a RWD biased system, but it's running at all types and splits the power where needed with a wet coupling I believe.

The Duratec 3.0L is the same found in other Ford products, and it's pretty reliable...Jaguar upgraded it with a few items to squeeze more power out of it.

Like any luxury vehicles, some items will be a bit expensive to replace, but being it's based on a common vehicle, majority of things to fix are cheaper for the most part. The more complex items like A/C and electronics, will be more of course.

Hope this helps ...:-)

What is unique about Jaguar cars?

I have owned many different brands of luxury automobiles through the years since the 60s. (I am old) Mercedes, BMW, Alfa Romeo and Jaguar. I also have owned many Volvos, but I don’t consider them luxury cars, too practical. I always admired Jaguars, the XKE especially was beautiful, but so were the sedans. I bought my first Jaguar new in 1982, an XJ-6. It was a fine car and for the price seemed more comfortable and luxurious than the Mercedes 220SE and 250SE I had owned in the past. It was also prettier. Since then I have owned a Mercedes C-Class (junk) and a Mercedes ML 320 CDI (an SUV) which I still own, a wonderful car and a few Beemers. I also own a Jaguar XJ8 which I bought, remembering how much my wife and I loved the old 1982 XJ6. The Jaguar XJ is just a very nice car that doesn’t cost too much relatively speaking. The interior is actually comparable to far more expensive English cars like Bentleys and RRs. Far more refined interior-wise to the German and Japanese competition. The Jags are also nice handling cars. Though long and relatively big they do the twisties just fine and they handle them in a “gentlemanly” manner. My BMW 540i and BMW 545i were better handling cars at the limit but not quite as “gentlemanly”. Nor did their interiors compare comfort-wise. And, outwardly the XJ is far prettier even than the E39 BMW 540 I had, which was the prettiest BMW sedan. ever made.Anyway, the Jaguar XJ, before the current version which looks like any other new car, is a budget priced RR/Bentley that handles a lot better and has more power in terms of power to weight ratio, and is nicer looking.
