What Kind Of Songs Would Suit Each Of The Contributors Here

What songs suit my voice?

I'm going to assume that you're a guy, because 1) You're name is Stuart, and 2) You're having trouble finding a good audition song. (If you're a girl, I'm very sorry for making the wrong assumption.) But to answer your question...

Have you heard of Sweeney Todd, that has a male lead, some of the songs a re pretty gruesome, but AWESOME audition songs. You might want to try "My Friends" or "Johanna." If those don't work, try maybe "It Takes Two" from Hairspray.

Here are some links for songs:

What are some songs that can easily be sung by someone with an average voice that sounds good?

I don't think that there is such a thing as 'average voice',each person is gifted with a unique voice which suits certain types/genres of songs more than others.Of course this may evolve with time and training, and the person may gain the ability to sing a broader range of genres/types of songs.Just because you are unable to belt out high notes,it does not make you a bad singer, even if it is a very simple song,if you are able to present it clearly, with passion, that's all that matters. Here are a few simple songs which I think if presented the right way,can mesmerize any human being.1 .You belong with me- Pride and Prudence2.Sorry-Madonna3.Everything at once -Lenka4.Chelsea Hotel-Lana Del Rey/Leonard Cohen5.Lovesong-AdeleI've listed songs from different genres, try  listening to/singing each of these, and pick the type that suits your voice the most. You can then try and listen to more songs from that genre and pick a song that suits you the most. Some of these songs may seem a bit challenging at first, but trust me all you have to do is believe in yourself. Also you don't have to copy the style of the singer, you can modify these songs to suit your voice .Hope I helped :)Have a Nice Day.

Country Love Song Lyrics?

You should've been there,
Should've burst through the door,
With that 'baby I'm right here' smile,
And it would've felt like,
A million little shining stars had just aligned,
And I would've been so happy.

Christmas lights glisten,
I've got my eye on the door,
Just waiting for you to walk in,
But the time is ticking,
People ask me how I've been
As I comb back through my memory,
How you said you'd be here,
You said you'd be here.

And it was like slow motion,
Standing there in my party dress,
In red lipstick,
With no one to impress,
And they're all laughing,
As I'm looking around the room,
But there's one thing missing,
And that was the moment I knew.

And the hours pass by,
Now I just wanna be alone,
But your close friends always seem to know
When there's something really wrong,
So they follow me down the hall,
And there in the bathroom,
I try not to fall apart,
And the sinking feeling starts,
As I say hopelessly,
"He said he'd be here."

And it was like slow motion,
Standing there in my party dress,
In red lipstick,
With no one to impress,
And they're all laughing,
And asking me about you,
But there was one thing missing,
And that was the moment I knew.

What do you say
When tears are streaming down your face
In front of everyone you know?
And what do you do when the one
Who means the most to you
Is the one who didn't show?

You should've been here.
And I would've been so happy.

And it was like slow motion,
Standing there in my party dress,
In red lipstick,
With no one to impress,
And they're all standing around me singing
"Happy birthday to you",
But there was one thing missing,
And that was the moment I knew.

Ooh, I knew.
Ooh,

You called me later,
And said, "I'm sorry, I didn't make it,"
And I said, "I'm sorry too,"
And that was the moment I knew.

Songs that suit the book Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children?

Hi! I'm doing an assignment for school and I need to find some songs that would match what the main character is going through in the book Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. By songs I mean perhaps background music kind of music. (It's supposed to be like, if it were a movie, we could use this music in the background)
I'm not very sure on the type of music but I've come to the conclusion that some songs that may fit this book's tone would be creepy, mysterious songs. Maybe songs that evoke the feeling of curiosity and partially fear.

Here's a summary of the book that I found online if it helps: A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs.
It all waits to be discovered in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction and photography in a thrilling reading experience. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.

So, does anybody have some suggestions of songs I could use?
Thanks!

What is the greatest song without lyrics?

There's a variety of stuff out there, so it depends on what kind of music YOU like. Allow me to make a few points below and decide for yourself. ( Suggestions have links at bottom)New to instrumental music? Lyrics usually your thing? It might be worth noting that some of your pop favourites started out as instrumental bangers. Examples include Alexis Jordan's 'Happiness' starting out life as Deadmau5's 'Brazil (2nd Edit)' and Azealia Banks - 212 starting off as Lazy Jay's 'Float My Boat'. Try listening to listen to both versions and decide did it really need the vocals?Always seen yourself as more of a film buff than a Muso? Much of the music mentioned herehas a cinematic quality, but Movie soundtracks are often a great source of instrumental music. Ennio Morricone is considered one of the greatest soundtrack composers and if you check out The Good the Bad and the Ugly soundtrack you will understand why.If you are looking to massage some alpha brain waves (or a pretentious answer) then try anything classical. I don't listen to a much myself but try Wagner- Ride of the Valkyries; or Johann Strauss - Blue Danube for an idea. This kind of music can also often be found in movie soundtracks although they were not originally composed for that purpose. Are you deep and moody? Do you wear mostly black and/or have a beard? Then try anything post-rock. Early Mogwai is great, 'Hunted by a Freak' or ‘New Paths To Helicon Pt. 1' for starters. Other similar bands include Mono, Goodbye Enemy Airship the Landlord is Dead and Earth. If you like bleeps, whistles and the sound of computers you may want to try some electronic soundscapes. If you want something ambient and inoffensive try Brian Eno. If you like 'four to the floor' music listen to Dusty Kid's 'America' or Deadmau5 - Strobe. Or for something a a little off centre then try Burial - Stolen Dog or Benga and Coki - Night.I would be amazed (and flattered)if you find the greatest song ever amongst my suggestions because music is entirely subjective. But I hope you find something you like.Feel free to message me or follow me here or on Twitter for more music chat @DavidGibb19

What does the song 'Thunder' by Imagine Dragons mean?

He rebels (he fit the mold to be a rockstar/singer) and sings. He's not a sheep and follower. He always dreamed he'd become a big star but his classmates didn't believe in him. But he was more illuminated than he classmates who criticized him ever thought he was and he really did make it as a big star. Then he was the one on stage with "the last laugh" while they were in the front seat of his concert (instead of him being in the back seat of the class).P.S. And maybe some Illuminati kisses (the good-intentioned Illuminati, not the fake bad-intentioned one)http://songmeanings.com/songs/vi...

What Is This Song?

SAD or ROCK? Okay.. I'm no longer definite on that. If by way of unhappy you imply.... sluggish and form of emo... Evanescence has plenty of those, as good as rock, reminiscent of: Hello Like You My Immortal Your Star Missing All That I'm Living For Sweet Sacrifice Weight of the World Going Under The Veronicas: All I Have Heavily Broken In Another Life Someone Wake Me Up My Chemical Romance has plenty of well rock songs, and so does Switchfoot.

What are some level 5 NYSSMA songs?

I am a NYSSMA vocal judge, for many years. There is a reason that the NYSSMA Manual is not published on the Net, or available to anyone except teacher/members of NYSSMA. The selection you make MUST be done with your teacher, who knows you best, your voice, your sight-reading skills, your academic ability and other loads upon your time. You must confer with your TEACHER about what is best for you. On the practical end - I am surely not going to type in here, huge lists of songs and song collections! In all the years I have been a contributor here, I am the only person who has *identified* themselves as a NYSSMA judge - there may be others lurking, but I doubt it. So- start early ( as you have - good for you!) and sit down with your teacher to determine a short list - 3-5 songs - that would suit you. You have ample time to work - NYSSMA does not even start in some Zones until March. Make sure you are dead certain of the sight-reading rubrics, and can sight-read (solfege, please?) the level of example that will be given you. Good luck - and nect year, I hope you do a Level 6 - All-State!

Why do people follow the 'this song does not suit my voice' mentality when it comes to singing?

It's not just about being able to hit the notes. People have different registers within their voice range. For a lot of girls, very low in their range is their chest voice and very high in their range is their head voice. In between is often a sort of "mix" between the two. Developing a really strong mix and expanding it further through the upper and lower areas of the vocal range is often what makes pop singers really good. Often the different registers of a person's voice are really different, and even if the key is changed a singer will need to "switch" registers while singing a song; sometimes the range of the song is just too wide, or maybe there is one part of the song that has a really awkward interval. You also have to consider that people's voices resonate better on certain vowels. For me, the "ooh" vowel is really good in my upper middle range (which is the case for a lot of girls). Sometimes, there are just a lot of the wrong vowels in the wrong areas of the vocal range. This problem might require drastic key changing to be fixed, which might cause a whole other set of problems.Even consonants have an effect. Some, like "p", place the sound energy very forward, while others, like "l", often place the sound further back in the throat. If a singer already has a tone that is "darker" or not as forward, he or she may have a lot of trouble beginning phrases with "l" or other such consonants. And sometimes the "mood" of the song just doesn't really fit a singer's vocal quality. If a song is very pure or simple, someone with a raspier tone or a lot of vibrato might not feel right singing it. In addition, some people are better at riffing, while others are better at holding out beautiful long notes. So yes, there are a lot of factors! Hope this helped!
