Forever 21 clothing/magnetic alarm issue?
In the summer I got these awesome pink shorts for about $15-16.00. When I got home I realized that the cashier had forgotten to take off the magnetic sensor that makes an alarm go off if one were trying to steal it. I was going to try to take it off myself but there was a warning of injury on the back of it, so I left it. I was all ready to return them, but I LOST the receipt. D: So they'd probably think I stole them if i were to go back and try to get the magnet removed. Has anything like this ever happened to you and what did you do? Is there a way to take the magnetic thing off? I'd really like to wear these shorts -__-
How do I know if my Android has a magnetic sensor?
It depends on the phone you have. On several Android phones, including Samsung phones, you can enter *#0*# in the phone dialer and it will call up a hardware test menu. From there, select Sensor and you will see the magnetic sensor output as well as other sensor data. Press the back button several times to get out.
How do the magnetic covers of Kindle work which have Auto On/Off features, provided Kindles do not have proximity sensors?
They have a Hall effect sensor. Basically a magnet sensor. It’ll be located in the device somewhere under a corresponding magnet in the cover so when the cover is closed, the magnet will be near the sensor.You can confirm that there is a magnet in the cover, but putting something steel like a paperclip and seeing that it’ll attach to the spot where the magnet is embedded in the cover. And you can confirm there is a hall sensor in the device by putting a small magnet on the corresponding spot on the device - the device will auto on/off as if a cover was in place. Sometimes you might find other modes that are intended for different cover types.

Those damn Sensor tags on clothes????
That's what happened to me!! Use a lighter and burn off the sensor; be very careful and don't burn your clothes. I did it; and got to pull the sensor tag off.
If the price tag is removed off clothing will the alarm sound?
No, but a lot of clothing now has those little ink things on them and if you try to pull those off they will ink all over the clothes. But don't steal any clothes!
Will my alarm go off if i cut a wire from the alarm on the window?
Most likely yes the alarm will go off. The window being closed keeps the contacts closed which is being transmitted to the alarm box by those two wires. If you cut one of them the alarm system will think the window is open.
If I had scissors in my purse would it go off?
because i sometimes keep mini scissors in my purse when going somewhere and sometimes the mall..and if i went to the mall and walked through a store, would the sensors or detectors go off? i dont know how they work exactly if it is detected by metal or their own plastic ink tag things..
