What Level In English And Maths Is Expected At The End Of Year Eight

How can I graduate early from high school?

Perhaps the most important issue to consider is - what do you want to do after you graduate. If you want to work, you may be too young for numerous jobs. If you want to go to college, consider in which colleges you’re interested, which major and what high school course work would help you for these majors.I graduated high school early, at the end of my junior year, because my situation at home was difficult. My parents were fighting, blamed it on me, and threatened to kick me out of the house. I offered to finish high school a year early, and leave in a few months. However, I really did not take course work that would have helped me in college (I attended Reed college, a tough school). In high school, I had time for only geometry, trig, and algebra 2, but not pre-calc, which I would have taken my senior year. If I’d had pre-calc (or better yet, HS calc - not offered then), it would have been very useful for my college courses. Also, I’d taken biology and chemistry, but not physics. Again, taking HS physics would have made my college course load easier.I did well in high school - in my junior year, I had the top scores, in my school of about 2,000 students, in both the math and English SAT tests, as well as a 5 on my English AP exam. (The only AP course offered at the time in my high school in California in 1969).If you can take courses at a nearby college, you may make friends there with whom you are more compatible. This could help you decide on a college major, and better prepare you for college studies.Good luck!

What grade levels do you learn Algebra 1 & 2?

A fairly common situation in the US is the “standard level math student” takes Algebra 1, in grade 9 (freshman year), Geometry, in 10th grade (sophomore year), and Algebra 2, in grade 11 (junior year). Some US schools use “integrated math” where geometry is not a separate course, but is instead integrated across 3 years of math, in this way Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2, become integrated math 1, Integrated math 2, and Integrated math 3.The drawback to both of these schedules is that it means you only make it to Pre-Calculus by grade 12, (senior year). However many school districts will allow the “advanced math students” to take Algebra 1 in Junior high/Middle School, often as early as 7th grade. In this way high school students in grades 11 and 12 (juniors and seniors) can take Calculus in high school.Although there has been a trend in many US school districts similar to what you describe. Where rather than skipping the entire coursework known as 7th and 8th grade math, advanced students do both 7th and 8th grade math in 7th grade and move into Algebra 1 in 8th grade, this allows students to get to Calculus in their 12 grade (senior year) without any doubling up on math classes.

Is NCERT enough to score 90+ in 12th boards Maths and Physics?

Honestly, I just gave my 12th board exams this year and too am a PCM student. With my personal experience and going by last 2 years of stats, CBSE has being throwing googly at students unexpectedly and it leaves them in a bad state after their boards. Area of particular concern has been Maths undoubtedly and Phy has been no less but it just gets a little less media coverage owing to the hype because of Maths Disaster. My advice to you would be relying purely on NCERT is never gonna be enough. This way someone who can literaly memorise stuff will also get 90% + which doesnt happen in most cases. Not that mugging up isnt needed, it is but to a certain extent only. There is no denying that you need be to super strong with your NCERT questions especially INTEXT and also the Exercise ones but for Maths there is no hiding away from RD Sharma likewise, SL Arora in Physics is a must! Make sure to takeout time to solve atleast past 10 year's questions paper in the end to get an idea about the pattern and expected pattern of questions. However, be prepared for the unexpected and the worst paper set yet again. Being already prepared for the worst will eventually leave you in a better position than many others.Hope that helps!Cheers.

What do you think about the 2012 Mayan Calender?

Please read and respond:

The forecasting of 2012 is more a feat of mathematical genius than it is a doomsday forecast. This is because many people were astonished to think that the Mayans had so much knowledge, that they had the ability to predict dates when the ages in their calendar would end. Many people underestimated the Mayans and thought of them of just indigenous people from Mexico, but they were not just that. They had the intelligence to build all their cities, temples, pyramids, and sacred caves with geometric calculations and without any tools. They were able to create their own calendar with every different age with their mathematical and astronomical calculations. When the calendar was translated was when the prediction of the end of the world came to play and the discovery of the Mayans unknown knowledge. The Mayans were able to calculate the date that the occurrence of the winter solstice with the completion of the precession aligns with the center of the Milky Way, which is December 21,2012, but it never states that it would be the end of world. Many experts have investigated that the Mayan calendar and have discovered that there is in fact seven ages not five. What many people still fear is a doomsday because many do not know that it is not last age in the Mayan calendar, but is actually the rebirth of the sun and the transition into a new age, the beginning of a new world.

The probability that a student will pass math is 3/5, and the probability that he'll pass English is 1/3. If the probability that he'll pass both math and English is 1/8, what is the probability that he'll pass at least one subject?

Hi, I believe the answer is 3/5 + 1/3 - 2(1/8) = 41/60. The reason is, that the chance of passing at least one subject is the sum of the probability of passing just English and just Maths. I’ve added a diagram here to explain a bit better. I.e. it’s the Union of A and B minus the Intersection. Remember that the Union of A and B is not A + B because the Intersection is not counted twice.CheersAndrew

Can you tell me a little bit 'bout educational system in America? What I need to do to become a good student?

Not all US high schools are as bad as that other poster made them out to be. I should know, I went to one. The problem most of the bad schools have isthat they are filled with stupid poor people. Avoid inner city schools.

In general what you want to do to be a good student is just make the teachers think you are trying hard. If you do that they will grade you easier and give you the benfit of the doubt in most circumstances.
Yes, you shoucl participate in extracurricular activities. They look good on applications and they keep you busy so you dont fall in with a crowd of drug addict losers.

My pregnant dogs temperature has been 98 all day, when will she begin whelping?

My dog was bred from the dates of September 18th to October 9th. She is huge at this point and as previously stated her temp has remained right around 98 all day today. What should I expect next and how soon should the pups arrive?

Francis Lewis University Scholars Program?

Man!!! you got accepted to THE UNIVERISTY SCHOLARS PROGRAM too, WHOA!!!!!!!!!!

You are about to make a decision that will impact the next four years of your whole life!!!!!!!!!!! Yo bro, make a wise decision, or else you will regret it like that person who is failing chemistry due to a stupid teacher at Cardozo and a whack "fluffed" name. trust me, dont go to Da Vinci "math and science institute" those words sound cool, but its a joke.

I go to Francis Lewis's University Scholars program and it's intense and will prepare me for college work at an Ivy League School. The University Scholars Program forces us to challenge ourselves with all honor courses and to take all APs as much a possbile. In addition, all the professors are top notch and teach really good. Only the brightest are in the University Scholars Program. Seriously, congratulations for even being accepted to the University Scholars Program. Wow, you got into the program.. Cooool. Yep, you are one of the top students who are smart enough to decide that the University Scholars program is way better than Da Vinci. Da Vinci is only science honors, thats it.!! University Scholars is ALLLLL HONORSSSS. The unviersity Scholars program has the top students, and exellent teachers. There is tutoring available that is one-on-one. The rigorous course will and i mean will prepare you for the regents and SATIIs. There is no competition and no one worries about other people because everyone are the top students in the University Scholars program.. All of my teachers made learning chemistry extremely easy. I ended up getting a 97 on the Chemistry and 94 on the Physics reagents. It was not really my studying that helped me. the teachers prepared us rigorously for the biology, chemistry and physics exam. I couldn't have done it without them I even got a perfect 5 score on the AP Chemistry exam with a 760 on the Chemistry SAT II. the program offers AP Physics. The course is rigorous and colleges will snatch me for even bother taking it. Get real, if you were Harvard, who would you pick, a student who Took lots of AP and scored high on SAT and Regents, or would you pick a person who was in Da vinci and took only science honors course and did poorly in them and didnt do good in the regents and low SAT score.

Man!!!
CONGRATULATIONS For getting into THE UNIVERISTY SCHOLARS PROGRAM. HOLYS***. See u at Harvard.
