It appears to be a plain cotton knit. If you are interested in different fabric types, Fabric - Apparel - Home Decor - Quilting - Fabric.com has a glossary of different fabric term with links to examples. It is probably the most complete one I have seen.It can be very confusing because sometimes a fabric is referred to by its content, ex. Silk, and sometimes by its weave, ex. Satin. The glossary is a big help, and so is just going to fabric stores and touching!

What material is the softest for tshirts?

Cotton jersey is traditional T shirt material.A good t shirt should be soft after it’s first washing.Avoid t shirts with more than 15% poly. A little poly is helpful for a stretchy Tee but more makes it feel like plastic.I also avoid inexpensive off brands tees.In my many years of wearing T shirts I found the ones sold by Duluth Trading Co. Men's & Women's Workwear & Clothing to be the best for a reasonable price…both men’s and women’s small to Xxl sizes. They have an excellent cut and longer than normal length to avoid butt crack exposure.

What is the best t-shirt material for absorbing sweat?

The best t-shirt material for absorbing sweat:Traditionally, natural fabrics like cotton, linen and even wool have been better for excessive sweaters than synthetic fabrics because they breathe better. Linen is the lightest of the three fabrics and will probably make you feel "cooler," and light wool, like merino, helps transfer heat away from the body to provide a cooling effect. Light, 100-percent cotton is a good choice as well because it's breathable, which means the fabric absorbs moisture, in this case perspiration, in short order. Since the body cools when air hits moist skin, cotton is a good if you need to get your body temperature down in a hurry. But where cotton and other natural fabrics fall short is that they all retain the excessive moisture that doesn't evaporate from the skin. In other words, if you're sweating, everyone can tell.Modern fabric technology has come a long way to help people keep cool, and it's become a huge part of the athletic apparel industry. You've probably heard of fabrics that "wick away moisture," but you may not know what that means. Just like a candle draws wax up the wick to the flame, wicking fabric pulls moisture from the body to the exterior of the shirt where it can evaporate more easily. Many wicking fabrics are made from polyester blends, and we already know that synthetic materials don't retain moisture like natural fabrics do. Polyester holds on to only about 0.4 percent of moisture; cotton just 7 percent. Unlike regular polyester, though, wicking fabrics are woven in such a way that the moisture is forced into and through the gaps in the weave so it can find the outer shell of the material. The weave itself makes the material highly permeable. Many of these materials are also chemically treated so that moisture won't soak into it. For purists, there are also non-treated versions of these fabrics.Thailand is known to produce many polyester blend wicking fabrics as they have the new technology to produce the weave during fabric production. Factories such as Sugini factory in Thailand manufacture for a high majority of sporting brands with this new technology fabric. www.sugini.com

What is the best material for making hand painted t-shirts?

Hi, I usually use & recommend acrylic paint for painting T- shirts. They dry fast yet merge well & also give a glossy finish & shine. However, you shall find ' fabric' paints in market which most people will recommend as the name suggests. They are more or less similar to acrylic in terms of appearance, consistency & usage. But when it comes to final outcome, I always prefer acrylic paints. A small tip if you are painting T shirt first time: After the paint dries, turn the T- shirt inside out & press a hot iron on the painted area which will fix your colour stronger. Also ensure your T shirt material is relatively thicker & even. As for brands, I prefer Camlin & Faber Castle.  I hope the Information helpsRicha Nagare
