What Method Does The Orlando Ballet Teach

Help teaching ballet to 5-8 year olds?

5-8 year olds have a much better attention span than age 4 and under. They can understand you better and some may even be serious about doing well.

You should cover all the basic steps, vocabulary, technique, and corrections. Be a little animated at times and always show them your happy and positive side. Choose music they will like for the barre warmups, and also incorporate a classical song here and there to get them introduced to classical music.

Be strict but sweet. This way the kids will like and respect you, as well as the parents (which you will also have to deal with on a regular basis). You don't need to water down anything, just have a great attitude and never show them if you are tired or had a bad day. Dance, especially Ballet, can really teach kids discipline. Be firm about your rules and dance etiquette. This is an important learning time for them, they will carry this stuff with them for as long as they dance.

I've found that reading some parenting and school-teacher books have helped me develop better dance teacher techniques. I teach ages 4 to adult.

I will be auditioning for the Colorado Ballet's SI this January and I was looking for a few answers. I am 17 years old.
1. What was the audition like?
2. What kind of scholarships were awarded?
3. Was Pas De Deux offered?
4. What was the training like?
5. Any tips?

Why is China not good at football (soccer)? Why is China still not competing at the same level as Japan or the Koreas, and not represented at the World Cup?

China did go to World Cup in 2002 but quickly became the worst performing team in history (0 points, GF 0, GA 9).Anyway, there are several reasons why nothing happened much on that front:Culture: football is relatively popular during childhood but is competing against more traditional sports (pingpong, gymnastics, athletics) and other sports which are easier to play in the country, in particular basketballRisk: simply put very few parents will see a football career as an opportunity. China is very competitive and most people want their kids to have a regular job. The chances of becoming professional are already low and on top it doesn't pay much locally considering the length of a career. Chances to be an international superstar are non-existent in their minds (and after all, it depends on the team!)Infrastructure: at every level there is a serious lack of fields to play (not even mentioning grass fields access is impossible, meaning you don't learn how to tackle etc...) and commuting in the cities is painful. Same thing at instruction level where coaches/clubs don't have much professional experienceCorruption: the championship has been stopped for several months a few years back amidst corruption crisis. It never really recovered from that blow and still suspicious occasionallyStars: there is no "Yao Ming of the football" yet ; China had some second-zone foreign retired players for a while in the championship but nothing that will inspire kids to play more and train harderTeamplay: clearly not a strength for various cultural reasonsPatience: in this world where everything is instant and China has a building coming up every second, someone must sit down and think deep about ways to detect and nurture talents. Without governmental input this won't be easyTo conclude, it seems most of the Chinese nationals who had essays at Manchester United or elsewhere didn't make the cut (although I suspect this was an attempt to get more eyeballs and revenue from China fans). Some foreign teams are trying to bound ties at football school level (12-17 yo). This will require parents to leave their kids in the hands of foreigners brining them back home for training. Not going to be easy unless money talks.

I know it sounds silly, but is there any way American Music companies would create girl or boy groups almost like K-Pop? Is there any way someone could request them to?

Simon Cowell has done that a lot of times. The only difference is that they all sing in English and have more freedom than Kpop groups.Simon Cowell basically finds people through auditions and casting, and teaches some skills and make them compete against each other, like survival shows in South Korea. Some examples are Fifth Harmony, Little Mix, and One Direction. (By the way One Direction and Little Mix are British groups)Now these groups may not be in a lot of variety shows and all that stuff, because unlike Kpop groups, they don’t need to promote themselves since Simon Cowell’s label, Syco Entertainment, is a well known label and their auditions and casting are aired on TV worldwide, which is very popular. These groups also don’t last as long as Kpop groups because they are less controlled by their entertainment companies. For example, if Fifth Harmony were under SM Entertainment, Camilla Cabello would probably have filed a lawsuit to SM to end their contracts. Also Fifth Harmony would definitely be forced on a diet and would have a way busier schedule than being under Syco. They will be trained way more excessively too. The only advantage they would have is that the group would last longer together and especially their fame.If there was ever an American version of a Kpop group, being exact, there will probably be a lot of outrage from the public, since Americans are very protective of their freedoms, while Koreans are submissive to their authorities (correct me if I’m wrong). There will also be a lot more obsessive fans since they will have some much video content of them to the point of them having no private life. Now if you are talking about actual groups that dance and sing in Korean, then there will be a lot of cultural issues. There may be some advantages to American version of a Kpop groups, but the disadvantages will outweigh them. American culture and Korean culture are very different, so there are different standards with American celebrities and Korean celebrities. But that doesn’t mean Americans can’t take some notes on Kpop culture. A great idea American groups could adopt is a group with both singers and rappers or things like dance line, rap line, visual line, and etc. Therefore, an exact replica of Kpop group in American industry wouldn’t fit well, but maybe they can take note of great ideas, like Koreans have done before.

What is the major difference between a tailor, seamstress, dressmaker and fashion designer?

“What is the major difference between a tailor, seamstress, dressmaker and fashion designer?”A Tailor is someone who usually alters a garment. They will take measurements, hem pants, make sure the shoulders of a jacket fit correctly, they will take in or let out seams of a garment. They "tailor" the clothing to fit.At one time, this was considered a gentleman's profession in the fashion world, as normally they would work with men's suits. Often when you go to a better menswear store, they will still have a tailor on site , or a retail specialist who does the work and will still measure you.Seamstresses usually do the sewing and putting together of a design, sewing costumes, dresses, etc. It is an old fashioned term, they are more closely related to a tailor, as they do alterations, it is the female version. Think of Paris, and the famous design houses, or someone who sews for a ballet company, theater, or band.A Dressmaker is also an old fashioned term, they are indeed designers. They specialize in custom clothing for women. Think Coco Chanel, Dior, Emanuel, Balmain. Ball gowns, suits, elegance. They were the pre-cursor to the fashion designers of today. They laid the foundation. There were some designers that refused to be called anything but dressmakers.A Fashion Designer, is someone who takes a concept, creates a vision, all the way from fabric choice, color, sewing, buttons, pattern, execution, movement, to reality. Often, they have a team of people working with them, however, that is not always the case, if they are lucky enough to have a design studio, yes, but sometimes they will do their own sewing on an initial design, such as a custom piece for a client. They are involved with every process of bringing their creation to life, even models and marketing for their brand.Hope this answers your question.
