What Motivations Did Young Belgian Men Have To Volunteer For Their Army In The First World War

Help in history!?!?! (World War II and I) Few questions i need answering please...!?

WW1 happened because of the expanding imperialist countries. Major countries like France, Austria-Hungary, and England. They all wanted more land and resources to become even more powerful.

The Nazi party is the National Socialist Party. They believed in a strong government and promised to turn Germany back into a world power.

Communists believe in a form of government called communism. Communism has the idea of equality for all and ownership for all. While this idea sounds great on paper, it will never work because of people's greed.

The French and British created the Treaty of Versailles. It was a harsh treaty that forced the Germans to pay reparations to Great Britain and France.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

What was the motivation of German soldiers to kill and be mean to Jews during the Holocaust?

From about 1918 till 1934 the citizens of Germany, Austria were starving, and unemployed. The Jewish communities in Europe did not suffer as much from these calamities as they were somewhat fiscally secure and close knit in community. This bred dislike and distrust among the common german people's whom also saw them as war profiteers. Along comes Herr Hitler with a whole lot of charisma and some honest to god genius economic plans. These folks now have food and jobs and meaningful lives. These people were never told these things were free and now it's time to pay the tab. These folks that you already distrusted are deemed the reason for your past woes have to go and you gave your word that you would do as your told if we protected you. The rest comes down to herd mentality and the human need to be an accepted part of a group. You only tell small parts of the plan to the many so only a few know what is actually happening and its scale, thus you get complicity from ignorance and of course you have the people that hope if they ignore it it may somehow repair itself.Of course the lazy boy super heroes will claim they would of taken the high road and fought the system, but they are liars full of self righteous false bravado and arrogance.

Can i please have atleast 5 reasons why men joined the army in WW1?

In Britain, conscription doesn't start until 1916, so up until then men are joining as volunteers, not because they're required to by law. There are several other reasons.

First, for the adventure. At the start of WW1, very few people realised that it would become a stalemate in the trenches with constant industrialised slaughter. They thought it was going to be a re-run of Britain's colonial wars of the previous 20-30 years - like against the Mahdi in the Sudan, the Zulus, or the Boers. Young men joined up expecting it to be an adventure.

Second, patriotism and/or indignation with the Germans. There was quite a lot of propaganda emphasising the 'beastly Hun' invading Belgium which was supposed to be neutral, carrying out atrocities, and making war on civilians. Men joined up feeling it was their duty to fight for King and Country, or wanting to do something to stop the German aggression. This reason can also refer to German attacks against Britain by Zeppelin airships and bombers from 1915 onwards.

Third, peer pressure. If a lot of your friends, family or workmates are joining up, it's difficult to be the odd one out. You might feel that you should go along because your brother or best friend are going to sign up. Later in the war, after conscription, there is more and more pressure on men to fight, and those who 'conscientiously object' were frowned upon by many people.

The fourth reason, for some, was simply the need for work. If you're unemployed then the army is one way out, especially if men are needed for an impending war. For some men, even those with jobs, the army would pay better than their present employment, so they chose to go. If you were trying to support a family then that might affect your decision.

The last reason I can think of is as a means to get away from your problems. Do you have debts, family problems, an unhappy marriage, or other difficulties? If so, the idea of being in the army, many miles from home and doing something important might be quite an attractive idea.
