What Movies Does Jennifer Beaks Act In

What is the worst movie made by an Academy Award winning actor or actress?

Robin Williams would be a prime candidate for this. Best Supporting Actor for one of my favorite movies, Good Will Hunting.Nominated for these movies. And then he acts in these kinda stuff, for which he was nominated for the RazziesSpeaking of Goodwill Hunting, reminds me of Ben Affleck, he got an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for that along with his best pal Matt Damon. While Damon went from strength to strength, doing some excellent stuff, Affleck wasted the whole of the 90s and early 2000s on utterly forgettable fare like Armageddon, Gigli, Pearl Harbor, Dardevil. Just when it seemed his career was destined to go into a free fall, he redeemed himself behind the camera, with this excellent thriller, and his brother starring in the lead role.Kevin Costner, had one of the best debuts as a director, when his sprawling, epic Western Dances with Wolves, turned out to be a major hit, and won the Best Picture too.Matter of fact Dances With Wolves, came during a dream phase in Costner’s career, with roles in The Untouchables, Bull Durham, JFK, A Perfect World putting him right on the top. And then he began to make stuff like these post 1994.Yes Costner remains one of the few to get a Best Director Oscar ( Dances With Wolves) and the Worst Director Razzie( The Postman). Talk about extreme swings. And one of my favorites Michael Caine, came up with some memorable stuff during the 60s and 70s like Zulu, Ipcress File, The Man Who Would Be King, Alfie, The Italian Job, Get Carter. And then he had an equally impressive line up of utterly bad movies. Nominated thrice for Best Actor( Alfie, Educating Rita, Sleuth) , won twice as Best Supporting Actor( Hannah and her Sisters, The Cider House Rules). And also being nominated for Razzies for stuff like this.Adrian Brody won the Best Actor for playing the real life Polish pianist Władysław Szpilman, caught up in the Nazi holocaust in Warsaw. And later tried to be a wannabe Arnold Schwarznegger in Predators, a terrible follow up to the original cult classic, and Adrian trying to do an Arnie was even worse.

What are some movies where dance is the central theme?

In the 1930s tap dance was made popular by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Their best films as a duo are The Gay Divorcee, Top Hat (1935), Swing Time and Shall We Dance. Those moves, the choreography, their smile and the swinging songs by Cole Porter, Irving Berlin and George Gershwin are still good for some screen magic. In 1948 Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger directed The Red Shoes (1948). Scottish actress and dancer Moira Shearer played the ballerina. Her impresario pushes her to extremes and forbids her to have a love life. The ballet within the film is based on a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen about a girl who can't stop dancing with those red shoes on her feet. After Fred Astaire came Gene Kelly. He combined step dancing with techniques from classical ballet. He rose to fame with films like Anchors Aweigh and An American in Paris. His biggest classic remains Singin' in the Rain (1952). This film about the transition from silent movies to talkies was a tribute to the history of the MGM musical.West Side Story (1961) contains spectacular group dancing scenes. Tony (Richard Beymer) belongs to the Jets; Maria (Natalie Wood) to the Sharks - a gang of Puerto Rican immigrants. This tragic love story was loosely based on Romeo and Juliet. Leonard Bernstein wrote the music and Stephen Sondheim the lyrics to songs like Maria, America and Somewhere. The emergence of disco in the seventies meant the start of a new string of popular dance films. Saturday Night Fever (1977) was inspired by a fabricated article in the New York Magazine about the subculture of the working class. John Travolta played an Italian American who wants to be a disco dancer. The Bee Gees recorded disco anthems like Stayin' Alive and How Deep Is Your Love. One year later John Travolta teamed up with Olivia Newton-John in Grease. Irene Cara starred in Fame and sings What a Feeling during the audition of Alex (Jennifer Beals) in Flashdance (1983). This film contains a breakdance (or B-boying) scene as well. Other popular dance movies in the 1980s were Footloose, Dirty Dancing and Hairspray. Of the many dance movies after 1990 I'll only mention Black Swan (2010). Natalie Portman gave a wonderful acting performance in this drama about a ballet dancer in Tchaikovksy's Swan Lake. It shows that behind the glamour on the scene there can be a hidden world of stress, rivalry, eating disorders and mental suffering.
