What Music Artists Or Bands Do You Listen To

What kind of music do you listen to?

Hm. I usually can group my taste into a bunch of different artists, not really due to their genres or any strict criteria, just my automatic mental filter. I have very little grasp of what it actually takes to categorize an artist or song into a genre, so I just go with the overall vibes of them. My music taste I think is kind of diverse, and more often than not I can enjoy any song you try to play for me.Group A: the likes of James Arthur, Ben Rector, Jason Mraz, Christina Perri, Sam Smith, Calum ScottGroup B: the likes of P!ATD, Fall Out Boy, Bastille, The Chainsmokers, Train, OneRepublic, Imagine DragonsGroup C: the likes of Alessia Cara, Pentatonix, Owl City, NF, Shawn Mendes, Andy Grammer, Bea Miller, Echosmith, 5 Seconds of Summer, Tori Kelly, P!nkGroup D: so special they’re in a category to themselves: BTSGroup E: the likes of NEEDTOBREATHE, Danny Gokey, Austin French, Francesca BatestelliBTS are the only artists I’ve ever been an actual fangirl for, though.I think, if I had to describe them in a simple word, respectively it would be melodic, aggressive, average, everything, and Christian. So my music is a lot of more modern pop, whether it be mellow, loud, dark, light, slow, upbeat, or slamming. I’ll listen to basically anything, I’ve learned to not be that picky.Love Yourself, Love Myself, Peace!-Meredith

Do music artists listen to songs made by other artists?

Musicians are human beings just like everyone else. They all listen to music for pleasure and every musician has a favorite genre, artist/band etc. People would be surprised by how many artists love to listen to genres of music that are totally different then their own.Artists are also always looking for inspiration and creativity for their own songwriting. Listening to other artists songs and albums is probably one of the best ways to channel this inner creativity. Artists, especially ones with production labels, are also always listening to “unknown” or underground music trying to find talented artists to possibly sign or invest in.It is said that when Paul McCartney and John Lennon were first shown the album Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys, they listened through it once, paused and immediately told the person to play it over again. The Beatles felt that Pet Sounds was a musical masterpiece and shortly afterwards started to work on Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. According to Beatles producer George Martin, "Without Pet Sounds, Sgt. Pepper never would have happened....Pepper was an attempt to equal Pet Sounds."

What music do you listen to?

Hardcore punk (and other forms of punk)
Metal (and other subgenres of metal (i.e., death metal, heavy metal, etc)
Shock Rock

Metalcore and deathcore.

I also enjoy indie and acoustic. Especially when I'm working on my artwork. And some alternative rock and some classic rock. Just depends on my mood and what I have or haven't listened to in awhile and get on musicial kicks where I listen to just classic rock or something for weeks at a time and then switch to something else...

I also write music, so the genres that I write in: Post hardcore, punk, deathcore, metalcore, and indie/acoustic.

I tend to listen to the heavier genres most of the time, but also mix it up with some indie/acoustic as well. Just depends.

What I don't like is rap/hip hop and current pop music.

I like some classic pop music like Prince and Michael Jackson, but not what's labeled as "pop" today like Ke$ha or Lady Gaga or any of that autotuned garbage. And I don't like Crunkcore.

How about these lads? Local band from right here in Austin. I first heard them when they were one of the bands that were set-up along a 10 mile race I ran here in town last year. I went home after the race and looked em up on YouTube, and liked them so much I now catch their act here whenever possible.I predict great things for these guys!Animals For Hands - Don't Know What You Do To Me

Why cant MALES listen to FEMALE musicians/artists?

People don't care when girls listen to male bands/artists but when they hear of a guy listening to a female artist they automatically think he's gay or something. It interests me that people think like this so my question is why can't males listen to female artists?

When I say female artists I'm not talking about bands like Arch Enemy, I'm saying more along the lines of Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, etc.

Who’s your go-to band or artist when you can’t decide on what to listen to?

Alice Smith or Cee Lo Green
