Does my cat enjoy my voice?

My its may sound like a stupid question haha but i was wondering if its possible that my cat actually enjoys hearing my voice? I Dj and am a song writer, so naturally i got into making music. I've come to realize when i ever a belt a tune my youngest kitten comes running over giving me insane amounts of love, and the moment i stop she kinda hesitates. Can Cats Enjoy MUSIC . . ?

When I sing to my cats, they seem to like it as they start to purr, but I think it is just because it is me paying them attention. Does anyone out there think ---- or know [-somehow] that cats actually DO enjoy music? I leave beautiful music playing on tv and look to see if my Delilah is somehow motivated but I am never sure. I think dogs seem to like music, but is it "MEW-sic" to my cats!?

How does a cat respond to music?

My Midnight had very particular tastes…she loved classical music, but most especially piano and stringed instruments. She also loved a German Shepherd howling to opera. Her favorite music, however, was the Star Wars soundtrack…anything from any movie. She died listening to Across the Stars. I define love, in this instance, by her settling down, or rubbing on the speakers. In the case of the German Shepherd, she tried to rub on the tv. She also came running for Patrick Stewart's voice anytime she heard it, so there's that, too…Hank? He HATES classical, blues, rock, soundtracks…but he likes rock and metal. Who would have guessed? He also hates ambient rain, and will start tearing at things, hissing and growling, if he hears it.I was transporting 7 cats in carriers for a shelter once, for a 2.5 hour drive. One cat was in heat, one was feral and was rocking his carrier and trying to get out, and a third remembered me as a volunteer who cuddled him and wanted to be held NOW. I turned on David Teie's “Music For Cats”, which is designed specifically to appeal to the feline persuasion. All seven of my passengers settled down. At one point, I looked back, and saw six of the seven were asleep. The seventh was looking at me, completely blissed out. Once I parked and the music was off, the spell was broken, and it the Kitty Chorus started again

Do Cats respond to music? Do they get annoyed with loud music?

Oh yes they can respond. Some cats are more sensitive to certain noises like the bass and may be annoyed by it. My cat JJ loved rap music. He learned to use the stereo (initially on accident) and would turn up the volume when rap would come on, he even learned to hit the scan button. It would drive me nuts since I hate rap.
My pitbull Jacan only likes live music and will stare at the drums like he's entranced for hours.

Does music and sound stimulate cats?

i don't know about music, but my brother's cats watch tv with him. they actually watch and react to everything happening. we were watching the discovery channel, and there was a blizzard on the screen, and the cat leaned back like it was scared the snow would hit it, lol. and then there was a volcano on the screen with smoke coming out of it, and as the smoke went up, he followed it with his eyes, and looked up to the ceiling to see where it went. lmao.

Do cats like music?

EMAILBY JUSTIN SCUILETTI  March 5, 2015 at 4:08 PM ESTCats don’t care for human music, but researchers have found a new genre that felines enjoy. Photo by Flickr user Adria vidalEver wondered why your cats don’t share your appreciation of Johann Sebastian Bach or aren’t as enthusiastic to rock out to an old Led Zeppelin record? Turns out, it’s not their style.Cats, in fact, do enjoy music, but they don’t enjoy human music — at least according to new research. A study recently published in the journal Applied Animal Behavior Science believes that in order for our feline friends to enjoy music, it has to be species-specific music. The trick for getting pets to listen is composing music that fits into how the animal communicates, writes University of Wisconsin psychologists and study authors Megan Savage and Charles Snowdon. “We have developed a theoretical framework that hypothesizes that in order for music to be effective with other species, it must be in the frequency range and with similar tempos to those used in natural communication by each species.”To test their hypothesis, the researchers turned to musician David Teie to compose songs that would fit into those parameters, which resulted in the tracks, “Cozmo’s Air,” “Spook’s Ditty,” and “Rusty’s Ballad.” Testing 47 different ’s “Elegie.”EMAILBY JUSTIN SCUILETTI  March 5, 2015 at 4:08 PM EST

What kind of music do rats listen to?

Anything with a gentle melodic beat pleases them. Every animal I've seen to dig music always seemed to enjoy acoustic folk music :))

What sorts of music do cats respond to?

Original question: What sorts of music do cats respond to?Friend Sana Lee has posted: “David Teie has composed music for cats, incorporating those frequencies with which cats are familiar; purring, suckling, and those high-pitched vocalisations associated with kittens. Teie has integrated these sounds with sounds that we humans also find appealing, presumably because it needs to be tolerable for us to hear, too!” That sounds pretty sensible, and I’m sure cats would be captivated by cat sounds. Unfortunately it doesn’t come in on the radio in our vehicle. We always have played classical music for Sasha and Velvet when travelling. It seemed to calm them down. Now we play it for Velvet and Peach. I really think it works and has a soothing effect. When we go away for the day we often leave the classical station turned on. I’ve often thought of contacting the classical radio station with a request something like, “I wondered if you could please play the Blue Danube Friday night between 7 and 8 P.M. Friday. I’ll be driving to the cottage then and listening to your great station. Thank you. Velvet Dyer.” Ah, if they only realized that Velvet Dyer was a cat! After making these comments I decided to see what Dr. Google prescribed as “best music” for cats. Here are some links:and Scientists Have Created The Perfect Music For Cats (also refers to the David Teie work), andOne thing we have observed: cats don’t appear to like rock’n’roll and they marginally tolerate talk radio.I write many Quora articles about cats. Feel free to click on my profile to see them and hopefully read some. If there are any you like, please upvote them. Thank you for taking the time to read this.P.S. While I know our cats like classical music I’m not quite sure the full 1812 Overture complete with cannons would go over. B. D.
