What Options Should I Pick For Nursing

Nursing or Accounting?

I have taken both classes in college and I like nursing better. The Bachelor's program for Nursing is hard to get into but that's the one I am applying for this fall. It requires a great GPA and an interview. Accounting does not require any of that. Accounting is not about MATH. I went into it thinking I'm great at math I will like this....not. It is boring because it is just basic math and a lot of dull terms. You might like business but I sure don't. Nursing is not an easy job and you can be grossed out sometimes but at least I'm not beating my head against the wall in utter boredom. Nursing is harder in school because you have to read 20 chapters a week and the nursing question requires critical thinking so they are really tough. Expect to make C's. You also must do clinicals as well. You will not have a life for two years, but if your heart desires to be one it's the way to go.

Air Force & Nursing?

I read this because it was a rack my daughter considered.
Do not get sucked into the idea that you can enlist as a medic and then be moved up to nursing - best you can hope for is LPN, after lpots of ears of experience.

If you truly want this, go the four year route, it provides you more opportinities down the road. It is not going to be easy, but the good things in life aren't.

When you complete your application for Nursing school, your background will more than offset you education to this point.

Having completed two degrees while working and helping raise kids, I know you will face MANY challenges, regardless of how supportive your family is.

You could also consider enrolling in an ROTC program with Nursing - LOTS of colleges have this option. Contact the local recruiting station, and tell them you wish to talk to a Nurse recruiter who can give you the best information about this option. (This will also helkp with the cost aspect...your age may or may not become a factor...) Or better yet, go the campus where you are thinking about going to school and talk to the PMS (Professor of Military Science) there for the best details.

Nice thing about Air Force - their deployments tend to be shorter in length compared to the Army.

What are some options for a biology student other than medicine after class 12 in India?

Not all students who choose Medical stream as a career option after 12th pcb stream wish to become doctors or dentists. In Indian society, it is an auto assumed scenario. If a child opts for 12th science stream (PCB), society starts to believe and see them as future doctors. Due to this false impression, in most of the cases, students are forced to appear for medical entrance exams even if they don’t wish to. Sometimes, it is misleading as students themselves also start believing that they must become a doctor, or dentist. Lack of professional guidance results into disasters as when students realize that they are just running behind the crowd, they have already lost good amount of time. Here, I am shifting the focus from MBBS and BDS to “OTHER CAREER OPTIONS in LIFE SCIENCES” and listing out some of the possible career options for 12th Science Stream students who like to study life sciences but do not wish to become doctors.Students with Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at 10+2 can opt for career in Life Sciences. As a Navy Nurse where can they get stationed at?

Boat = submarines and there are no Nurses or Doctors on submarines.

They are stationed wherever they are needed whether it be a ship or a base (also includes Marine bases) or a hospital/clinic. This includes locations overseas like Japan, Guam, Spain, Italy, etc was a time when you could have been deployed to Afghanistan to serve there for a period of time but that does not happen as much now. It will be what you make it both bad and good, just like any other job out there.

You need to have a Bachelors in Nursing to become a Nurse and it is a 4 year Commission.
