What Other Advice Could You Give For A 27 Year Old That Has An Interview At Burger King

What advice can you give your juniors who have just joined college?

Rather than 'advice', here are 10 guiding questions, and some common myths to avoid:Everybody knows "What I study is not what's important in real life". But do you know what is? Find it out. Be curious.Until then, do justice to whatever you take up. Studies, partying or otherwise. Commitment. Am I confusing 'being cool' with 'being lazy'? Lazy folks find excuses to avoid all work. Cool people do work that makes an impact on others. At 21, playing the guitar might make a bigger  impact than scoring good marks. So be it! But then, work your ass off on learning the guitar. Maximize impact.Do not fall for the 'KTs are common in engineering' myth if you are in an Indian engineering college. Read Are KTs inevitable in Engineering? Learn from failure, don't justify itIt is not about "How much better my professors, college, system, university could be!" It is about "What are you doing to make the best out of them?" Care more about your life, not their's.Do not worry about 'What am I doing? Will it help my career?'. Just think 'Am I doing something productive?' This might vary from (genuinely) learning a favourite subject, or the guitar, organizing a festival, traveling to new places - take your pick. Have enriching fun.If you want to gauge your potential for "success" in the real world, don't ask "How many people like me?". Ask 'How many people reach out to me for help?" Learn to be useful. Picking up skills is easy. Building trust is not.Do not be ashamed of failing, as long as you were busy trying to succeed in something else(that mattered more to you) Fail proudly.Do stuff you have not done before. This is not about having a good experience. It is about overcoming the mind's habit to fear new experience. Friends usually do not judge you. Learn a new art, speak on stage, ask that person on a date. Practice stepping out of the comfort zone. Realize that everybody is as lost as you are. Majority is not always right. Do not take the easy way because "That's the way it works!" Think for yourself. If you still lose your way and end up doing nothing of the above, do not ask "Oh my God, how can I get back the years I wasted?". Just ask "Will I stop wasting my years now?"For career success related skills, read Vijayraj Kamat (विजयराज कामत)'s answer to What is lacking in Indian graduates in terms of skills, and what solution do you suggest?

What are some high paying jobs (over 200K per year at 30 years old)?

As others have said - The money figure you mentioned is something that is highly rare by age 30 and many very smart people will never top the $100,000/yr mark in their careers.

In the field that I work in - Computers - there is probably 1 out of 200 people making that kind of money by age 30. Probably some of the high level IT managers at age 50 are not making those dollars.

At some point in college, probably by your junior year, you are going to need to decide what you like doing, what you are gifted at and what you can make money at. Getting these elements together can be tough because many of us like to do things that we could not earn a living at. We lack the talent or the connections or we want to enter a field where there is too much competition already. I remember thinking how smart I was in an advanced computer class in my junior year. I got a 96% on a difficult test and was pretty proud until all my classmates sitting around me were showing me their papers and they all had grades as good as or better than my 96. When you get to a certain level you will find a lot of people with 4.0 averages so congrats on yours - it is great but you will need to see if you can pull that in college, also and Yes - Employers look at those grades in college when you are applying for work.

So I wish you well in your hopes of hitting those numbers but the competition is pretty tough out there right now. In many cases in Technology areas you have 50-100 people appliying for one job posting and only 10 -15 of those people getting an interview.

Best wishes!

Do all McDonald's charge for extra sauce cups?

I've worked at McDonalds for about two years now (way longer than I planned to be) and we just recently got a new General Manager. We have always been told we are supposed to make people pay for extra sauce packs but no one ever really bothered with it, but now our new GM is enforcing this rule. 25cents per pack. And they have threatened us with Write Ups and taking the cost out of our checks if we get caught giving any away without charging. I got screamed at one day for giving a little old lady a pack of honey mustard. It's foolish, and the customers get so pissed off and yell and curse and treat me like **** as though I make the rules. When you first go to orientation to be able to work there everyone is made to watch a video called "Give Them The Pickle", which basically tells you to give the customer whatever they need, and make sure they leave happy and satisfied(Have you ever noticed they don't charge for extra pickles?). So my question is, do all McDonalds / fast food places do this? And how should I handle the pissed off customers? I really don't like being told I have to charge a 8 year old kid for some damn ranch..

Where are some places that hire people who are under 18 years old with a high school diploma, preferably places that pay more than $12 per hour?

It really depends on where you are located here in Washington wage is $11 so making $12 is not that much difference! That being said just having a h.s. diploma does not garuntee anything above minimum wage.I would recomend fast food, a lot of gas stations, some retail like Safeway and such. Also if your a salesman/woman you could try telemarketing you can make bank at those places if your good. Have thick skin should be a pre-rec for telemarketing lol !If your super worried about how much you make an hour I recommend going to college. If thats not an option a sales job with commission they are out there even for people under 18 or a tip based job if your good you can make bank also at 17 with parent permission or emancipation the military is an option it pays pretty ok.And last but not least I personally have not been able to get this to work but I know people that have the Internet there are people on the internet right now making bank!! Look up pew d pie and markeplier also professional league of legends/ video game tester.Oh I soppose this would be last but not least start your own business! Dig poop clean up, lawn mowing , dog walking, washing cars tutoring elementary grades stuff like that the options are out there! Also remember it's not just about how much $ you make an hour but also how many hours are offered if a company pays forty $ an hour but only gives you one hour a week your going to make way less than a minimum wage job would pay for 80hrs/wk

Can I order Pizza hut through delivery if I'm underage or do I have to be 18?

I'm 14 and I order pizza with my mates all the time. As long as you have money it's fine.
