What Over Ear Headphones Should I Get

On ear vs over the ear headphones?

If you get in the ear ones, like these,

They're great because they block out outside noises (making them louder) the quality is also great. They are fairly cheap too.

Which headphones should I buy?

My wife and I both own Audio Technica ATH-ANC7B and we love them. I travel frequently and find the noise inside an airliner unbearable sometimes. They are Active Noise Cancelling and Audio Technica claims a 90% reduction in ambient noise. I’m not sure of that figure, but it is a huge difference. I would say at least 50%. As far as great sound, well they sound pretty good to me, but I’m not an expert and I have hearing issues anyway. Sometimes I just use them for the noise reduction and I’m not even listening to anything. I even use them when I am mowing my lawn. One thing I know for sure: They are definitely NOT BEATS. If you are willing to spend up to, but not over $300.00 there may be something better out there, but at the <$100.00 price point, I think these are a winner.

Best in ear headphones in $100 range?

So I've been using my friends klipsh s4i and they sound phenomenal and they are super comfortable but they feel a bit cheap. I've never tried the ibeats but they look cool and I heard that they were metal unlike the plastic klipsh. So if anyone can recommend a good pair of in ear headphones in the $100 range i would highly appreciate it. Should I just go with the s4i or get a different pair?

What pair of headphones should I get?

Well the sennheiser HD 449 has very good bass but for the genres you mention mainly dubstep it might not please you if you are a basshead , the HD 429 is a better choice , it has a phat bass ( big ooomph sound ). i would recommend the HD 280 pro but some review state the comfort is lacking for long use
and the more improved version of it is just a dollar under your budget

budget wise the sennheiser 202-II seems it will satisfy you ,take a look at this review

the ath-m50 are very good also for about $150 but remember its a studio monitor headphone so if you have a song thats poorly recorded it will reveal it .
all the best

Would you prefer on-ear or over-ear headphones?

They say the best headphones are the ones to ‘insulate your ears from the outside sound’, so that you don’t have to go to higher levels of volumes that can damage your ears. However you may find yourself a pair that suits you the most and is comfortable. I feel that on ear headphones are literally resting on your ear and ears feel heavy and about to be broken after very long usage. Over ear headphones are good in particular, they can insulate from outside noise and give you a good experience. Good luck finding a good headphone.

Which pair of over ear V-Moda headphones should I buy? Why?

I have personally used both V-Moda M100 and Crossfade 2 Wireless. On the basis of quality and audio fidelity, the M100 serve as the standard to follow. The Crossfade 2 Wireless presents the convenience of Bluetooth listening, without sacrificing much of audio quality, even if you're listening to FLAC audio. Once you plug in the audio cable to Crossfade 2 Wireless, the audio quality reminded me of the enjoyment I had with the classic M100.Depending on your preferred use case, both the M100 and Crossfade 2 Wireless are worth the purchase.

Wearing headphones with long hair?

this might be a stupid question, but im a guy with almost shoulder length hair. im getting over-ear headphones, and want to know how i should wear them. i want them over my head, but would it look right with the speakers over my hair and not directly on my ears? would it look right if i wore them over a beanie? my ears dont show with my hair, and it would look bad to pull my hair back. any tips?
