What Percentage Of Politics Is Reality Based In Contrast To Opinion Based

What does "perception is reality" mean?

What people perceive is usually what they believe, and this is based on what they hear, see and think. Most of the time we cannot control what happens but we can always control our reactions.A person can rent a Lamborghini and a tuxedo and show up to a club and buy a $500 bottle just to have people think they are millionaires. This person is creating his own perception by creating a false illusion. It does not matter that this person isn't a millionaire because you perceive him as one. This man is creating the reality that he is doing big things but in all honestly he may not be doing jack sh*t.You can go to a new town and give off a completely different perception of yourself while still remaining the same person on the inside. People do this all the time when trying to forge a new beginning.Source : elite daily

President Bush once said" I have opinions of my own, strong opinions, but I don't always agree with them."

Instead of trying to poke fun, reflect on what he means. He actually is saying he has opinions on certain things but knows that in reality they won't work. For example, I might say in my opinion people should be totally responsible for themselves, no matter what government should not help them. I don't agree with that in the reality of the world, just in the opinion of myself. Understand? Bush has an MBA, what do you have besides acne?

What percentage of science is based on determinism?

No experimental science relies on determinism, since there is always noise and uncertainty in measurements, even if the underlying process is thought to be deterministic. Phenomena that are thought to be classical (deterministic), such as biological processes, may actually have much higher uncertainties than truly random phenomena, such as radioactive decay, which can be calculated to multiple decimal places in many cases.

What would be the consequences of abolishing (or scaling down) caste-based reservations from India?

In my opinion the majority will agree as it has always been but its not about the majority the politicians care , they would add fuel to the fire and India would burn.Who wouldn't want reservation in a country with the population of above 1.2 billion , i think its the only country in the world where people would fight to be called backward (it is even in the election manifesto of some local parties). Eventually everyone would try to get a reserved status and the politicians who gurantee that would be elected and thus the general category would be the most backward.Below some statistics about Andhra Pradeshs state governments jobs is given , now just ask yourself wouldn't you fight for reservation if you were in this particular state .If you are really brave you would try fighting against the reservation but then those who are already enjoying the reserved status would not be so happy about it and the country would burn   Andhra Pradesh is the state having the highest percentage of reservations in India in any form. Minimum 83.3% reservations are applicable in the state in education and Government jobs. The reservation schedule in Andhra Pradesh is as follows-Schedule Castes (A, B, C, D) – 15%Schedule Tribes – 6%Backward Classes (A, B, C, D) – 25%Physically Handicapped (Blind, Deaf & Dumb and OPH) – 3%(1+1+1)Ex-Service Men 9APMS only) – 1%Women – 33.33%Total % of reservations – 83.33%

If traumatic and horrific things happened to people who hold these opinions, wouldn’t you find it super funny?

Opinions:
"If it's popular, it MUST be good!"
"Whoever hates my favorite entertainers is just jealous of them."
"Different people are wastes of spaces who don't deserve the rights I have."
"My opinions are the only ones that matter."
"Nothing is ever my fault."
"I never make mistakes."
"Everybody should like what I like. If they don't, there is something wrong with them!"
"People exist to serve me and do nothing else."
"I hope Donald Trump caters to the one percent and leave everybody else out to dry!"
"Whoever disagrees with me is an idiot."
"Since my opinions are always the popular ones, they are the only ones that matter."
"Anyone that hates on popular things and people is an idiot."
"If I'm offending somebody, it's THEIR problem and not mine."
"I'm inconsiderate, rude, selfish, and condescending because I CAN BE."
"Hypocrisy is only acceptable when I'm being a hypocrite."
"Narcissists and bullies deserve to have great social lives. They are fun and exciting to be around! They are the best people to have as friends! Whoever hates them has the worst taste in people!"

What is your opinion on solipsism and subjective idealism?

Do you think that solipsism is valid as a theory? Do you think our mind is all that exists out there? That we form the reality the way we perceive it?

What do you think?

Why can't people respect others' opinions and views?

Some people do respect others’ opinions and views but the majority of people do not because they feel like there can only be one ‘correct’ opinion and that the so-called correct opinion is undoubtedly theirs because they must be right. For example, if Ken agrees with opinion X but opinion Y and Z exist as well, Ken may think that since only one opinion can be correct, it has to be the one that he believes in.Most people tend to think in a relatively narrow and single-minded fashion which prevents them from thinking of other perspectives on their own. When you think of something, you are most likely very clear on why your perspective is justified because you came to your conclusion and opinion based on a set of reasons which is logical and makes perfect sense to you. This is why your opinion is ‘correct’ and ‘right’, to you at least. And this happens for every single person. They know why their opinion is logical and expect everyone else to come to the same conclusion as them because they neglect the fact that not everyone thinks in the same way as them and will make the same links and connections as them to arrive at the same conclusion as a similar event So since a person is not able to think in the same way as a person with a differing opinion, the differing opinion will seem to lack logic and reasoning while their own opinion has both of them and is correct. Thus, a lack of understanding of the differing opinion could lead to someone’s lack of respect for a differing opinion or viewpoint.Another reason that some people may be unable to respect differing viewpoints is that a bias against a particular viewpoint has been ingrained in them. For example, if as a child, Joe has been told that opinion or viewpoint A is wrong, this bias against opinion A could become deeply ingrained enough in Joe that when he grows up, he won’t even question why opinion A is ‘wrong’. This would lead him to be unable to understand opinion A and thus, be unable to respect it.In conclusion, people may not respect others’ opinions because they believe that only one opinion can be the ‘correct’ opinion, they lack understanding of the differing opinion or they have biases against certain opinions.Hope this helps!

Why can't some people distinguish between facts and opinions?

A fact is merely an opinion born out by a higher level of evidence in a given context. What confuses me is that so many people think a fact is sacred somehow or an almighty truth independent of context. All facts are relative to the context. We can both say that the sky is blue and consider it a fact and that the sky is not blue, but is actually colorless, we only perceive the sky as blue. Both are facts, both are completely true in a specific context. We used to consider the speed of light as an absolute constant as another example of how a fact is completely dependent on context. We have more recently discovered that light travels at different speeds depending on certain factors (context). Thus the fact light goes a X miles per hour is a fact, BUT, it is a relative like all other facts.A compass points North, well right now it does. Tomorrow it might point south if the poles reverse. A compass points North until you get within a certain proximity of the North pole, so again this fact is relative to the context.Facts are absolutes and like all absolutes they are an approximation that is true often enough under the contexts that we normally encounter to consider them always true.Facts are indifferent to their use and misuse. A fact outside of it’s context is about as useful as a paddle in the middle of the ocean without a boat. A context will contain a logical structure. The logical structure is subjective. Subjective logic is always an opinion. Thus a fact is in itself a creature of opinion. Without opinion a fact has no home and wanders about aimlessly.A sound and valid argument will rely on facts and opinions which are harmonious with the context in which they are used. Thus they are “true”. True itself being a relative, because many things are true, just some things are truer than others. The truest answer of all known answers is considered the correct answer and often imbued with the incorrect assumption it is the one and only true answer. This is binary logic and binary logic is a poor substitute for reason. Even a light switch isn’t truly totally on or off. A light switch turned off merely reduces current to undetectable levels of current. Thus “off”.Perhaps a better question is why do some people fail to construct sound reasoning in the formation of their opinions?
