What Percentage Of Turks Hate Arabs

What do Arabs think about Turks?

The Arabs and the Turks do not like each other from the very begining basically because both of these nations are egoistic and do not like to be ruled upon. When the Ottomans took up the caliphate from the Fatimids and controlled the Middle East, Arabs were infuriated from within. The nationalist and superiority complex of Arabs did not allow them to be ruled by inferior Non-Arabs. The boiling was always there. The first real break through was during the first world war when the British used Lawrence of Arabia to initiate a proper rebellion against the Turks and Arabs from Najd were successful in breaking off from the Ottomans. Germans loosing the war made Turks loose by default and the French and British took the opportunity to dismental the Ottoman lands establishing Arab nations. During these days the Arabs openly rebelled against the Turkish forces who were fighting against the British. The Palestinians changed sides during the war and attacked the Ottomans from the back. This was the final drop for the Turks.Things deteriorated further during the evacuation of the Turks from the Arab lands when Beduins started attacking on the tired worn beaten soldiers returning back to Turkish lands. The hatred grew between them which was further oiled up by external forces. In the near history Syrian and Iraqi Bathist governments supported the terrorist PKK earlier the same countries supported ASALA the Armenian terrorist group which shows the hatred against the Turks. Today the Turkish government is supporting the terrorists against the Syrian government. The Turks are infuriated beyond belief over the unjust policies for the Syrian refugees over the Turkish nationals. The Syrian refugees who are living the dream (mostly) in Turkey are creating the unrest among the Turks and the Turkish government which is collecting huge amounts in the name of refugees and putting in their pockets is fueling up this fued for its benefits and political elevation. In short, Turks do not like the Arabs and Arabs do not like the Turks due to political scenarios and official policies mostly by the current Turkish government. Civilian people are completely oblivious to this hatred and the Arabs adore the Turkish arts and cultural products. They see Turks as refined Europeans who happen to be Muslims with a class.

What do Turks think of Arabs?

Personally as a Turk, I feel extremely close to especially Levantine Arabs, and many of my closest friends in America are from the Arab World. In fact, I often get along better with Syrians and Palestinians then I do with Turks from Istanbul (my family is from Kayseri in Central Turkey). Although Turks will likely refuse to admit this, we are culturally very close to the Levant, and always have been. So in general, I consider Arabs to be my brothers and sisters. That being said, unfortunately I am a minority. Part of the problem is that Arab hatred, racism and propaganda are literally baked in to Turkish society. From a young age, we are taught that Arabs are “backwards,” “anti-women,” “anti-democracy,” “anti-liberal,” “anti-modern…” you name it. As a matter of fact, I have seen especially many “Kemalist” Turks claiming that Erdogan is trying to “Arabize” Turkey, whatever that means? Because apparently “everything wrong” with our country comes from the Arab World(!) Turks literally blame all their problems on Arabs, and refuse to take responsibility for our country’s short-comings. Apparently all the Honor Killings that happen in Turkey are a “direct result of Arab cultural influence.” Of course, that’s utter bullsh*t.Also, for some reason Turks have this idea that Arabs “betrayed us” during World War 1 because some Arab countries revolted against the Ottoman Empire. So I guess when Turks fight for freedom against European colonialism, we are completely “justified.” But when Arabs fight against Ottoman colonialism, they are all the sudden “backstabbers.” It’s ridiculous and hypocritical. So unfortunately, Turks tend to be very prejudiced towards the Arab World, and I sincerely don’t understand why it continues to this day. Regardless, this form of racism is a serious issue in Turkey. I would just like to take a moment to sincerely apologize to people from the Arab World: I’m so sorry if you have ever faced racism from Turks. I pray that one day we will finally cast away these horrid prejudices.Like I said, we are all much more similar than we are different; so it is high time that we start acting like the brothers and sisters we should be. At least, that’s my opinion. I hope that my words didn’t come out wrong or offend anyone. Peace be upon us all.

Greeks, do u hate Turks?

1st of all you are wrong, I do not think that most of the Greek people hate Turkish people. Unfortunately some of them still hate us becoz of the problems in the past.

2nd, it would be better for you to ask a question like "Turks, do u hate foreigners?" in the category Türkiye. You have to interest in Turkish peoples ideas about foreigners if u will visit Türkiye.

I m sure all the answers will be "NO".

I love Greeks, Italians, Germans, English, Americans, Arabs, Asians, every citizen in the world except frenchs.

Good luck and enjoy Türkiye...

Is Turkey an Arab country?

Well I am assuming you are asking about the primary religion of Turkey. Turkey is a secular state with a large percentage of the population who follow Islam.

Turkey can't be an Arabic country. Arabic is not the primary language, it's Turkish. It also does not lie on the Arabian Peninsula, so geographically it can't be as well. Turkey is in both Europe and Asia.

Why are some Arabs hostile against Turks?

Which Arabs? Some governments may have some opposition to the Turkish government. This may effect the people of the that government (the Syrian government as an example). This has nothing to do with the Ottoman Empire, nor the Prophet’s saying. With regards to the Ottoman Empire, it is only the last few decades that had some hostility. The Ottoman policies towards the countries under their rule changed to become very oppressive, all petitions by Arabs have been denied, which eventually resulted in the Arab revolt (yes, Lawrence was not why the Arabs revolted, but this can be the subject of another question). Before that, things were fine. In the first few decades of the New Turkish state under Ataturk, the state itself was not very popular among Arabs, but relations between them and the Turks were very minimal. Today Arabs hold no historical grudges against Turks. The Hadith does not specify Turks of Turkey (there were no Turks in Anatolia then), rather, it speaks of a Turkic people - this is clear in the Hadith, should you read it in Arabic. Moreover, the ‘you’ in the Hadith does not refer to Arabs, it refers to Muslims in general. Regardless of how religious the modern Turks are, Arabs generally still consider them Muslims. Besides, the analogy of the shield simply means that they will have round flat faces, it is described in other Hadiths. So, what it is basically saying, is that at some time in the future, the Muslims will fight a non-Muslim Turkic nation or group of people. Some scholars argue that this happened (the Mongols) other claim that this is similar to the descriptions of Gog an Magog, but most scholars say that this is something that will happen in the future that we know nothing about and there are no signs to this happening soon. Accordingly, this could not possibly cause any Arabs to have any hostility towards the modern day Turks, if anything, the Turks as well as most other Turkic peoples are Muslims, so Arabs would expect that they would be fighting alongside them, not against them, in the aforementioned war.I would say that generally speaking, Arabs are not hostile towards Turks.
