What Product Packaging Do You Guys Personally Hate

Pure Romance packaging.. Do the packages really not say 'Pure Romance' on them?

DONT ORDER FROM THEM!!!! Their products are crap. Seriously. I went to one of their 'toy' parties.... there were 30 girls there... all 30 of us ended up with crap products. They didn't work. Or if they did work, it was for 20 mins, then it died. they have the most horrendous customer service. It took me 3 months to get a 'working' toy. They refused to give me a refund even after I explained I didn't want their shittey product. My friends and other people at the party had the same exact issue. One friend was told she was getting a 2 foot long braided leather whip... and she ended up with a 6 inch plastic toy whip thing that broke when she whipped it against the wall straight out the package.... for $45.
liberator.com is a bit better... it's kind of a 'you get what you pay for' deal.
Spencer gifts sells okay stuff if you're on a budget.
adameve.com has some decent stuff but again, if it's cheaply priced, it's cheaply made.
Look for products that offer some form of warranty.
If they say it comes in an unmarked box, it will come in an unmarked box. Have it delivered to a friends house.... one that doesn't live with their parents.
But, do not order from pure romance if you want a decent sex toy. Their lubes and other things are okay... but their toys, whips, handcuffs etc are shitee.

Why do guys hate being called 'cute'?

OK, my boyfriend is adorable, and I call him cute, and he HATES it. I don't know why. He calls me cute all the time and I'm a girl, and he thinks its ok. I like it but don't like it, but he seems to HATE it when I call him that. Supposedly most guys are like this, because even my friends hate it when I call them cute as a joke.

What does Victoria's Secret online order packaging look like?

The packaging is (or used to be) discreet, but their initials - VS - are on the return address. If someone was bored and had a lot of time, they could figure out who you were receiving packages from...

I wouldn't worry about it - Victoria's Secrets sells a lot of items for men and women which are normal, wholesome, and non-provocative even in the most staid and strait-laced communities.

If the staff is so underworked that they are reading the return addresses on all packages, then they are also reading your postcards, magazines, and newspapers, checking the size and weight of your phone bills, steaming open your personal letters, and intercepting at least half of your packages. As well as keeping track of the time of arrival and departure of all your visitors and probably looking through your keyhole... If the are that hard up, then you are doing them a service by giving them at least a little bit of excitement in what must be an excruciatingly dull and depressing existence.

You go, girl...

Why do leading companies have bad product design, while some low-key businesses with less resources have amazing designs?

You’re right in that it’s not because people care more about what’s in the bottle most of the time, but not all of the time.Personally, I see two different styles of design on the bottles, but I don’t think the one you believe is bad is actually bad, it’s just that you do not like it. That doesn’t make it a bad design, just not to your taste. Personally, I prefer the classic look in this case, and I prefer the first one. But, to answer your question, there are a number of reasons.Has anyone seen this?Image Courtesy of Nick Nicholas from Bug? or Feature?Quora’s designers are able to upload changes to the website within minutes, without doing any testing. And because we run constant deployment, and designers can push to production, a Quora designer can make changes and see them live on the site in minutes. This is a case where a bad design was pushed to the front, but because Quora is already successful, their existing customers care more about “what’s in the bottle”, and it’s such a minor change that while there was some annoyance, it didn’t do much, but there was enough that it was changed back.Or maybe an actual designer saw it and changed it back.Do you remember when Gap decided to change their logo?Image Courtesy of Gap's new logo flopsThe backlash was so bad, they decided to change it back after a week. The branding of a company is important, and logos contribute to that image of a company, so I do believe that this is different. Those are big companies with bad designs, with two different reactions. The designs are on a different scale, sure, but it does show that big companies have bad design with bad reactions. When I worked for a small business, I was the only designer there. Sure, there were people who could make designs, but before I was there they outsourced their designs to a company in Italy. So, when I came along, I was given a lot of freedom, and while I was asked to make some changes I disagreed with, it wasn’t often.I don’t consider myself to be the best designer, but the point I am trying to make is that, sometimes, in low key businesses, the designer gets more freedom, because there are fewer levels of control in the company. It also helps if that designer is good.

Older people age 40-60: What kind of designs do you guys like?

I'm 20, a 2nd year student in advertising and graphic designing program. I always wonder, what kind of designs attracts you guys? Do you guys (I know not neccessarily) like "antique" or historical feels? Does it even matter to you guys when you purchase a product or packaging?

I know for us younger people, we tend to get picky about how things look and what is eye-appealing to us. I'm just not sure what runs in older people's mind?
