What Ranged Units Are There For Chaos Daemons

Warhammer 40k Chaos Daemons?

there was (at one point) a sort of promotional box/ starter set that came with the codex and a few units of deamons. Though its no longer n production, i still see it on shelves now and then.

"This is your chance to own a Daemon force before anyone else. Packed with a selection of the new plastic and metal Daemons such as the Beast of Nurgle, and fantastic new special characters, such as the Masque of Slaanesh, these sets are available two weeks before the main release. Also included is Codex: Chaos Daemons. This boxed set contains: Codex: Chaos Daemons, 10 Bloodletters of Khorne, 10 Daemonettes of Slaanesh, 5 Flesh Hounds of Khorne, 1 Bloodcrusher of Khorne, 1 Beast of Nurgle, 1 Fiend of Slaanesh, 1 Soul Grinder, Epidemius, Karanak, Skulltaker and The Masque.."

as it stands this is the only compiled pack of deamon models. if you interested (and are in a position to do so) you can get it from the GW store in the queen street mall in brisbane.

Do you have any advice for running Chaos Daemons in Warhammer 40k?

Remember first and foremost what your army is going to be by being nurgle slannesh only, the undying anvil and the rapid hammer. Slanneshi daemons are brital, but with rending they pack a punch and their high I stat means they usually go first. Priority one is getting them into CC with anything with a 2+ save.Keeper of secrets has a I of 10, a high strength and AP2 from being a monster. She will reliably kill most characters. Getting her there will be tough, but that's why you need to play smart. Don't tie her up on cannon fodder! Not used slanneshi cavalry personally, but it strikes fast and hard so if you need reach, get some in.Now while your Slanneshi daemons are murdering everything (and dying to a strong breeze) you have your nurgle daemons. These guys are tough as nails, and are amazing at tying units up. Try and keep them on the recieving end of punishment. Make use of the fact they have shrouded! It gives them a 5+ cover save out in the open (the same as their invun save) but when they get in cover it makes that cover 2 points better. A 2+ save in ruins is yummy. On that note, daemons mostly suck at shooting, but the soul grinder doesn't. With phlegm cannon it can drop large blasts on your foe that will chew holes in them at a decent range. Slap a Nurgle mark on it and watch your 13 armour points save 5/6 of the rare few shots that get though. Even meltacide can be survived sometimes on area terrain!Last tip, in high points games remember to keep your warlord as the great unclean one, if you run one. Those things are nigh on unkillable if you play smart, and your foe will waste fire on trying for slay the warlord.

Has there been a case where a Space Marine used a Lasgun?

Space Marines generally do not use lasguns. Because firstly they are the soldiers you send in to kill the things the Guard can't so it makes little sense to equip them with the same equipment. Also keep in mind that each and every space marine represents a very significant investment of resources by the Imperium. That's one of the reasons why they get the best possible equipment. And the humble lasgun can hardly be described as such.Devastator marines do make use of the not so humble Lascannon though. At the end of the day there is no clear advantage to switching over to las weaponry , aside from it being cheaper and several major disadvantages. So aside from desperate situations such as a lasgun picked up from a downed Guardsmen and used as a last ditch weapon by a marine who has run out ammo or something, i don't think the Astartes will be discarding their bolters anytime soon.Plus you know, they are just so much cooler…
