What Sad Acts Will Be On This Section Tomorrow Then

Acting Help? Preforming monologue tomorrow?

You said you used to act. A monologue is different from a dialogue. It is a difficult because there is no one else on stage to prompt you on the next line. You need to do it all by yourself.

It would help if the monologue is shorter. But if you cannot remember it, memorize the monologue in sections. Create a mnemonic device and write it on the palm of your hands to help trigger the next line.

If you are going to memorize ten paragraphs, write five letters on one palm and five letters on the other palm in different colors to help identify which line paragraph you are saying. No one will know if you skip a word because they don't know what you have memorized. Stage fright is normal and stuttering is a result of stage fright. At least you can still speak. Some people can't speak at all on stage.

Just take it easy. If meunomic devices is not your cup of tea, try identifyig people you know will attend and when you look at them, it will trigger some memory of which lines to say next. Make sure those people are going to be there. If they are not there, it will not work. Break a leg.

How to act sad for a monologue?

Usually it's all about breathing.

When people get nervous they forget to breathe normally, so less blood and oxygen gets to the brain. When that happens you feel physically sick and your body does all sorts of unpleasant things.

When you start to tense up, lower your shoulders, then breathe in slowly and deeply, through your nose, to the count of 4, then out, through your mouth, to the count of 4. Like IN, 2, 3, 4, and OUT, 2, 3, 4 ...and so on.
Keep going for several minutes.
Think of nothing at all but your breathing.
And then smile. I know that sounds stupid, but the act of smiling makes you feel much more relaxed.
Practise doing this now - over and over again.
After a while it will come as second nature - the moment you feel yourself getting stressed think 'breathing', find a quiet spot to sit down, and go through the exercise for at least 5 minutes.
Honestly - loads of professional actors use this method and it works.
Good luck!

Samuel said, "If yesterday was tomorrow, today would be Friday." When did Samuel speak?

It's most certainly Sunday.   If Saturday was tomorrow then today would be Friday.  And if Saturday is yesterday then today is Sunday.  Set: Misty Sunday morning at a seafood brunch in Staffordshire:Samuel: "If yesterday (Saturday) was tomorrow, (meaning if Saturday was tomorrow) then today would be Friday." Samuel's sister Daylene:  "Yes.  You are correct, Samuel."Set:  Clear and cloudless Wednesday evening standing in a random parking lot:Samuel: "If yesterday (Tuesday) was tomorrow, (meaning if Tuesday was tomorrow) then today would be Friday."Samuel's friend Jonah:  "No, you fool.  If Tuesday was tomorrow that would mean that today is Monday.  Buy a calendar."Samuel: "Sorry.  I've been drinking quite heavily since that seafood brunch last Sunday.  I'm a bit confused."  Jonah:  "That's okay, Samuel.  I'm quite drunk myself as well.  Let's go bowling."Samuel:  "No.  I'd rather wait until tomorrow is yesterday.  Fridays are always better for me." Jonah:  "Fine then.  Be that way.  You're a crappy bowler anyway."Samuel:  "That's not very nice to say.  I try my best."Jonah:  "Whatever."edit:  since posting I've read several answers that are unnecessarily convoluting the phrasing and its interpretation.  If I said, "If I was a Russian sailor...."  What would that mean?It would mean we are about to begin operating under the assumption that I (the first noun) actually am a Russian sailor (the second noun).  Very simple.  If I said, "If I was a millionaire..."  what would that mean?  It would mean we are about to begin operating under the assumption that I (the first noun) actually am a millionaire (the second noun).  Very simple.  If I said, "If yesterday was tomorrow...."  What would that mean?  It would mean we are about to begin operating under the assumption that yesterday (the first noun) actually is tomorrow (the second noun).  Very simple.

What are some crazy SAT/ACT stories?

I was in a study group when one of my peers shared his story:He was ready to ace the SAT with his two pre-sharpened pencils and a fresh eraser, however during the middle of the exam, both his pencils’ leads had broken off.He did not have a sharpener. How he forgot or neglected to bring a sharpener beats me.Someone around had a sharpener, so he raised his hand to ask for the proctor’s permission to use her sharpener. The proctor refused and went back to reading. Sweating profusely and hands trembling under the stress, he pleaded, “Please, let me sharpen my pencil. I’ll do it in front of you if you have any suspicions of me cheating!”But, the proctor was not budging. My friend was not having it; he paid for the exam and most importantly, he knew he was going to do well because he studied immensely. So what did he do?He broke his pencil in half with his teeth and gnawed around the tip to break down the wood, enough so that a considerable amount of lead poked through. He bit the wood off this portion of the pencil and not the other because he thought he would likely wind up with the taste of graphite. He successfully, after a good 10 or so minutes, managed to have a pencil good enough to write with but only if he applied stable enough pressure to not break off the tip.Just imagine the sounds and grunts he made along the way and the uncomfortable looks of the other students, but they weren’t the ones suffering.I think he finished the exam, but did not have enough time and therefore, did not get quite the score he expected. I’m pretty sure he took it again and this time, with a sharpener. So my fellow students and exam takers, you see these:And these? They save lives, I tell you. Please bring a sharpener.

How do you teach someone how to act??

If this person is still laughing, then he/she is not in character. He/She hasn't developed the character to where he is feeling "the moment of the first time." After repeated rehearsals, thing become very "matter of fact," and laughing or not laughing when a character should can be upsetting to other cast members. This person is certainly not going to learn this over night. I think you are dealing with someone who was never serious about his role to begin with. If you and the other cast members do your best and stay in character, it will be evident to the audience that he didn't try.
Break a Leg!
