What Say You . Most Say Tonight Was Obama

Why do you think Obama's religious views are being questioned more then McCain's?

We all know about the recent controversy surrounding Jeremiah Wright, who is the reverend of the church Obama attends. Much has been talked about some of the remarks Wright has made, and how it relates to Obama. We know about this from the 24/7 coverage in the media about this.

But McCain has embraced Jerry Falwell recently. This is the same person who has made negative remarks toward Jews, blacks, and public education. And not to mention he gave partial blame for 9/11 to pagans, homosexuals, and feminists.

I was wondering why the media has made such a big deal about Obama, but not as much about McCain? Your thoughts?

Questions for all Obama Haters/Lovers?

I have been browsing questions and I came up with some theories. If you answer these questions, it would be really appreciated.

1. Do you like President Obama?
2. Why do you like him/dislike him?
3. What state do you live in?
4. Do you think he will actually reform America?
5. What age range are you? (you don't have to tell me your exact age)
6. Did you watch the inaguration?
7. Views on his speech?
8. Anything else you would like to say?

10 points for a good answer!

Why did President Barack Obama (politician) say "great job tonight" to Leon Panetta at the 2012 State of the Union Address?

Anon User had the proximate reason for the President's effusive thanks and compliments.Note also that Adm. William H. McRaven, who organized the Bin Laden operation and now commands the U.S. joint services Special Operations Command, sat close to Mrs. Obama during the speech and was singled out by the camera during the speech.Panetta is a great resource for the President, and has contributed to Obama's successes, from the Bin Laden raid to the withdrawal from Iraq and the beginnings of extrication from Afghanistan, and to getting a firmer grip on the Defense budget and the Armed Services' futures.  Panetta as Secretary of Defense, former CIA Director, former Director of Bill Clinton's White House Office of Management & Budget, and a former Representative in Congress, knows all of the most important roles in Washington, and could advise the President on almost anything in the State of the Union speech.

Election tommorow! Obama and McCain. My perspective, give me yours....?

What is important after all? Is it the political factions that have created themselves over the years? You know, the very factions that cause republicans to label there opponent as socialistic ... this is ridiculous, I am voting for Obama, because in concise sipler terms: he is real, he is himself and has stayed and stood by the same things he stood for when he started this candidacy. McCain reminds me of some little kid that cannot find a reason to tell his mother that he failed his spelling test. My gosh, and Sarah Palin? are you serious? McCain, dude, ker-planck!! I should slap you myself!! Palin is completly unqualified and in reality and all fairness, she is stupid!!! (evidence is indicated by palin taking numerous odd years to get her degree in journalism!! mccain graduated 800--odd something out of close to 900 people. Obama graduated #1 in harvard!! , I just wished these ugly political smears would stop, and that FOX news would actually start keeping true to its slogan "fair and balanced". Please and oh yeah fire sean hannity!!, he is an embosole. Well I know I will be getting alot of replies from both democrats and republicans I post this, please keep it without all these political lies off. I just have one question to republicans: was the vice presidential choosing of sarah palin justified and correctly and wisely chosen? what really is mccain saying when he refers to the word "change", what will he change from president bush?

What does Barack Obama think of Donald Trump? Has he ever expressed something related to him?

What does President Barack Obama think of Trump? Let’s count ‘em. Insecure, egotistical, Angry, immature, liar, b/s artist, not a true billionaire, etc. If there are any other aspects about this FAKE prez, Trump. Please! By all means fill in the blank____________________.The first encounter President Obama had with Trump at the White House. President Obama could sense Trump was not paying attention. The second meeting President Obama tried his best to explain the seriousness of being president. Again. Trump was ignorant to the fact of what being president would entail. TRUMP JUST DID NOT PAY ATTENTION. We the people are now paying the price of this incompetent boob. The lack of knowledge on both Domestic/Foreign front is proof positive Trump is incoherent. The first US embarrassment would be at both G-7,G-20 conferences. The US was made to look like we were represented by a buffoon. You Bethca!!!!!Trump was made a fool of, and was laughed at by leaders of other nations. As Angela Merkel stated at the G-20. “The US is not the leader ‘She’ once was of the free world.” Thanks Trump! In no time in history that I can remember has a successor demeaned, showed lack of respect of his predecessor the way Trump has to President Obama. As bad as Bush was. President Obama had respect for Bush as former Chief Executive. Many in the US and ’round the world wanted President Obama to bring War Crimes Charges against Bush/Cheney. President Obama stated. “There will be no more talk on this subject as long as I am president.” Respect whether right or wrong. Bush looks great because of Trump. Bush should send a thank you card to Trump for upping his approval ratings.President Obama as we all know is a decent man. As far as telling anyone outside of his family and close friends. President Obama will not say one way or another about his thoughts on Trump. It just isn’t worth President Obama’s time and effort.

Why don't President Obama and the Democrats get more credit for lowering the payroll tax?

Speaking as an outsider to the USA…Because you live in a messed up post-truth country.Ask most people outside of the US what they think about Obama, and they’ll say that while he might have been too hands off during and after the Arab Spring, the drone strikes in the Middle East and the dealing with privacy and security issues were sub par, his handling of the economy and foreign policy was otherwise excellent. We know he’s made major steps to make the US a better place.Ask a republican in the US what they think, and they’ll say the US economy is in the shitter (It’s significantly better than it was under Bush), that he’s decimated the military (maybe by like, 2%, it’s still more powerful than the next three nations combined), and that he’s the most corrupt president ever (Cheney and Halliburton? Nixon?).Many people on both sides are in an echo chamber; one is an echo chamber of opinion (the ‘Democrat’ side), the other side doesn’t even care about facts anymore.

What did you think of Barack Obama's farewell speech?

I listened during my commute on NPR affiliate KQED but had to make a stop and missed some of the middle. I appreciated it, though he didn’t really break any new ground. On a technical note, the echoes made it a little hard to listen to. I don’t know if anyone carried better audio.I saw it as Obama’s statement of values, his call not to lose heart for the future, and his understated but cutting challenge to the next administration. I noted this part especially:If I had told you eight years ago that America would reverse a great recession, reboot our auto industry, and unleash the longest stretch of job creation in our history…if I had told you that we would open up a new chapter with the Cuban people, shut down Iran’s nuclear weapons program without firing a shot, and take out the mastermind of 9/11…if I had told you that we would win marriage equality, and secure the right to health insurance for another 20 million of our fellow citizens – you might have said our sights were set a little too high.ACA and probably the Iran deal are directly threatened by the next administration. I appreciate Obama’s reference to them as alive and well, even as I have mentally written them off. We need to remember the America that could have been, to fight for it, and to hold accountable those who would (and probably will) destroy it. Obama spoke of how America is right now and could be, but I think we all know that it is not the America that will remain a month from now. This was a bittersweet moment and should be a call to action. The appreciations toward the end (of Michelle and others) were very touching. I have never felt more warmly about a president in my lifetime, though I have tremendous admiration for Jimmy Carter. I expect Obama to be just as active in his private life as Carter has been, and who knows, we may one day begin again to build Obama’s vision from the rubble of the coming years.

What was the greatest speech of Barack Obama?

The greatest speech of Barack Obama, you say… I have to go with his speech at the historic Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama. That particular day marked the 50th anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery marches of 1965—a truly pivotal event of the Civil Rights Movement. The speech President Obama delivered on the bottom of that bridge touched upon America’s never-ending push for justice, equality, and opportunity for all. If ever you find yourself thinking pessimistically about the future of America, have a listen to President Obama’s Selma speech, which I have made conveniently available below. You cannot help but be moved by the fact that a nation whose history was markedly anti-black ended up electing one as its President. To that achievement, may I say, “God Bless America!”PS: The president’s senior speechwriter at the time, Cody Keenan, says it too is his favorite Obama speech. Also consider his 2004 keynote address at the Democratic National Convention.Excerpt:“It is that fundamental belief—I am my brother’s keeper, I am my sister’s keeper—that makes this country work. It’s what allows us to pursue our individual dreams and yet still come together as one American family. E pluribus unum: Out of many, one. Now, even as we speak, there are those who are preparing to divide us—the spin masters, the negative ad peddlers—who embrace the politics of anything goes. Well, I say to them tonight, there is not a liberal America and a conservative America—there is the United States of America. There is not a black America and a white America and Latino America and Asian America—there’s the United States of America.”On December 16, 2012, Obama delivered another great speech, in Connecticut, in which he took the time to honor each and every one of the 20 children killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting. The tragedy took place just two days before the president’s speech. His voice was very much needed during a time of mourning for our country. I recommend your having tissues by your side if you decide to YouTube it.Anyways, thanks for asking.Originally answered: What was the greatest speech of Barack Obama?UPDATE: I totally forgot to mention his 2011 Osama bin Laden speech! That's one of his greatest speeches for sure due to its historic significance.I also would like to mention a few more great speeches by President Obama:his memorial speech for Nelson Mandelahis inaugural addressesDon't miss them!
