What Should Happen Next Help Me With My Writer

Help me with Sentence Rewrite?

1) I can't help but wonder whether or not he isn't unwelcome.

The double negative needs to be eliminated. Proper sentences would be:

I can't help but wonder whether or not he's unwelcome.
I can't help but wonder whether or not he's welcome.
I can't help but wonder whether or not he isn't welcome.

2) The book Biofeedback: How to Stop It is a good book because of all the good ideas the writer put into it.

In this sentence, punctuate this way:

The book, Biofeedback: How to Stop It, is a good book because of all the good ideas the writer put into it.

The title of the book should also be underlined, but I can't do that in Answers.

3) His assistent stole the magician's bag of tricks. The magician became disillsioned,

The magician became disillusioned when his assistant stole his bag of tricks.

Please note the 2 words you misspelled.

4) Afraid poor repair service will ruin your next road trip? Come to the Fix-It Shop and be sure. If your car has worn-out part, we'll replace it with one just like it.

No repair shop is going to sell you much service by guaranteeing a ruined road trip and installing worn out parts. It should read something like this:

Afraid poor repair service will ruin your next road trip? Come to the Fix-It Shop and assure yourself of a trouble free trip. If your car has worn-out parts, we'll replace them with a new matching part.

5) I've signed up for a course at my local college, it is "Cultivating the Mold in your Refrigerator for fun and profit."

The title of the course isn't capitalized properly:

I've signed up for a course at my local college, titled "Cultivating the Mold in Your Refrigerator for Fun and Profit."

The link below takes you to a style document for title capitalization.

Can you help me with how to write this story?

The first step in writing a story, is knowing what exactly do you want to write. For instance, you have a story in your mind, you have to sit down and write it. Don't care about spelling or grammar. You are writing it because you want to and you won't rest until you do. You have to organize the plot line. Who's the hero? Who's the villain/enemy? What's going to happen? How you should end the story? Etc....

Now here's a mistake a lot of writers/authors do. They choose the title after writing the story, which is absolutely wrong. You have to decide what the title should be before even writing the story.

Here are the basic steps of writing a good novel:

1. Free Write: is a prewriting technique in which a person writes continuously for a set period of time without regard to spelling, grammar, or topic. It produces raw, often unusable material, but helps writers overcome blocks of apathy and self-criticism.

2. Expand the book idea sentence into a paragraph summery

3. Plan the book summary

4. Writing the chapters: You have to know how many words should each chapter contain. For example, my stories usually contain 1305 words each chapter.

5. Story moral: It's not a basic step, but highly recommended.

As a writer, what rituals do you have to help you start writing?

The rituals I have to help me start writing, aren’t so much rituals, as they are essential requirements for me to actually get in the mood and the mindset to write effectively.I usually begin, whether on the ride home, or while doing something that I know will immediately precede writing, with thinking about what I want to write and what I had written the last time. I review what my thought process was because I know the best ideas take a long time to come to the surface. By giving myself an hour or so before I write to think about the next conversation, conflict, or development, I ensure that my mind has already stretched to begin thinking creatively, instead of sitting down at the desk, or on the couch, and expecting inspiration to happen spontaneously. This is especially important if it’s been a busy day, or I know I won’t have time to sit and think when I finally get to write. If I only have a half hour to write as much as I can, I would prefer to use that time actually writing, pouring my thoughts into words, instead of thinking with my pen in my mouth.A great way to do this is to not write everything you know you want to write each day. Write as much as you want/can, up until the point where you don’t know what will happen, but stop just short. That way, the next time you begin to think about what happens next, you already have a springboard of something you know you want to happen, but isn’t on the page yet. It’s a bit like saving a bit of water to prime the pump. Then, when I finally get to sit down and write, I spend some time reading. I scroll up, or turn back a few pages and begin reading what I had written the last couple days. Depending on how much I had written it could take fifteen minutes or one, either way it draws me back into the world I was writing yesterday.I imagine doing this is akin to running alongside a train and then jumping on, instead of just getting on when it is stopped and waiting for it to start. When you finally reach the part where the words stop, you will have an image in your mind of what happens next, or what the character says next, and it feels much more natural to continue the flow of what you feel should be next, instead of trying to jump in cold. These are the “rituals” that help me get started writing, and I find it works even when I need to begin writing something new. 1, Thinking about it before I sit down to write, and 2, reading what I’ve written before to get into the flow.

What are some things that would help a writer to stay focused?

How to stay focused while you're writingTurn off your cell phone notifications and ringerTurn off the sound on your computer and/or disconnect from the internet so no popups or noises can distract youWhenever you get stuck or aren't making progress get up and take a 5 minute walk to think about what you're going to write next (even if you're just walking in circles in your office). Walking has been shown to increase your ability to come up with creative ideas by up to 100%.Close the door. Put a sign on the door that you are not to be disturbed. If you're writing in public or around other people in an open office, consider buying noise-canceling headphones. You don't need to listen to anything but you can turn the headphones on to block out all distracting noises.Use blue light blocking glasses or the app flux to remove blue light so your eyes have an easier time looking at the screen if you write on a computer.Whenever you find yourself getting distracted of you feel like quitting or doing something else, stand up, grab a notebook and pen and write down this question, "How can I best communicate the ideas and messages I'm trying to communicate in my writing right now?"

Help writing a thesis and intro?

i've never had to write a thesis on a historical paper but now I do. and I have cracked. I have no clue how to do this.

my topic is how the glorious revolution affected the English colonies in the United States.

Should I structure my paper as

intro+thesis
1st paragraph-on what happened
2nd paragraph- how it helped colonies in the U.S.

OR

intro+thesis-put what happened in the revolution
and have two body paragraphs on how it helped the colonies in U.S.

if the first one is better, any suggestions on what I could put in the intro? and any help on the thesis?

I'm not asking anyone to do this for me...I just need assistance on the intro and thesis because I've never done this before so negative commenters, don't even bother wasting yours and my time.

Who can help me with script writing?

Your best coach right now will be the software used to do that.Buy a copy of Final Draft 9 or 10. Get to learn the conventions and basics. There are others too. Movie Magic, Celtx, Storyboard, WriteitNow, Contour. Each one works differently. But before you get into writing scripts plan and design your storyline, your plot and characters, locations, settings, etc. These will dictate how your script is going to work.I started out writing novels. After publishing them I went into scripting. At the very beginning of the journey I knew what to do and how to do it. I had no coach. But I did an extensive amount of reading.A good start may be checking out sites which show you completed scripts. You can also download full scripts of famous movies and study them.I have about 25 of the good ones but its too long and laborious to display here. Most of the time I subscribe to leading sites which coach you through. For a start look into Social Network for Film, TV and Theatre Creatives - Education and Pitching - Stage 32 which gives you fairly good coverage. Next go join International Screenwriters Association where you will get a coach and entry to forums. Perhaps you should look at www.Blacklist.com where scripts are displayed each month for persual. Try Celtx - Free Scriptwriting & All-In-One Production Studios who have some pretty good downloads. When you come to the next stage look at Jason Brubakers website. He runs some excellent suggestions. You will need Home Page - Lightspeed eps to break your script down into its component parts for production. Thats if you are going in that direction. This should give you a start into the complex world of movie making. If you have a script already done I could help you with a quick read and suggestions for improvement or tell you honestly if its on the right track.Good luck. Hope you do well. If I come back to this question again I will list all the info graphics on my smartphone to help you polish your work. At the moment i am in pre-production and I tell you there are a thousand new things I still need to learn before the flag drops.Cheers
