What is the best starter pokemon on pokemon Black?
It all depends on the way you want to play. If you choose Tepig and have good other teammates you will definitely win the main story easy. With Snivy you have a all-around good Pokemon, if you play it right you can definitely win. With Oshawot its definitely a challenge, it'll be hard but much fun and helps raise experience. I suggest that you go with your heart, and whatever starter you get, you should have a Pokemon that is the defeats the type of the starter for example: Snivy with a water, ground, or rock type Pokemon Tepig with a grass, or electric type Pokemon Oshawot with a fire. ice, poison, flying, or bug type Pokemon. Oshawott is the best choice out of the Unova starters. It can be either physical or special and has a decent movepool for both. Oshawott is also the most useful for playing through the game with. Snivy is only good if it has the dream world ability "contrary;" however Unova region starters have not been released in the dream world as of now. Snivy does not learn a variety of moves. By level up it only learns grass and normal type attacks that do damage. Tepig is okay, but it is mediocre in comparison to Chimchar and Torchic, the other two starters who gain the fighting type when evolved. Emboar will not receive a good fighting move on its own (only learns Hammer Arm via the move re-learner). It can learn superpower as an egg move, but that is still inferior to close combat that Infernape receives and hi jump kick that Blaziken receives.

Well i am personally a Fire starter trainer and i have taken every fire starter since the games came out and i can honestly say...i hate tepig...with a passion. I personally went with Oshawatt and i found him very good. I've never liked grass types though so i didnt think Snivy was good though snivy does have amazing speed once it become Serperior. going off the possibility of you keeping snivy, first find pokemon to cover it's weaknesses. Find good electric type like Jolteon or Eelektross. next find a good water type to cover his weakness of fire, maybe tympole or azurill. now that his biggest weaknesses are out of the way, find wall pokemon. Knowing what i know from Black 2, the best wall pokemon i have ever found was a ferrothorn (evolution of ferroseed). next find a good attack pokemon, any fighting type will do but riolu is a good choice and is easy to pick up early in the game but if you wait out and find an axew, once he becomes a haxorus, he will be a nearly unstoppable power house. Lastly find any other pokemon you may want in your team, by then i wouldve entered in a fire type like charmander or cyndaquil, but thats just me since my favorite pokemon are Charizard and Typhlosion. If you mean a starter Pokemon then go with either; which type you like best, which is the coolest or best looking, or which is the cutest, stuff like that. FYI: Tepig evolves into a dual Fire & Fighting type the others do not get a second typing. Also in Striaton city, the first city with a gym, if you go to the upper right from the gym you'll enter the Dreamyard and after two trainer battles you can talk to a girl who''ll give you a Pokemon that's weak against your starter but strong against the gym leaders' Pokemon. So type-wise it's almost like having two starters. If you mean what team you should put together then that's really up to you. Nope, you can't make Poffins or even PokéBlocks in Black or White, they removed those types of things because you can't plant berries anywhere within Black or White and also there are no Pokémon Contests anywhere within Black or White. On top of which they also changed the way Feebas evolves due to the removal of Contests as well as Contest-related stats.
