What Should I Do About A Stye Forming Under My Eyelid

What could have caused a stye to form on my eyelid?

Your stye is most likely caused by a clogged tear duct or hair follicle. You have hair follicles that run all along the inside of your eyelid. Don't use ice packs, try applying a hot washrag to your stye. Only make it as hot as you can stand it without burning yourself, so it will make the stye swell and come to a head so you can apply pressure to it until it pops. If you are very careful you can poke the stye with a needle and drain it. It will most likely take a few days of constant heat pads until it comes to a head, but be patient. It will go away with time. Be careful when poking anything near your eye! If you are young, or uncomfortable doing that your Dr. will be able to lance it for you if necessary. Don't let the pus drain into your eye, you don't want to infect your eye. Good luck, and be careful!

How can I cure a stye on eyelids?

From: StyeA stye is a small, painful cyst on your eyelid. It is usually caused from infection by bacteria at the base of an eyelash follicle. The stye may feel sore and tender and may block part of your vision until it goes away. Styes usually clear up by themselves in 1 to 3 weeks, without treatment. To treat itHold a warm compress against your eye as this can help open up the blocked pores. A clean damp face washer that has been submerged in very warm water (as warm as you can tolerate) is ideal. Do this for 15 minutes four to six times a day. Always make sure your eye is closed when doing this.Keep the area around your eye clean by gently washing your eyelid with water. You can also clean your eyes by using a damp cotton wool pad to wipe away any discharge. Do not use dry cotton wool or a tissue to clean your eye as this may scratch it.Try not to wear eye make-up or contact lenses until the stye has disappeared as this may irritate your eye and block the glands further.Try not to poke, prod, squeeze or scratch the stye as this could cause an infection. Avoid using sharp objects, such as tweezers, around your eyes.If you have an eye discharge, you should see your doctor.

Stye INSIDE upper eyelid?

So I started forming this bump inside my eye like I can feel it, as if theres something in my eye, it doesn't hurt but it's just irritating. I can't flip my eyelid inside out cause I don't want to make matters worse, but it's like a 3d looking bump on the outside. My sister had it before and she gave me some eye drops she has, and told me not to touch it. I've read to put a hot compress on for 10 minutes several times a day and the teabag method too but i'm scared if i do that, will the stye pop INSIDE my eye? and how would I get the pus out? I hate touching my eyes, so just let me know if the stye will explode inside my eye if I used the teabag or hot compress method please? Thanks! :)

Even if you are tempted to do so, fight the urge to squeeze the sty out of its misery. It will make things worse. Hold the sty as you would treat a newborn baby: with utmost care.

Clear it
Steer clear of eye makeup or accessories near the eyelid. You may have to sacrifice your eye makeup for a season until the sty leaves your precious eyelid. If you don't take note of this vital advice, you might end up transferring the sty bacteria on your makeup applicators and end up having an eye sty for life!

Clean it
You can use a mild soap on cotton cloth to gently clean the root of your eyelashes to prevent the sty from taking over. It thrives in dirt, so eliminate as much dirt as you can in the soonest possible time.
