What Should I Do About Transportation To Work

How do I get to work with no money and no transportation?

I would suggest you find some money from somewhere! Too many people seem to think that just because there is a bus/train/tram/ferry running somewhere, that it is there for them and they don’t have to pay. WRONG!!! People such as myself are earning an honest living operating such services. Whilst Public Transport is heavily subsidised by taxes (in Australia it comes from GST revenue), it still has to be accounted for. I won’t go into the in’s and out’s of how it all works, but I will remind everyone to be honest - pay your fare, and be polite to the driver of the bus or tram, and the crew of trains or ferries. They are people too, they have feelings, and lives of their own.

What should I do after 10+2 to work in transportation and automobile design?

NID, Gandhinagar has a course in automobile design. It's one of the best in India. A friend of mine did PG from NID and later worked at Tata Motors in design unit. Please refer to the link below:Transportation & Automobile Design

What is your means of transportation?

They want to know if you need to use the bus or you get a ride from a friend if you have your own car it does not matter what time your shift starts or ends. This is a measurablity of can you get to work on time.Does the employer have staff parking or do you need to find your own space somewhere. Depending on your situation you may want to indicate something like drive my own car or 20 minute bike ride. 15 minute walk 20 minutes by bus showing that you can still get to work even if something happens to your car.Depending on the job shifts may start or end when there is no bus service or the bus service near the workplace is not frequent. Take all this into account when answering the question. You are saying I can get to work, When do you want me to start.Good Luck

How do you work when you don t have transportation?

YOU WALK.You get a little pay for the next ride to next job.

You get a little more work and more pay for the next longer ride.
Life is not good for many in the supposed land of streets paved with gold.
You DO NOT get everything in a day or two.
One step at a time.
You have a computer access place.
Try looking for ride share in your area.
If you are nice about it often a co worker can assist you with part of your transportation needs. Maybe help with the ride home some shifts.

Transportation Engineering has many divisions likeHighway Engineering,Urban Transportation,Airport Engineering,Railway Engineering,Port & Harbour Engineering etc.And the eligibility to get into a division is different. For example,To become a Highway Engineer or Railway Engineer (Indian Railway), Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering is sufficient. To get into other divisions, you need Specialisation in those divisions. No money, No Job, No Transportation. What can I do?

I am sorry you are having such a difficult time:(

I would first see if you can get some emergency assistance.
Go to your local Divison of Family services (or whatever it is called in your area) and see if you qualify for food stamps and free or low cost medical care. They should also be able to either provide you with asistance in obtaining a job or direct you to an agency who can. Keep in mind sometimes you have to make do with two (or more) part-time jobs to make it in this economy rather than one full time job.

Good luck in getting back on your feet.

What do Civil/Transportation Engineers wear to work [dress code]?

If you are working in a DOT main office, the most common dress will most likely be casual dress pants and a shirt with a collar. Although students are usually cut quite a bit of slack and you may be able to get away with jeans. Maybe wear some nicer pants the first day and check things out. If you wear a tie and or a blazer or a suit, you will probably stick out as someone who is there on their first day.

If you are working in a small region/district office or a field office, jeans and a polo shirt will probably be the norm.

I hope that you enjoy your internship, I have been happily employed as a Civil/Transportation Engineer at two different state DOTs in the office and in the field for 16 years now. It has been a pretty fun job most of that time.
