What should I do for Halloween?

Okay so I'm 15 and I can sort of feel myself easing out of the whole trick or treating thing. I mean, it's fun, but not like it used to be. It's definitely better when you're younger. At this age, it just gets tiring afer awhile (not to mention freezing). I suggested that my two friends just come over to my house and we will hang out. I didn't really know if I should purchase a costume this year either because I always see the same ones every year and they are usually made of cheap material and a bit expensive sometimes. I opted out on that. But now, I'm starting to like the idea of the whole costume thing again but I'm at a total loss as to what to do on Halloween. Unfortunately its on a monday (a school night) and curfew is at 9pm. One of my friends wants to dress up but the other agreed with me and just simply wants to hang out. I don't know what to do. Do we go trick or treating? Or just dress up and hang around the house? If so, what should we do while there? I have no idea, please help.

As a pagan (Norse), what should I do for Halloween?

Whatever you like.We have absolutely no detailed historical evidence of what the Norse did in their religious practices. So Norse reconstructionists pretty much have to create their own rituals from scratch. Within Asatru, a Blót - Wikipedia would be common, though I don't think Oct 31st is anything special.

Can I dress up for Halloween (I'm a Muslim)?

It is Haram to do so. This is because the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said that whoever imitates the customs of a people is one of them.Traditionally, this is not understood as meaning that you would literally become a Christian if you practice Halloween. Rather, it is understood as a rhetorical way of expressing that such behavior is unacceptable. But once you take into account that Halloween was a pagan practice prior to Christians incorporating it, and that it is associated with “dark arts” (and satan worship, according to some), it should be repugnant enough to destroy any desire you may have to participate in it.Note: My response above assumes that you merely dress up and/or give candy WITHOUT actually believing Halloween to be a good thing, and without practicing any religious rites of non-Islamic religions.

What do you have planned or hope to do this Halloween?

We’re going to celebrate Halloween by decorating our home with pumpkins, autumn leaves, put out some jack o lanterns on the back patio and porch. Hang wreaths on my doors. Then I am going to make treats for my family such as doughnuts, cookies and maybe buy some candy for the small children. I think we’ll bbq a brisket for my family dinner. Then after about 10 at night I’ll turn off the porch light and head on to Austin. Partake in that giant block party on 6th street. Come home about 2 in the morning and sleep.I will take the brisket that we bbq, tamales, cook some Mexican rice and beans. Go to the bakery and get some Mexican sweet bread. Make a batch of hot Mexican coco. My daughter and I will set the table. We will get ready to celebrate the Day of the Dead. Prepare the food that my dead relatives like to eat. Come evening we will light luminaries on the sidewalk.I have already set an altar in my dining room with the pictures of the family members that pass along two weeks prior. The sugar skulls, marigolds, the colorful Katrinas are already in place. It will look very festive and colorful. It will be a small affair. Just so my grandson will have these memories and hear the stories of his great- great grandparents and great grandparents. How my father love to work on the B-52’s and how he took care of goats and sheep around Leon Valley. Maybe tell him that my father liked to put peanuts in his coke. That looked so nasty! If the weather is cool and there is a breeze we may take our supper outside and dine on the patio. Let my grandson run around a bit.The day of the dead is a remembrance of those who passed away. Of talking about them and telling their life stories. I understand that there are people that are always looking at this celebration as a morbid practice. To this I say stop showing your ignorance and narrow minded attitude. I have some in my husband’s family that I speak of.I think it’s a lovely way to insure that our ancestors will not be forgotten. To know the type of people that you came from. The women in my family were strong. They had to be. If a man raised his hand to my great grandmother she would come down like a hammer. The men were strong and compassionate. I want him to know that. My daughter and son needs to hear those stories too.Is it a pagan practice? Culture appropriation? Who cares. My family and I will be enjoying the season. That is how my family is going celebrate.

Grounded for halloween what to do by myself?

Tell why your grounded and people might be more helpful. Also what are you grounded from? Movies, DVD, or just hanging out with friends are options if those haven't been taken away too.

I HAVE NO PLANS FOR HALLOWEEN! what should i do?
