Do have a stories of pit bull attacks on humans?
I don't have a report of a pit bull killing a child but I do believe any dog can kill a child. One of my cats was savaged to death by 3 pit bull terriers. I don't blame the dogs, its their instinct to hunt in packs. I do blame the irresponsible teenagers who were walking them off the leash in a street where children play. It could have quite easily have been a child. One of my neighbours who witnessed the attack did say it was killed by the first bite which was to the back of the neck. It was shaken so violently it broke its neck.
Is it true that a dog can be killed instantly by pulling its front legs violently outwards to the sides?

Try not to sound like a barking, whimpering or howling injured animal.If an attack is imminent, i.e., you are where the dog thinks you don't belong (too close to the puppies or too close to the food source), then slowly take off a belt, a shirt, a shoe, anything that you can extend as a decoy. Don't throw it, which is a jerky, bite inducing movement. If you can get the dog going after the offering that you have dangled out as you slowly back away, then once engaged, give a little tug, then give the dog the offering. Try to time this with your escape, i.e., an open door, the fence, a tree...Most dogs will try to "kill" the offering, so say goodbye to your Air Jordans, at least the one offered. So much better than saying goodbye to your fingers, calves or possibly your life.If I am being attacked and all else fails, I have one of two choices, and running isn't among them. You can shove your hand/fist into the dog's mouth. They really have a hard time closing it and if it is in far enough, breathing. When I train dogs who are moderately confused about boundaries and think that a toothy hello will tip the relationship their way, my hand instantly shoots out and grabs the lower jaw, usually palm against the tongue. I'm really good at this. For my forty years of experience, I've only been bitten once. On the leg. The bruise and teeth marks made a smiley face. The other choice is to surrender and make yourself as small a target as possible. Cover your neck with your shirt, go fetal position and roll away. You will probably lose some extremities. Hopefully help comes before you are now considered a meal.

@taliatalia22, Hm, well it is really hot here and these days are getting really hot, and my dog kinda lays by the window where the sun rays hit and maybe he got a little dizzy or something and threw up cause he threw up in the kitchen cause it's really hot in there(we don't have AC cause this house didn't come with it so we have those fans by our rooms and the hallway which goes kinda to the living room but not the kitchen too much) and you could almost throw up. I think he pooped maybe cause he had to go to the bathroom and my mom didn't notice(my dog usually stares at us or stands by the TV like trying to get our attention to go to the bathroom) but I don't know if he did cos I was in my room. But he barely throws up, he's a healthy dog he had those ticks that stick on the skin of dogs and suck the blood and they get big then they fall off, but my mom and I brushed his hair, cut it short and bathed him and checked if he had some, the day before I found one on him so I took it off and
Why does my dog rub her neck on my face?
Ok it could be any of these reasons .showing content. Like saying, “I’ve been well cared for”Rugbbing scent on you so others know you belong to him. Claiming, marking as in territory.When dogs do this with other dogs it is equivalent to giving a human hug. Though they would have to be leaning in; their body would curve, relaxed position.
My 15 year old daughter punched me on the face twice when I was stopping her arguing with her dad. Shall I call the cops on her? What would they do? My mouth is still swollen from yesterday.
Wait wait wait…. Why is she still alive after punching you twice. I know that no parents wants to beat their kids. But discipline is needed. I do not even think abouf raising my hand or scream at my parents even tho i'm 19. And i hope i stay this way untile the end.It's not magic that some kids don't do such thing to their parents. It's the parents that showed weakness. Why would u call the cops? This a family issue, and you parents should be able to handle it. What would u do what she start doing drugs and such. You need to have a way to get inside her head, peacefully and forcefully.This is my suggestion,Whatever have been done is done. You can't take that back, But have her unstand that what she have is a privilege and not a right. That phone bill, the internet, the house, the food, the heat, the water. You should let her know that “If you gonna live in my house, you gotta show us respect” also, make some ground rules and discuss it with her, explain to her why did you decide on such rules. Take her opinion and maybe modify some rules. As long as she understands why such rules exist and admit that they're for the best, you'll be closer and more understanding.Almost a method poped up while typing the last one: Be the bridge that connects her to everything. Once things clam down, try getting closer, and when time is right, talk about what happended and laugh it off. It'll come a time when she remembers closeness and the fun she had. DON’T TRY TO CONTROLL YOUR KIDS, TRY TO UNDERSTAND THEM.
Are there any long term problems that develop after a heat stroke?
the air conditioner went out in my house monday. i came home and found one of my pits having a severe heat stroke. she had no muscle strength. couldnt move at all. her tongue was so swollen i had to put my hand in her mouth and hold it down so she could breathe. i rushed her inside and poured cold water over her and rubbed her body down with ice packs until her temp started to drop. she seems to be doing better now. she continued throwing up till yesterday. it was a really thick yellowish brown color. and she finally has control over her bowels. she started out eating wet food yesterday and when she kept that down i let her eat some hard food. my biggest worry is that one of her pupils is huge and the other one is little. also shes still out of it. when you call her she wont respond. she`ll cock her head but she can`t seem to focus in on who`s talking to her. my vet is out of town for the week on vacation or she would have already seen him. the only other vet hates pit bulls and won`t see them. she was the head of the local spca for a year and she had all pits put down as soon as they came in the door. i cant stand her. ive looked all over the internet and can find the symptoms of heat strokes can cant find anything on long term effects. i worried about my girl and i have to wait till monday for my vet to be back. if anyone knows anything i would love to hear it.
