What Should I Do To Get Better In Golf

How do I get better at golf?

I agree Evan, Kiyoto, and Walt who are each giving powerful advice from my experience.  I will add a couple of things I have observed:Developing a long term relationship with a pro seems to be much more effective than a intense weekend golf school or getting a lesson for a quick fix or when things are falling apart.   The model that I have seen work the best:  Take a lesson.  Practice what you learned for a week or two.   Take another lesson.  Repeat.   I was able to cut my handicap in half when I was able to follow and maintain this approach. If you have found a reputable pro, follow his/her advice...completely.      Avoid reading instructional articles in golf magazines or watching golf instruction on the Golf Channel. (I purposefully skip those articles averting my eyes to avoid the least bit of influence.)   For most golfers, the golf swing is too complex to self-diagnose.  In my experience, I found that many times I didn't realize the advice is not relevant to my swing.  This is analogous to diagnosing oneself from WebMD - do so at your own risk.  My pro joking referred to those articles as 'job security.'Practice....especially shots inside of 100 yards.  Simply stated - there is very little opportunity for improvement without practice.  Shots inside of 100 yards are referred to by many as the 'scoring game.'Track your statistics when you play so can have an informed perspective on what to practice.   At a minimum, track...   Quantity of fairways hit during a roundQuantity of greens hit in regulation (i.e. on the green and able to 2-putt for par)Quantity of putts in a round (2-putting 18 holes would result in 36 putts per round.)Up and downs success rate from inside of 100 yards (i.e. when in a situation with less than 100 yards to the hole, how frequently are you able to complete the hole in 2 shots....1 to get up and 1 to get down.)

How to quickly get better at golf?

well, i have to say that trying to get better that fast could be counterproductive if you're not careful. you have to practice every part of your game- your full swing, pitch shots, chips, and finally putts. for your full swings, focus on making a good, rhythmic motion, while keeping in balance. focus on hitting down on the ball with the irons (taking a divot after the ball), and sweeping with the fairway metals. stay nice and relaxed, to allow for a good release. for your pitches and chips, keep your weight centered over the ball, or slightly forward, to promote solid contact. focus on those awkward yardages, such as 50-60 yards. when dealing with little fringe and a lot of green, use a putter or 8 iron to roll it there. its easier to keep the ball down and rolling! think distance, not how hard you hit it. for your putting, it should mainly be speed. again, think distance, not your stroke. on the short putts, accelerate! that weak follow-though is the last thing you want to do.

and lastly, for practicing and playing on the course, stretch! i can't emphasize enough how important it is to have flexibility and range of motion in the swing. hope that helps, and good luck:]

How can I make my VW Golf look better and go faster?

lower it.

How do I get better at golf without a trainer?

I think this was from Ben Hogan, "The probability is that, for most golfers, doing the precise opposite of what they are inclined to do is likely to bring them much closer to having a perfect swing." That being said you'll need to see yourself swinging every possible chance so you can match swing feelings with results.  Its 2015 get a cell phone that has at least 120 fps video and a large mirror for your practice area.  Chose a swing to emulate and go.  All of the information is on YouTube but there is junk out their as well so be careful.  Enjoy the process.P.S.  I  read an article about  how golf knowledge has grown by leaps an bounds over the last few years due to launch monitors and high speed cameras.  Somehow with all of this knowledge the average golfer is not getting any better.  So teaching and/or methods don't work.  According to the article.

How Can I Get Better Results from my golf practice?

You're better results from practice means lower scores right? If that's what you mean the best way to improve your score is to practice the game from green to tee, tee to green. What I mean is Master your short game on and around the GREEN FIRST. Then Master the 5o yard shot then the 75. To focus on scoring is to focus on the game from a hundred yards and in that is where it's made or brake practice a hundred yards in

Which disc golf set should I buy?

the sport craft disc set ( http://www.amazon.com/sportcraft-disc-go... ) would be the better of the 2 choices because you could actually use full size golf discs and it might be a bit of a challenge, the down side to it is the discs that come with the set look like junk. as for the second set it is made for mini discs (or disc markers) which wouldn't be very good practice because mini discs are tiny and don't fly very well, so i would deffinatly say no to that one. your best bet though would be to find an actual basket (like the ones you would find at a course) but the problem with that is they tend to get a little pricey. here are a couple of links for to ebay items that would be very nice but are a little higher in price but keep in mind these are also in the lower price range, you could be spending upwards of $400 for a really nice one
