What should I do if my cell phone is stolen?

Keep Calm. The sky has not fallen on you.1. Report it to the nearest police station and get a signed copy of the report.2. If it is a android phone try to erase the data using Android device manger ( installing in PC and using same Gmail ID used for phone).  3. If step 2 fails then, wait for few hours if you feel somebody may find it and call you to return. No need to wait if you are confirm its stolen.4. Go to the respective mobile service provider with a valid ID card as well as proof of address and 2 passport size photos (the police report copy is optional). Ask them to block the stolen sim and issue a new sim to you. The total work hardly takes 1-2 hours. New sim activation takes maximum 1 working day. You will get all your account balance if you deactivate the sim quickly, before the thief starts misusing. If you have too much personal staff in your phone it's always a good idea to password protect the phone & encrypt the memory card. But if you haven't done it yet, there nothing to do after its stolen.

1. Move apps to SD cardMost of the apps that you install from PlayStore gets installed on your phone memory. You can move most of them to SD card memory and clear up some space. But some apps like WhatsApp do not allow it. Go to Settings >> Apps and click the ON SD CARD tab. Here you can see apps that are installed on the SD CARD. There will be a tick next to it. If any app is not ticked, it is installed in Phone Memory. Just click on it and you will see an option to "Move to SD Card."This way you will free up phone memory used for the app data. 2. Clear CacheNow, there are some apps like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. that you cannot move to SD Card. These apps will have a lot of cache files that eat up memory. These are mostly the facebook pages, photos, Instagram photos you have browsed/liked. These are temporarily stored by the apps, so that it doesn't have to download them again when you decide to scroll down the timeline again. But do you really scroll down again and again? NO. You can delete them without losing any data. So, again go to Settings >> Apps and click on Facebook, Instagram etc and click "Clear Cache" . Most apps have cache, just check for it and clear. 3. WhatsApp Media and DatabasesWhatsApp is installed on Phone Memory by default and it saves all the media you send and receive on Phone Memory. This eats up a lot of space, if you get a lot of images and videos daily. So, go to WhatsApp folder and Phone Memory and you will find the Media and Databases folders. Read more: How To Free Up Phone Memory On Your Android Phone (Beginner's Guide)

What should you do when you drop your phone in water?

Yesterday my mobile (Moto G2 ) fell into full bucket of hot water. This question aroused after this happened to me and now I’m writing this answer through my mobile only! (which is working in same condition it was before ) . so how did happened !!. So ,if your mobile fall into water , first thing first , immediately switch it off .if you can take its battery out, so do so ,otherwise in my case , I wasn’t able to take the battery out so switch it off immediately as the water penetrated into the phone can short-circuit the component if the phone is on and current is flowing inside it .now place your phone into a drying agent , the most common drying agent (soaking agent ) available with all of us is dry rice or uncooked rice . place your mobile covered into rice for 24 or more hours as dry rice are good absorbing agents as they absorb whatever moisture left inside your phone . You can also use silica gel to dry your phone .Precaution - never blow dry your phone with blow dryer or heater as they can fry components of your phone . Don’t do such silly mistake .After 24 or more Hrs you can switch on your phone and I’am definitely sure you can use your phone as it was before .Why your phone is not working after all this - this is because your phone was in water for more time ,this let the water penetrated deep into the phone; it was not possible to absorb the moisture after all this remedy also. What should you do even if your phone is not working now also - immediately rush to the nearest mobile service store :)#underoot41

What do you do when you lose your cell phone?

Call your home network operator. No matter where you are in the world, call your home network and tell them you lost it. You will be taken through subscriber security and they will block your SIM to prevent call charges building up. Ask them to also block the handset and provide the IMEI number to you.Increasingly, you will need this IMEI to make an insurance claim, loss or theft report to local authorities. If you find it again, call your network back request the block to be removed. If you made an insurance claim that was settled the phone no longer belongs to you so speak to your insurer for next steps. If you made a loss or theft report to police or other agencies call them and tell them you found it.

I lost my phone in India. What should I do now?

Buy a new cell phone because1. The police wouldn't register an FIR if you are not from an influential background. 2. If you have some resource and you get to lodge an FIR, the cyber cell wouldn't do anything until and unless your influential resource is really influential and can contact them directly and ask them to do it. 3. The authorities don't see the potential risks involved with breach of privacy. 4. The money spent bribing policemen and other authorities will be a sizable amount. Disclaimer:- I have been in the same situation and it wasn't a pleasant trip. My opinions are solely based on my past experiences.

My sister is addicted to her phone what should I do?

My 19 year old sister has a phone addiction, I’m 14 and I’m not even addicted to my phone, she is on her phone all day non stop. She’s on Instagram all day, she’s like a zombie. I can’t even talk to her without her staring down at her phone, and she never really pays attention to anything anyone has to say. She’s just isolated in her room all day just under her blankets on her phone and it’s sad. She just comes down for dinner and brings it up to her room and uses her phone, that’s how obsessed and addicted she is. What should I do about this?
