What Should I Expect When I Go To Korea

Korean women and sex?

It all depends on your approach as well as knowing what values Korea society has. Example: Koreans very much respect and value education. Korean women will generally be more open if they can tell if you are educated. Also, from experience, Korean women like it when a foreigner demonstrates some knowledge of their culture and language. They are so used to American men (many of whom are in the U.S. military) who have no desire to learn or are even disrespectful about their country.

Don't make casual sex your top agenda. Korean women are more inclined towards relationships. Understand that Korean women who date or are seen with foreigner men are looked down at by Korean society. So, they are making some sacrifice by even being seen in public. Younger Korean men will make all sorts of nasty comments to them (in Korean) when they walk down the street with you. Some patience and respect will go a long way. Of course, if you don't want to take the time to do what it takes to find a quality woman, you can go to an area called Itaewon and ask where hooker hill is. Lastly, be safe and if you are particular to a certain brand of protection, you may want to bring a good supply with you since you may not be able to find them there.

What should I see when I travel to Korea?

Must go to placesRoyal Palaces in SeoulDMZ - must do the visit to Panmunjom (truce village - book ahead), and the tunnels of incursion. National Museum. There is enough stuff in Seoul to do many days of exploring. Visit a Korean Spa - Jimkilbang (ok bad spelling, but you can also spend the night in these places - bring ear plugs and face mask). Go to a Korean Restaurant - have your meat cooked in front of you by you. Visitor centres will have English speaking staff. The high speed train the KTX is very good for getting between Busan and Seoul and has Wifi. But you can also take the Bus.

What does North Korea expect to gain going to war with the USA?

I think many of the other answers are good. I’d place the emphasis a little differently.I think the DPRK does not want to engage in open hostilities (in war, in a continuation of the 1950–53 Korean War). But it wants to build a credible deterrence so that the US will not attack them, as the US attacked Iraq under Saddam Hussein and Libya, both of which lacked nuclear weapons. The DPRK has had good deterrence for a while in their artillery that could smash Seoul and kill millions of South Koreans. Nuclear weapons enhance that deterrence. Missile-based nuclear weapons, especially ones that can reach the mainland, are an even better deterence.Although it is not clear that the US has ever seriously tried diplomacy and generosity, Trump is correct that whatever ‘diplomacy’ has been tried has failed. But trying to imagine the US using force against the DPRK has always been dicey, because of the number of South Koreans (and North Koreans) who would die. Trump can say he will blast North Korea off the face of the earth, but at what cost? The current DPRK regime has to confront a bully who is threatening them.(I have no respect for the DPRK, politically, personally, or morally, because they are a closed, totalitarian regime. But I think that the US has also never seriously tried negotiation, and that threats from the US are empty except to further encourage the DPRK to build up their military forces and to become more totalitarian.)

How much would I expect to pay for a nanny in Yongsan South Korea?

Yongsan in Seoul?
There really isn't a nanny or baby sitter concept in Korea. It's more likely that you will have to hire a day maid and have her do chores around the house while looking after your kids. The cost isn't actually that much for a Korean woman. You can hire one from a company for around $500 a month. They will usually come around noon and leave around 6. If you're looking for someone to come earlier in the morning, you'll probably have to pay a bit more.

If I go to Korea, should I adopt a Korean name?

Why would you adopt a Korean name? Koreans are familiar with western names.

I don't think Koreans will be annoyed if you use a Korean name, but they will probably be puzzled with your choice. There's a basic concept in Korean called "uri wa nam", meaning "us and them". They see foreigners as foreign and would expect them to have foreign names. Using a Korean name won't make you any less foreign to Koreans, so again they would probably be puzzled.

As for Koreans using foreign names in America, Koreans tell me that they take western names when they deal with foreign people because they think Korean names are too hard for western people to pronounce or remember.

How much racism can a white traveler expect when traveling to China, Japan, and S. Korea?

As noted by others, you might be charged more by some merchants in markets. If you’re trying to partake in facets of the nation that they don’t want to show the world (say, oh, the sex trade or buying fake designer goods or you want to eat dog meat) you will find doors closed. But, in general, if you’re polite you will have a frictionless time. In fact, you’ll probably have a better time than if you were, say, a tourist from SE Asia. It will likely start at customs. You probably won’t be asked any questions. Just a smiling face stamping your passport and a “welcome to…”In shops and restaurants you’ll probably have attentive service. School kids will probably want their picture with you. However, if you’re rude, you will be treated much more harshly. If you commit a crime, oh boy, expect to have the book thrown at you. Don’t get into a fight. Even if the other guy started it. Cops will always take the word of the local over the “rude American”. Even if you’re not American.

What should one expect from historic summit of US President Donald Trump and North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un?

Trump will either get played by Kim Jong Un and Putin and wont even know it happened or is in on the play with them and the US won’t know what happened. Either way Trump will protect himself first. Its already happening when Kim announced he would destroy his test site that had already collapsed under itself from over use and was useless. What good does that do the US . Kim already has the nuclear ability and this is just show. Trump will let his ego get in the way and be used by the Koreans unless Moon steps in and saves the day. The release of the prisoners is something North Korea does every time it wants something and then they arrest some more right after

Would you travel to North Korea?

No.1. They rely on hard foreign currency to keep their government afloat. Admittedly, tourism receipts are not a huge source, and mine would be a drop in the bucket, but every little bit counts.2. They confiscate and hold your passport for the duration of the trip. As I am Korean-American with a flawless American accent, and the country has had a history of kidnapping people, and has had in recent years a history of imprisoning Americans, this is a non-trivial risk for me. The American passport doesn't seem to help people as much over there.3. I find myself very uncomfortable with the notion of poverty tourism. Much as I find the sightseeing in the remains of Detroit problematic, the notion of going to a failed state in order to gawk at the ruins engenders great discomfort in me.4. Patience. Eventually, North Korea will be subsumed into China (worst case) or South Korea (best case), and I can see it then, under a government that has some global respect and is willing to respect some rights of the individual.

Should I travel to North Korea?

I don't think it is a good idea for your own safety. As we known that NK is very unfriendly to the US, thus the US citizen (actually all non-Asian faces) is not welcomed to appear in their country. Also, NK sometimes would take foreigners as hostages to bargain with the West. So your personal safety and freedom is not guaranteed. So, in conclusion, DON'T GO!
