What should I give a 12 year old girl for her birthday?
Ask her!!!Wow, 12 year olds are definitely well into their individuality! Even my 9 yr old daughter is going to be very different to shop for this year on her 10th. Sure you can never go wrong with a few soaps, hair things and what not for any casual female acquaintance, but this shouldn't be more than 10% of the gifts you get your own daughter.Here's what you do, close your eyes and try to pull up your memories of every conversation inthe last few months. 12 year old girls talk about themselves almost as much as teenagers or 20-30 yr olds do. Always going on about which stars they like things they like what they don't, their interests etc.Don't stop thinkingwhe. You remember one thing, remember as many as you can. Ask her about them -casually- don't say hey you want Bieber tix? Say 'hey so what's that rocker u like? bleeber? They'll correct you and go on for 15 minutes about things they like. Ask a few more questions about other interests if you haven't raised any suspicions yet. Which won't take long I'm guessing. If you've known her 12 years and don't know her well enough that you gotta ask strangers fior gift ideas she's going to think you're dying if you suddenly show so much "nice" interest (ie interest without ulterior motives or criticisms)And while you're listening. My daughter is turning 12 years old and she is planning on having a birthday party with about 25 people or so with girls and boys. She really wanted to do it at a water park but the problem is her birthday is in the fall. Her acutuall birthday is September 30th, same as mine so we want to have it in the fall. Maybe around 11 we could do a BBQ and lots of activities and then have a few girls over for a sleepover? If so, which acitivities do you think would be appropriate? They are very mature so don't say anything that involves Barbie or something like that. Lol. Thank you so much.

If she has an Ipod, I'd get her a gift of down-loadable music. New songs come out all the time and my son is always wanting to download the latest! (he's 12 also). I know you said you did the gift card thing already, but really it is always a good idea! Where we live you can get a gift card for the mall and it works for all the different stores so they can shop where they want. Other ideas might be.. magazine subscriptions - 12 is when I started cutting out boys photos in the teen mags and putting them on the walls of my bedroom! What about books? Drawing stuff? (Sketch pad, expensive drawing pencils/pens, charcoals/paints, etc.) Is she into photos? What about a digital camera? Picture frames? Photo albums? (another thing my son just got and loves - a digital camera) Another option is all the accessories that are made for the Ipod, speakers, stereos, I-pals - little animals with speakers in their ears that you hook your Ipod to. Have you considered lessons of some sort? It is the gift that keeps on giving and often times the parks & rec department has them at affordable rates. Consider swimming, art, drama, tennis, music. My daughter, who is about to turn 12 as well and is neither a tomboy nor the girly type, loves gift certifs to the book store. She enjoys all the Disney Fairies books and loves to be able to own them. Webkinz Ears pierced? I say that b/c mine is asking for a second piercing.
