What should we name our jazz choir?

So, my choir director named our jazz choir County Line Jazz.

Here's some extra info to take into consideration.. Our School is L-M High School and we have 14 people.
Thanks!

Show Choir names?

My school is finally starting a show choir/ glee club this year and we need names! Our school name is Grand Traverse Academy or GTA for short, out colors are blue and white, our mascot is a mustang, and we are located in Traverse City, Michigan, we don't need a name revolving around any of this information though :)

I need show choir name ideas?!?

Go to the site of www.acapella.com ( might be a variant on that). Read the lists of names that they have on CDs for sale. One of my favorites - Three Men and a Tenor. Another favorite is a lesbian group called Lickety Split (sorry if you are under 18 . . .). Many are from the college - the Tufts Dental School Amalgamates (another names for *fillings*). We have a HS here whose mascot is the gander (yup - a male duck - don't ask. . ) so they are the Geese and Ganders.

Yes, a cute name gets you remembered - but your gotta be GOOD to be remembered by the right people. This is a ton of fun to sing - good luck!

High school show choir name?

So I'm gonna be writting a story soon, and a need a name for the show choir name. The group are a mixture of people..different races, sizes, sexualities, etc. They are kinda outcasts and rebels. I like the name New Directions but of course Glee already has that name...but I like the idea of it. The school is called Skylynn High School, and it needs to sound good with Skylynn High.

What is the name of this Gospel song and what choir sings it.. Please help!?

Ok, so my choir is learning this song and I really need to know what's the name of this song and what choir sings it. I have the words. Maybe someone can help me: it goes like this:
Death where is your sting.
Sting where is your grave
Grave where is your victory.
He got up, God raised him up. He got up with all power in his hand.

How many parts are there in a choir?

The highest number of parts I’ve personally encountered in a choir piece is 8, not counting solos, thought there are pieces and arrangements that feature more than 8 parts.Soprano 1: Highest part in choir, usually composed of women (though I know a couple of men who sing along with this part at pitch for fun, though not very well. I wouldn’t believe it either, but it’s true.)Soprano 2: When the sopranos split, these sopranos go lower than the above sopranos.Alto 1 and Alto 2: Altos are the lower women’s part. I know a number of men who can sing alto in most pieces, and I’m among them. As with the Sopranos, Alto 1s go higher and Alto 2s go lower when the Altos split.Tenor 1 and Tenor 2: Tenor is the higher men’s part. I know a number of altos who sing low enough to sing with the tenors, and those who do usually sing Tenor 1. As with the previous parts, Tenor 1s go higher when they split, and Tenor 2s go lower.Baritone: This is the intermediate men’s part. They usually sing with the Basses, and when the basses split, they go higher.Bass: This is the lowest common choir part, which consists entirely of men. They form the musical foundation of the choir.Contrabasses sing lower than Bass, though I haven’t encountered any. I’m sure there are different names for the 1&2 parts, and I’m sure there are names for intermediate parts when the different parts split into more than 2 parts, but I don’t know them.Edit: It’s been brought to my attention that I was wrong about one of the parts, so I just deleted it.

What would be a good name for a tenor and bass choir that has one female baritone?

Choir.Your question could be read as asking about the choir’s actual Name, (in which I suggest ‘Tuned In’, because, why not), but since basically any name will do, I’m guessing that’s not what you’re after. If you want to reflect what type of music you sing with the description, then I suggest going with genre descriptors, like Barber shop choir or, National Romantic choir. If you just want to describe the range of your choir, then TTBB choir, or choir for low voices? Or why not the description you used, tenor and bass choir?I’m struggling to understand which situation you would need more than your own name? For recruitment you could just say you’re a choir of tenors, barytones and basses, or any of the descriptions above. For concerts, introducing yourself to new audiences the type of music should really be the most important bit. E.g. Hello, we’re “What a Pitch”, a Bass and Tenor choir mostly singing German drinking songs.

What is a good name for a girls show choir/choir group?

My choir teacher is asking us to come with a unique name that sticks out and sticks to us, you know. He's had a lot of choirs names one heart, one voice, and it really stuck to them. My choir wants something like that, can anyone help with ma delema(: thank you in advance.

What are your thoughts about the Mormon Tabernacle Choir name change with respect to the rebranding of the LDS Church generally? What other arms of the church will be renamed next?

The most awkward part of the new guidelines is keeping the name of the Savior Jesus Christ involved when referring to the members. We are accustomed to calling ourselves Latter-day Saints, but my understanding from 2018 October General Conference is that is not encouraged, but rather “I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints”. I think most of us adults will struggle with it for quite some time- old habits die hard.I know the term “Christian” is loaded, but it does make sense for us to use that to refer to ourselves generally and then use the full name of the church to distinguish between ours and other Christian churches. Catholics and Protestants both do this, which is why there is debate over our usage of the term in the first place.Perhaps “Followers of Jesus” will catch on.
