What Should I Name My Female Plott Hound Mix

Blue heeler and plott hound?

We were going to get a GSD, but found an adorable puppy which is half blue heeler (Australian Cattle Dog) and half plott hound. I may want to swipe him up before someone else gets the chance, and suprise my boyfriend, but you think he'd be disapointed if it wasen't the GSD pup he's imagining?

He'd never turn away any puppy..
But are they equally as good for a couple/ to be a family dog?

What do you know about either or both breeds?
How might the mix be?
With our other dog (older chihuahua)?

Tell me what you know, and compare to GSD.

Would he be satisfied with this mix breed?

Blue tick/ plott hound mix?

If mom and dad are both superb hunting dogs and you are looking for a hunting dog than I would say consider it. Ask why the pups are worth that much and if they can't give you a good answer then walk away.
If the parents are just two hound dogs that got tied and/ or you are not looking for a pup to hunt with (if they bred attempting to make better hunting dogs) then any mixed breed pup that costs more than shots is a rip off and I would highly suggest a shelter instead where you would not be supporting irresponsible owners and you can get a fully vetted and temperament tested dog cheaply.

My hound mix has webbed feet is possible?

sure it's possible. it just means she is mixed with a "water" dog, one of the many breeds that have webbed feet to help them do their job in the water... the gene for that trait was passed on to your pup.. so your dog will have a great nose and be great in the water too.. lucky you.

edit: here is a list of breeds that have webbed feet, as your pup ages one or more of the breeds might start to become clear to you:
Akita, Brussels Griffon, Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Chinook, Field Spaniel, German Shorthaired Pointer, German Wirehaired Pointer, Irish Water Spaniel, Labrador Retriever, Leonberger
, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, Otterhound, Plott Hound, Portuguese Water Dog, Redbone Coonhound, Spanish Water Dog, Weimaraner, Wirehaired Pointing Griffon.

What is the temperament of a Plott Hound and Pitbull mix?

Plott Hounds are powerful, intelligent and very loyal dogs. If not socialized properly they can become dominant and display aggressive behaviour.Pitbulls again are powerful dogs but are also very intelligent and extremely loyal.I have never met a mix of the two breeds but I can imagine a mix of the two would result in a powerful, loving dog that is eager to please. Plott Hounds are not recommended for inexperienced or timid owners as they will quickly become the dominate one of your ‘pack’.You’d also have to look at the temperament of the puppies dam and sire as their temperaments can give you a little insight as to what their litter will be like.If trained well and brought up in a loving home I see no reason that you would anything but a loving, well tempered, intelligent and fiercely loyal companion. That would look a little like this beautiful girl - Luna the Plott Hound Mix

What did you name your computer(s)?

Thanks for the A2A !!We all develop serious relationships with our machines/computers (for most of us thats the closest we come to an actual one :P ) ... so, naming your computer becomes rather varied. Most people use their gaming handles and/or online handles. These are nicknames they use in networked gaming ( think counter strike )and online on community forums etc.. Naming it over a close family member is also pretty common. Although I dont think anyone would name their computer as their boyfriend/girlfriend 's name. (seriously ?)Wanna make it geekier ? Name it as a famous AI (Deep Blue or Watson or Cyc ).HAL-9000, Starfleet or Enterprise would be cool names for sci-fi movie fans !!If you are running out of ideas, there are actually certain naming conventions for Server hierarchy. Consult this Network Naming Schemes wiki.If you are really into film and television, you can always name your systems over LOTR , Game of Thrones , Star Wars characters. Greek Mythology could be used (Zeus, Hercules eh ?)As for me my only Laptop is named after myself - just plain "shubham" . I know I am boring, :PReferences :1. What Do You Name Your Computers?2. What are the character traits of a Pitbull/Hound mix?

It often surprises people to learn that this extremely muscular dog with the impressive, confident presence is so easygoing.A well-bred American Pit Bull Terrier is a dependable, good-natured, loyal companion.Athletic and agile, with finely tuned reflexes, he must have moderate daily exercise to maintain his splendid muscle tone.Companionship is even more important, and extensive ongoing socialization is paramount. His attitude toward strangers varies from exuberant face kissing to polite reserve, and guarding instincts vary from high to nil, with some lines being much stronger tempered than others. His attitude toward other canines, however, is another story. His dog fighting ancestry dictates a strong-willed, no-nonsense kind of dog who does not take kindly to being challenged by other assertive dogs. If confronted, he will readily engage. Though some individuals live peacefully in a house full of pets, there is always the risk that dormant animal prey instincts may suddenly flare into deadly combat.Pit Bulls can be stubborn, yet they respond well to confident owners who know how to establish and enforce rules of expected behavior.Because of public/media prejudice, every American Pit Bull Terrier should be trained through at least basic obedience and always leashed outside of his yard. Every well-behaved Pit Bull seen on the street can help counteract anti-breed sentiment.

What do you call your dog other than by their name?

This beautiful girl is my Plott hound. Her name is Clara Jocasta X Gaul, where X is my wife’s last name, which will remain private.I address her in many ways depending on my mood and her behavior. Among them are:Clara (Clah-rah, my best guess at the German pronunciation; see below)Clarita (I grew up in so-cal so there is a little latino in my lexicon)Clara Jo (Plotts are a southern breed, state dog of N Carolina)Little Girl; though she is almost 60 pounds and is taller and longer than my Labrador, she is very athletic and sleek and can curl up into a very small ball and so she often seems to be much smaller than the Labmein guter hund (the Plott breed started from German dogs owned by German immigrants 250 years or so ago and my wife speaks ein bisschen deutsch; Clara is fluent in German)Good Bitch of the SouthStriped Devil (stri-ped, as is Pooh’s friend Tigger), Wee Pointy-nosed Devil, Horrible HoundPrincess Gallumpher: She loves to run joyfully and very athletically around the yard, mixing in long high leaps off the ground, which for some reason I refer to as “gallumphing” (maybe another Tigger reference from the back of my brain?)Good Dog

My male cat was chased by another cat on saturday night and now it's been 5 days and he hasn't came back. Is there any hope left if he will come back?

Yes, there’s hope!Does the other cat live in your neighborhood? If so, he might be chasing your cat away from your yard/home when he tries to come back. If this is happening, realize that the chaser can’t keep watch on the property 24/7. Cats have great patience, but will lose interest after a few days. So keep an eye out for your little buddy. When this happened to me, my cat came home around at dusk. I quickly scooped him up & brought him inside. Whenever I saw the cat that chased him, I shooed him away.Have you walked your neighborhood? Cats will usually stay fairly close to their home territory. Take a stroll through the neighborhood, paying close attention to bushes & shrubbery. He might be hiding underneath. You can quietly call his name. He might not come to you, but he will hear you. I have one that will answer me, but he’s a vocal guy anyway. Look in the trees, also. When frightened, some cats will climb as high as they can. Look under cars, in small spaces, anywhere that offers a “safe” spot for a kitty. Also, ask around your neighborhood. Tell everyone you know that you’re looking for your cat. There’s one house in my neighborhood that seems to be the cat hangout. The owners’ property borders a wooded area & the cats congregate there to hunt - that’s what I think, anyway, but there might be some feeding & pettting going on on the neighbor’s part, too.My cats are indoor/outdoor - if you call “outdoor” the deck, the driveway, the patio. For the most part, they don’t go too far off the property. Two winters ago, one of them got our & was gone for quite a few days (almost a week). I was worried sick, thinking he was hit by a car, hurt & unable to get to us - all the ugly things you worry about. I even called my town’s pound to see if they had somehow picked him up or had found him injured. The little stinker showed up when a dinner guest of ours arrived early. Just came right in like nothing was wrong & like he hadn’t been gone for more than an hour. I later found out that one of my neighbor’s was feeding a bunch of neighborhood cats & was feeding them high-end cat food (my guys get Friskie’s although they’d prefer Sheba). So while I can’t blame Ike for staying for the high-end buffet, I can blame him for not checking in at least once. Most of the time, they come back. And when they do, give them a can of Sheba!Good luck!
