What Should My Tumblr Name Be

It's really up to you, your URL (Tumblr name) should mean something to you.For example, mine is thirtythreebetadelta because it was the name of an OC I was especially proud of at the time and because of its length, it was pretty much guaranteed to be available. If I was making an account now, my URL would probably be doodledust, my username on AO3, or skyriderwednesday, my occasional identity elsewhere.From the information you provide, which would really generate something with very little meaning to you as I do not know you, I could suggest something along the lines of tayasolvesmysteries15 or tayaquintis15, or really any other random combinations.Think about it though, I'm a stranger on the internet who named herself after a robot she made up, do you really want me chosing an identity for you?Here are some things to consider;What other usernames have you used online?What’s something you feel people need to know about you straight away?Tumblr URLs can’t have capital letters and must only consist of letters, numbers and underscores (_), could any of your prospective URLs be misread as something you didn't intend?Are your interests likely to change significantly in the near future?Will you come to regret any of your choices? You can change your URL, but people will come to know and recognise you as whatever you pick. If you ever meet a Tumblr friend IRL (e.g. At Comicon or another fan convention), would you be embarrassed by them calling you by your URL?Anyway Taya, find me on Tumblr once you make your decision, I’d be interested to see what you pick as your URL.

Good question!A good name for your Tumblr blog can easily make or break your blog's path to success (read: if it's good and looks neat or creative, people will be more inclined to follow).Although your blog's name won't be the single deciding factor in whether your blog will be famous (have lots of followers) or not but it certainly is an important aspect of that.Depending on your topic you'll have to brainstorm keywords and add them together, change the way you write certain words but still make it pleasing to the eye.Once you have a few keywords on your topic, add them together and see if the username is available, if not, mix them up and try again until you get something that you like and is available.I'll give you two examples of blogs that I have and how I named them:1- KanyeFashion - this is the 5th blog I started in June 2015 and the only blog I would call successful (having 15k+ followers today).I wanted to make it a blog about the way Kanye West is dressing and about his style so I played with that. Some keywords that I didn't like or were not available include: KanyeWestFashion, YeezyStyle, KanyeStyle and so on. I liked KanyeFashion and it was available so it sticked.2 - LuxuryPassion - This one I stared a few months ago but I haven't been too active on it so I only have about 3k followers.Using the same principle, I started searching for keywords that would make it easy to understand what the blog is about. So again, after brainstorming a lot I finally found something that was available and that I liked.While it's cool to have an easy to read name and something nice, don't be too disappointed if your great blog name is already taken, think more and you'll find something else that's great.One more thing to remember: The name of your blog isn't the most important thing in getting success on Tumblr, there are other things that are way more important.
