Is there a difference between men and womens doc martens?
Sizing and width are different. If your feet are wide you can wear a men's shoe one or two sizes smaller than a man's shoe size. Best to try them on.
How do Dr. Martens sizes run? (US Womens size 7.5)?
Please, in your practical experience do Dr. Martens boots run small or large? My shoe size depends heavily on the brand and type of shoe. I am usually a solid 7.5, but sometimes I'm a 7 or I can even fit my foot into a 6.5 if shoes run rather large! Most of the time an 8 is too big for my foot. I am asking to buy the Dr. Martens Pierre boot in Black/White (like Kurt from Glee 3D :P)

Actually, it is 2 sizes if you count the hlaf sizes. So a man's 10 would be a woman's 11. Women's shoes are also slightly narrower but not by much. A good resource is about.com it shows you how to measure your foot and it provides charts to convert inches o the US sizes.
Why do Dr. Marten sizes come up so big? I found that 8.5 was my size in store and when I purchased from eBay, even 9 was too small.

What is the size guide for Doc Martens shoes?
With women’s Docs, they say to add two to the U.K. size, and that's your U.S. size. So if you are say women’s U.S. 7, theoretically you'd wear a size U.K. 5 in Docs. And with men’s, I think it's add one to the U.K. size for your U.S. size. I'll include a picture of the inside of a pair of Docs I have to help illustrate this.I think many people have had Docs turn out the right size for them going by this. However, I did that when I ordered my first pair, and the pair I got was defnitely too big. I nearly always wear a U.S. women’s 8, so I bought Docs in U.K. size 6. And that's what was too big. So then I returned them and bought U.K. size 5, and that was actually perfect for me even though U.S. women’s size 7, which is what that supposedly equals, is always too small for me. I went on to buy two more pairs of Docs in that size— one a vintage made in England pair and one a new pair but totally different style from my first pair— and U.K. 5 continued to be the right size for me, and if anything, one of my pairs is a tad on the big side. So my opinion is that one wearing women’s sizes should actually subtract three from their U.S. women’s size to get their U.K. size for Dr. Martens. But I don't recall hearing of anyone else who got their size that way, so take it with a grain of salt.
