What Size Electric Motor Do I Need For This Job I Want A Electric Motor For Moving A Conveyer Belt

How do I calculate the speed of the conveyor belts?

How does a conveyor belt work?

Conveyor systems have been an integral and very important part of manufacturing and industrial companies for over 100 years. Conveyor systems are mainstays in industries where quick and fast handling of packaging and shipments is a must. These apparatuses are widely used to transport and move large and heavy industrial and agricultural material. They are also used in companies or industries where self-unloading of bulk freighters are needed for moving items. Conveyor systems, often called conveyor belts, work by using two pulleys that continually loop over the material that rotates over them. This is done with endless procession of hooks, gears, buckets, and a wide rubber belt. The belt is then supported by a series of rollers along the path. The rollers in the center of the device prevents the conveyor from sagging in the middle while it is carrying a load.  Vertical conveyors and other types of conveyor systems are able to move a wide range of goods and products in a multi-directional pattern. They are usually equipped with load transporting platforms and drive chains. Conveyor systems are also made in a wide variety of sizes and configurations. Conveyor systems are not only found in industrial manufacturing sites, but also are commonly found and used in grocery stores. These systems carry the groceries items from one end of the check out counter to the other where it is bagged. Conveyor systems are also used for moving sidewalks and escalators. How about the large, complex system of conveyors used in the airport and post office? These conveyor systems are essential to move the sheer volume of luggage, mail and packages from one place to another. They are the ideal means of reducing humarlabor by automatically moving items, which can be large and heavy, to the desired location. Conveyor systems often save companies a large amount of time and money.

What type of motors are used for a conveyor belt?

All areas of industry use conveyors of one kind or another to move materials and products.  Conveyor drive systems do not need particularly high dynamic performance; reliability and ease of inspection and maintenance, on the other hand, are essential.  Belt conveyors are typically used to transport materials on the level or along slight slopes. They are driven by shaft mounted gearmotors in which the gearbox does not extend beyond the motor housing. Conveyor belt gearmotors are normally fitted with backstop devices to prevent the load from reversing direction when the motors are switched off.   Chain conveyors are used in a variety of situations. They are normally driven through gearboxes that engage directly with the chain on which the product movement hooks are suspended. Gearmotors for this type of conveyor are typically bevel-helical units driven directly by the electric motor. Parallel shaft gearboxes are also used.   Roller conveyors are generally used to transport long items like wood battens and panels. Material is moved along a series of driven rollers. Roller conveyors normally use parallel shaft or in-line gearboxes installed between a driven roller shaft and an electric motor. These gearmotor combinations must be compact in dimensions.

How do I calculate motor power to lift 150 kg?

Power can be calculated when you know how fast and how far you need to lift the 150kg load. In other words you need to decide the speed at which you want to lift the load, and then you can calculate Power→P=Force*velocityForce= Weight = Mass * Acceleration due to gravity.g is approximately 10 m/s^2 ~ 9.81 m/s^2>> P = 150kg*10m/s^2 * velocityLets say you want to lift it at 2 meters/second,P=F*VP= 1500N * 2m/sP= 3000W = 3kW

What's the difference between an escalator, elevator, and a lift?

Their are huge difference between escalator, elevator or lift . So differentiate these machines, Let’s discuss about all one by one.Lift or Elevators :An elevator or lift is a vertical transport vehicle that efficiently moves people or goods between floors of a building. They are generally powered by electric motors that either drive traction cables and counterweight systems, or pump hydraulic fluid to raise a cylindrical piston. Languages other than English may have loanwords based on either elevator (e.g., Japanese) or lift (e.g., Cantonese). Because of wheelchair access laws, elevators are often a legal requirement in new multi-story buildings, especially where wheelchair ramps would be impractical.Note : Lift and elevators both are same.Reference : - Elevator - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaEscalator :An escalator is a type of vertical transportation in the form of a moving staircase which carries people between floors of a building. It consists of a motor-driven chain of individually linked steps on a track which cycle on a pair of tracks which keep them horizontal.Escalators are used around the world in places where lifts would be impractical. Principal areas of usage include department stores, shopping malls, airports, transit systems (railway/railroad stations), convention centers, hotels, arenas, stadiums and public buildings.Escalators have the capacity to move large numbers of people. They can be placed in the same physical space as a staircase. They have no waiting interval (except during very heavy traffic). They can be used to guide people toward main exits or special exhibits. They may be weatherproofed for outdoor use. A nonfunctional escalator can function as a normal staircase, whereas many other methods of transport become useless when they break down or lose power.Reference : - Escalator - WikipediaIf you are looking for elevator or escalator manufacturer for your home, office and other industries, Visit our website https://himfujielevators.com

What is that thing at the airport where your...?

Hi Tweeker,
They are called belt conveyors and driven by electric motors to convey passenger baggage from the unloading area to the baggage collection area.

You probably have used escalators in your local shopping centre, the type that take you from a lower-level to a higher-level and vice versa.

Do you know what name is given to an automatic machine that lifts loads vertically (except passenger lifts)? It is called an elevator. And a similar machine that moves loads from a height to a lower level is called a lowerator.
